Hey. Hey. You. You. Get Offa My Rights.

State Senator Julia Boseman, North Carolina’s only openly gay state legislator, persuaded her colleagues Tuesday to pass a measure that would help school districts curb bullying based on sexual orientation.

“This is solely to protect kids and keep them safe at school,” Boseman said, but social conservatives vowed to fight the bill because it specifically includes sexual orientation.

So, bullying is bad, but bullying because of someone's sexual orientation, or their perceived sexual orientation is okay?
“It is a way to introduce these special categories of legal protection to the state’s statutes, which, in turn, could impact laws on everything from employment to housing and even marriage,” said Rev. Mark Creech of the Christian Action League.

Reverend? Reverend? You are calling gay boys and girls, or boys and girls suspected of being gay, who are bullied--sometimes to the point of suicide--"special categories"? How dare you preach the so-called word of God while sentencing children to brutality and death at the hands of their classmates. And how dare you use it as an opportunity to further your discrimination of the LGBT community in employment, housing and marriage.

Get out of the State House and go back to the pulpit.

  1. I wonder if a child was bullied for wearing a cross - would that be okay for them? Think they'd be ready to jump in with an antibullying statue for that? You bethca!
