Bobservations

Carlos is the Absentminded Professor, always has been. Yesterday …YESTERDAY … he said to me:

“I need you to drive me to the statehouse at 10AM because it’s World AIDS Day and I’m speaking.”

“TOMORROW? You never told me about that and I have to work.”

“Tell ‘em you can’t work.”

“At the last minute?”

He blustered about how he thought he told me, he was sure he told me, he knew he told me …. did he tell me? No, he did not, but luckily I have a rapport with my boss because I’m so bloody valuable, that I was able to get the day off, though I will be doing some work from home.

Then … yes, there’s more … I get up early to take Carlos to Columbia and I’m turning on the water to take a shower. I’m stooped over the tub, feeling the water come out of the tap and get hot, and as soon as I have the temperature correct, I turn on the shower … except Carlos had cleaned the bathroom yesterday and when he put the handheld shower head back, he turned it slightly. So, as I turn the shower on a huge spray of icy cold water—it’s 29-degrees here this morning—spewed out onto my head, down my bareback and across my bare ass.

Oy, the screams. It is gonna be a long cold drive to Columbia.

Oh this is such a shame.  I mean, how he’ll ever make back the $25 million of his own money that he put into his campaign?

This week the Senate voted 61-35 to advance the amendment to the Respect for Marriage Act that includes language related to religious liberty and conscience protections under the Constitution and federal law. It would also continue to prohibit polygamous marriage.

This vote puts us one step closer to sending the bill to President Biden.

PS Mitt Romney voted ‘Yes,’ while lifelong “confirmed self-loathing bachelor” Lindsey Graham voted ‘No.’

A couple of weeks ago, I posted about Broderick Hunter Jr. in the Would You Hit It section of this post, and Upton said this:

“re: Broderick Hunter Jr. - I must ask, is there a Broderick Hunter Sr.? I tend to like only original issues.”

And so here is Broderick Hunter Sr. for Upton. Would He Hit It?

I spent my childhood watching "The Sound of Music" and "Cabaret", so I really thought the rise of fascism would have more show tunes.

Kanye West said he’s planning a 2024 presidential run and has tapped far-right provocateur anti-LGBTQ+ homosexual Milo Yiannopoulos to work on his campaign. He has also asked white supremacist Nick Fuentes, with whom he dined at Mar-Illegal with Thing 45, to help him run for office.

Let that sink in … the anti-Semite has asked a an anti-LQBTQ+ queer man and a Nazi to help him run for public office.

Supervisors in Arizona’s Maricopa County voted unanimously to certify their election canvass ahead of a state deadline on Monday, defying Republican objections. The Republican-controlled board … read that again, the Republican-controlled board … ruled that no voter was disenfranchised.

Oh Kari Lake, AKA Thing 45 in a Dress, you’re a loser.

Candace Cameron Bure is the chief creative officer for the Great American Family Channel and is responding to media coverage regarding LGBTQ representation in the network’s programming. See, in a WSJ profile, journalist Ellen Gamerman asked Bure if Great American Family will feature same-sex couples as leads in its holiday content, and she “said no”:

“I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core.”

Now, Bure is accusing the media of fanning “flames of conflict and hate” by reporting on her quote.

“I would like to address my comments on Great American Family’s programming … All of you who know me, know beyond question that I have great love and affection for all people. It absolutely breaks my heart that anyone would ever think I intentionally would want to offend and hurt anyone.”

Great love and affection but your marriages don’t matter and deserve no recognition.

Fuck off, Candy.

I find Trevor Noah hotter than hot … that’s all … that’s the post. I mean, the wit, the intelligence, that smile, the accent, it all reminds me of someone, but that’s unimportant. Would You Hit It?

  1. The Tweet of the Week is absolutely right. Trust Elon Musk not to understand that.

    1. So simple, yet Musk and the Right don't get it.

  2. Well, thank goodness you have a flexible work schedule! I am definitely NOT watching the Great American Family Channel anytime soon. (Even before reading that quote it would be unlikely.)

    1. Yes, work does bend quite easily to accommodate schedules. I'm grateful for a job like that.

  3. The Oz bit is too funny. Bure is coming to realize that those people who watch her (channel? / network?) are quite diverse; alienating some of them will make success difficult. Lyndsey's vote on the marriage act was expected.

    1. I loathe that idea of "traditional couples only" and then saying you love everyone. If you loved everyone you'd show everyone.

  4. Do you suppose Carlos left the shower head that way purposely? No. Not Carlos. Right? He couldn’t have done it on purpose. Hmmm...

