Architecture Wednesday: LLM House

This modern, open, expansive home in São José dos Campos, Brazil sit on a sloping plot of land that also had a large number of native trees that could not be removed, so the architects worked around the trees and down the hill to create this gorgeous home.

Not such an easy task with a home that spans a little over 12,000 square feet. The home was arranged on the hillside so that all areas, the main floor great room, the family room had a relationship with the landscape, decks, pool jungle, and river below. comprehensive views and greater intensity of light. The more intimate bedrooms and baths were set below the treetops, forming a courtyard with tree trunks.

I am in love with the openness—though the size is daunting—and the views, the pool, the kitchen, that bathtub un the master and, okay, I love it all.

  2. The inside is beautiful, the outside looks like an unfinished or crumbling old parking garage.

  3. I like the placement on the hillside and the green views. The exterior of the structure looks like an out-dated public institution. The interior space doesn't do much better other than the beautiful woods used on the floors. Thumbs down for me.

  4. I like that floating loft/second floor. Very cool. Can't imagine keeping it clean.

  5. Very brutalist, but it stands out in the middle of all the nature.
Love the floors and the open plans! And now it looks like paradise.

    XOXO
