"We haven’t taken this to its ultimate conclusion. You got polygamy out there. How can we rule that polygamy is illegal when you say that homosexual marriage is legal. What is it about polygamy that’s different? Well, polygamy was outlawed because it was considered immoral according to biblical standards. But if we take biblical standards away in homosexuality, what about the other? And what about bestiality and ultimately what about child molestation and pedophilia? How can we criminalize these things and at the same time have constitutional amendments allowing same-sex marriage among homosexuals. You mark my words, this is just the beginning in a long downward slide in relation to all the things that we consider to be abhorrent."
He portrays himself as a man of God, but then he says the most hateful, unenlightened, bigoted things in the name of his god--little g.
This is a man of God? A man who says such things is no man of faith. He's a tiny pathetic loser who would rather divide us as people than unite us; a man who would compare being gay to every single deviant behavior he can mention. If this is a man of God, then I want no part of It.
But I shouldn't be surpised, he also said this:
"Lord, give us righteous judges who will not try to legislate and dominate this society. Take control, Lord! We ask for additional vacancies on the court."
"Just like what Nazi Germany did to the Jews, so liberal America is now doing to the evangelical Christians. It's no different. It is the same thing. It is happening all over again. It is the Democratic Congress, the liberal-based media and the homosexuals who want to destroy the Christians. Wholesale abuse and discrimination and the worst bigotry directed toward any group in America today. More terrible than anything suffered by any minority in history."
"I would warn Orlando that you're right in the way of some serious hurricanes, and I don't think I'd be waving those flags in God's face if I were you, This is not a message of hate -- this is a message of redemption. But a condition like this will bring about the destruction of your nation. It'll bring about terrorist bombs; it'll bring earthquakes, tornadoes, and possibly a meteor."
Sidenote: Carlos and i were visiting DisneyWorld several years ago, and after the fireworks we were leaving the park, holding hands and laughing about the day. A lesbian couple, also holding hands, inched past us and smile. From behind, I heard someone shout, "What is this? Gay Day?" To which one of the lesbians replied, "Honey EVERY day is gay day."
"(T)he feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians."
"I know this is painful for the ladies to hear, but if you get married, you have accepted the headship of a man, your husband. Christ is the head of the household and the husband is the head of the wife, and that's the way it is, period."
"I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: If there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God, you just rejected him from your city. And don't wonder why he hasn't helped you when problems begin, if they begin. I'm not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you just voted God out of your city. And if that's the case, don't ask for his help because he might not be there."
On why Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon suffered a massive stroke:
"God considers this land to be his. You read the Bible and he says 'This is my land,' and for any prime minister of Israel who decides he is going to carve it up and give it away, God says, 'No, this is mine.' ... He was dividing God's land. And I would say, 'Woe unto any prime minister of Israel who takes a similar course to appease the E.U., the United Nations, or the United States of America.' God says, 'This land belongs to me. You better leave it alone.'"
And, last but certainly not least, advocating murder:
"You know, I don't know about this doctrine of assassination, but if he thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it. It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war ... We have the ability to take him out, and I think the time has come that we exercise that ability. We don't need another $200 billion war to get rid of one, you know, strong-arm dictator. It's a whole lot easier to have some of the covert operatives do the job and then get it over with."
Pat Robertson.
it is written: You are an Asshat For All Time.
He's going to be so disappointed. There he is, at the bottom of that slide, waiting, waiting, waiting for the rest of us to slide down and we never do.
ReplyDeleteThese ultra-Christians amaze me! Here's why:
ReplyDelete1. There was polygamy in the Bible, has he never heard of Jacob marrying Leah and her sister Rachel? Has he never heard of King Solomon and his many wives?
2. A marriage is a legal contract between two people. Animals can't sign any documents nor do children have a right to sign a contract.
3. Homosexuals are not trying to convert or destroy Christians; let them live how they want and let us live as we want!
4. The Christian stand on abortion is that every living thing, even from conception has rights. But then "rights" are denied homosexuals, how hypocritical is that?
5. He forgets the 2nd part of the "Judge Not" scripture that says; "For with what judgement YOU judge others, you will also be judged." Meaning, he is pronouncing harsh judgements on gays, then he should expect harsh judgements from God and others.
6. He uses scriptures from both the Old and New Testament at will for his own interruptions. Meaning; Old Testament says you shouldn't eat pork, shell fish and meat and dairy products togather, yet he would say, that's old and not what Jesus would say. Yet he preaches what the Old Testament says about war and killing, when Jesus said you should always turn the other cheek.
Sorry to ramble... it's just IMHO!
While this guy is maddening, you know that the vast majority think he's way out of line, right? I think that most people realize that he is extremist and nasty in his views, and he's spouting off to a very small audience.
ReplyDeleteI remember that for a while there, he was really big on the retributional God, i.e., if people did what ROBERTSON thought was wrong, God was going to rain down his righteous anger upon those who opposed him. I never did figure out how he explained all those acts of nature upon small towns across the country, innocent children, and good and decent people dying of disease each and every day.
Pffttthhh. This guy isn't worth the time it takes to worry about him. It's good to call his idiocy out into the open, but guys like this don't worry me. As long as people like us keep him in check, he won't get up to too much dickens. :)
Hugs, Beth
My family was Uber religious, the summer before I started seventh grade we spent at "Heritage USA", I met Tammy Faye before the fall of their world. The only thing I can add is I bet a lot of folks have no idea that Pat Robertson taught the Bakers every thing they knew at the time. If that didn't give folks a clue twenty years ago, I don't know what will. Sheeple are just odd. Anyone that would rather listen to a "minister" and not filter it through their own brain; well they frighten me. Pat will eventually die and along with Falwell and other dinosaurs, History will tell the truth about their "ministries". I'd lay odds that in a century they'll be a footnote of shame in history books.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lunatic!! He said "polygamy was outlawed because it was considered immoral according to biblical standards." Hello!!! Try actually reading the Bible and you'll see that polygamy was not just prevelent, but encouraged to help increase the nation of Israel.
