This one of a kind—for Minneapolis because I saw many homes like this in Miami—residence sits on the shores of Cedar Lake. It is also considered to be International Style design because of the alternating effect of ribbons of glass and white stucco on the exterior, the open and light interiors, with amazing views from the back, the curved walls, and translucent glass-block windows.
The first floor features the living room with a double-sided fireplace that opens to a sitting room, a dining area, kitchen and breakfast nook and a family. The second floor has the secondary bedrooms and baths with views to the lake while the entire third floor is the primary suite including a spacious bedroom, marble bathroom with heated floor and steam shower, sitting room with two-sided fireplace, glass-blocked dressing room, and a private terrace overlooking the lake.
It’s a little South Florida in Minnesota.

ReplyDeleteA black toilet - I think that is
a first!
xoxo :-)
My parents once had a dark brown toilet in the master bathroom.
DeleteDon't get me started on that!!!

Looks a bit like a hospital. The red helps, but still.
ReplyDeleteGet a can of paint and splash some more red around?
DeleteThen it would look like a slasher got loose in the hospital and went on a killing spree! Great site for a horror flick.
DeleteMight look cool, and would keep away the riff-raff.
DeleteSo pristine! Doesn't look lived in. Fancy, tho.
ReplyDeleteIt does give off the look-but-don't-touch vibe.
DeleteYou are right!
ReplyDeleteIt's like South Beach up North. And I love me some glass blocks. I love the idea of white with splashes of color, but the upkeep would drive me crazy.
Love the mural in the bedroom (and they have a -spare- spare bedroom?). The kitchen floor is a choice though...
XOXO
I'm with you on that floor. WHY??????
Deletexoxo
When I was young and had my childhood doctor, it looks like a dead replica of my doctor's building that I used to go to. I also think the inside and outside could pass for a Sanitarium. Much too modern for me. The highlight of this house for me were the two bathrooms. I wonder whoever buys it will they get straight jackets?
ReplyDeleteHere's me: I like the style, and the kind of cruise ship vibe, and I LOVE the property.
DeleteBut the kitchen floor and the glass block I cannot handle.
Way too much white!
ReplyDeleteNothing a can of paint can't ix.
DeleteI love it! You didn't mention a price. I'm not moving to Minnesota. Do they ship?
ReplyDeleteIt's the prefect house for the coast of Spain.
DeleteI don't know if they ship, but the price has been reduced from $3.395M TO $3.2M.
Very nice
ReplyDeleteIt does have a little something ...
DeleteI know this house! And its interior mirrors its exterior. What a show palace. Love all the art work, though I don't know if carpets should compete with art on the wall. I love the interior. Even the furnishings. The exterior is classic and I've always wondered what the back of the house looked like. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteFor me the backyard is its greatest selling point.
DeleteI love the home. The interior looks a little too uptight and squared away. Maybe lessen the severity and let the house breath/exhale a little. I know it's the style but I would like to change out the glass block. I love light BUT I also want to see out. The kitchen floor is different BUT may get old quick. I could do surgery on that kitchen counter top. I am glad that when I pay for it with my trust fund the place will be empty and I can add my touches. White is ok but lets add some color. Love the outside property and it even has a little docking station for my paddle boat.
ReplyDeleteThe glass block and the kitchen floor need to go STAT!
DeleteI leaves me cold, maybe I could fix it with some color. Seriously 3.2-million and it has a counter top microwave?
ReplyDeleteI agree it needs some color and that kitchen needs some dynamite from the floor to the ceiling.