Poor Meh-meh Oz. He won’t be able to serve any more crudité. It'll be veggie trays for him.

      Poor Oz. Twice a loser.

  5. We've all been there: "I'm sure I told you that." Leon does it to me frequently...but chances are that I was either 1) in another room, 2) thought he was talking to himself, 3) I was deep in thought planning dinner so wasn't paying attention

  6. Don't forget "Springtime for Hitler and Germany" from the Producers and then just about everything Wagner wrote! But it's only the song from Mel Brooks' film that has a real tune and of course the whole film was complete satire. Most of Wagner is eminently forgettable.

and hope you warm up Bob!
And the Tweet of the Week - spot on!

  8. Hahaha
I love when people literally read Elon for filth on 'his' platform. So good.
And I totally agree with Tuxedo, of course. Kitty's on to something. As for the RFMA, let's hope it's not just a band-aid. I'm sure SCOTUS is gonna gut Obergefell. They're catering to the Candaces out there.
And yes, I'd let Trevor hit it. I would also let Mr. Hunter Sr. hit it, if Junior is otherwise busy...

    XOXO

    1. This whole "Elon brought back Free Speech" slays me. My speech has always been Free, but the right's Hate speech perhaps caused the problems.
I might like a triple play with Senior and Junior ....

  9. When Cochise county declared they weren't going to certify the election result for their county, the governor elect who is still the state AG told them she'd bring suit against them. Then showed them in the state constitution that their county's votes would not be counted thus giving the House seat held by a Republican to a Democrat. No impact in the larger scheme of things, but that's really what tipped the needle over to "We will certify this election."

  11. Oh, Bobulah I feel for you about the shower. Married 47 years and I still forget to check the placement of the showerhead after Balder Half has used it. Oh, the face splashes I've endured!
Broderick Hunter Sr. is sexy as hell! He looks a little like the actor Steven Williams, who is also sexy in my opinion.
Trever Noah is a cutie pie. I think he was more attractive when his hair was cropped close to his head. His accent makes up for it.
Jon Cryer's tweet is on and to the point.

  12. Aunt Pitty Pat....Lindsay Graham will never support gay issues because he is a self loathing and miserable closeted sex deprived queen...so he is taking that out on the community!!!!!

And I can just imagine the shrieks from the shower!!!!!! Poor Carlos, always in the doghouse...loved deeply but in the doghouse.

HAHAHAHA Kari Lake. Must be infuriating when your own party shoots down the crooked way you want.

    1. The shrieks may have caused the neighbors to pause and think about calling the police!!!

  14. And Trevor Donovan-90210-https://www.instagram.com/trevordonovan/- is getting shit for his working partnership with The Great American Family Channel.

"I feel people should be and believe what they want, as long as they are kind and accepting of others. For those of you who have followed me since 90210, you know my heart and character. No matter who you love, no matter what your race or religion is, you matter," he told Variety.

I guess a gig is a gig and your character and creditability should not matter. He is in the same camp as M. Pence.

  15. Hope the drive to Columbia wasn't too bad. =) I have had similar shower experiences like that but the one that almost killed me is when Mrs. Shife shaves her legs with baby oil and forgets to tell me. So I will hop in the shower later that day and almost tear my groin from trying to catch my fall in the shower because it has been turned into a god damned slip-n-slide. Good riddance to the Cameron family. Big bro Kirk is a turd as well. Take care, Bob.

    1. Luckily it was jacket and scarf and glove and knit cap weather so I was warmer than warm while down there today! But I thanks my lucky stars that Carlos has no use for baby oil in the shower!

  17. Re: The original issue... oh, I would dance beneath a disco ball with that one all night long... sigh. Yazz. And then it would be nothing but Chante' Moore and silk sheets when we get home. Sigh.

    That was sweet of you.

But the award winner? Your take on fascism. That's a meme that needs spreading, darling. I laughed so hard.

As for YE? What in the world. I am thinking some publicist is having a good laugh at our expense. Don't you? This nonsense is manufactured... that simply doesn't naturally occur. Kizzes.

  18. I would hit Trevor Noah with one of my ham-sized fists for the lazy remarks he made about the election of Rishi Sunak in Great Britain. There was no racist reaction that I noted. In fact Sunak's Asian heritage played no part whatsoever in his rise to power. As for Cleverdick Noah, he should build himself a great big wooden boat, stuff it with animals and sail off into the sunset.
