I Didn't Say It

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, president of Ukraine, to those who offered to help him get out to the country:

"I need ammunition, not a ride."

This is a leader. Our last president crawled into a secret room under the White House when protesters came marching down his street, while GOP asshat Ted Cruz tried to escape to Mexico when his constituents in Texas were freezing and starving during a massive power outage.

In a world of Thing 45’s and Ted Cruz’s, be a Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Ron Johnson, tinfoil hat wearing GOP loon from Wisconsin, on who is at fault for the Ukraine invasion [hint: it ain’t Putin]:

“I do not think Vladimir Putin would have moved on Ukraine if it were not for the weakness displayed certainly by the Biden administration, but also by the west in general. And I’m certainly hoping that Vindman, Adam Schiff, Nancy Pelosi, who used Ukraine as a pawn in their impeachment travesty, are also recognizing and reflecting they weakened Ukraine. They weakened the west, weakened America by the divisive politics that they play. There’s much blame to go around.”

Johnson is so QAnon’d that he has forgotten it was Thing 45 who withheld military aid from Ukraine, and it was Thing 45 who demanded a “favor” from Zelenskyy in exchange for the aid, and it was Thing 45 who weakened Ukraine.

And it was Senator Johnson who voted to acquit in the impeachment hearings, so maybe Ron should take a good long seat.. Sit this one out, Senator.

Mitt Romney, Utah’s GOP Senator, on Congressmembers Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar speaking at a white nationalist event in Florida:

“I’m reminded of that old line from the Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid movie. One character says, ‘Morons. I’ve got morons on my team.’ I have to think anybody that would sit down with white nationalists and speak at their conference was certainly missing a few IQ points.”

Morons who spoke in front of racists and then acted like they had no idea.

Serious morons.

Elliot Page, trans actor, condemning Texas government officials for declaring that medical care for transgender youths is child abuse:

“I am horrified by the inhumane and downright dangerous declarations by the Texas Governor and Attorney General. Trans youth deserve gender-affirming care and to be able to live their true, authentic selves without fear and oppression. I stand with trans youth and their families.”

Texas. It’s hate and fear and loathing as long as the GOP is in charge. They won’t fix their electric grid issues or stem the tide of mass shootings, but they will punish parents of trans kids and trans kids.

It’s sickening.

Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, on GOP loons Lauren Boebert  and Marjorie Taylor Greene—AKA TweedleDumb and TweedleNazi—heckling President Biden during his State of the Union address:

"I agree with what Senator Lindsey Graham said. Shut up. That's what he said to them. I think they should just shut up."

Sadly, these two mean girls, still stuck in their mean girl high school phase, think anyone cares what gibberish they spout.

We don’t care.

photo

Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Kimmel Live! host, on GOP Senator Marco Rubio skipping the State of the Union address because he didn’t want to take the required Covid-19 test:

“If they swab his nose, it would probably test positive for [Thing 45’s] butt.”

Or they might put the swab so far up his nose they’d find out what we’ve all suspected for years: Rubio’s head is empty.

photo

Seth Meyers, host of Late Night, on hyenas Boebert and Greene’s childish antics during Biden’s State of the Union speech:

“[Their actions] might make you angry but if I’ve learned any one thing from watching Real Housewives, it’s that two white ladies this erratic will eventually turn on one another. All these people want is attention and they’re willing to do anything to get it, including yelling at the president during an address to the nation. And look, I don’t care that much about decorum. I do care about not being annoying, and these two are some of the most annoying people I’ve ever seen on the national stage. I mean, they’re like a non-stop national hangnail.”

They’re pathetic because they have nothing to offer the country other than outbursts and ignorance.

  1. You have to view the world through an extraordinary lens to think that Putrid crushing Ukraine is a wonderful idea. We can only hope that Putrid's dreams do NOT come true. It is more likely that the defenders will be worn down as their country is ripped to pieces and devastated in front of their eyes.

    Viewing Putrid as a hero is soft porn gone mad. Presumably people like Margarine and Bubblehead get overexcited when they see their hero standing up to the USA. I am not sure why they think it patriotic to diss the current President of the United States because he is not orange.

  5. Who ever thought that Zelensky, a former comedian and Dancing with the Stars contestant, would become a moral compass for the world.

    The only thing Greene and Boebert are good at is getting the high school dropout vote... that is if they vote.

    I do think Kimmel hit the nail on the head.

  6. I am always relieved when I find 'liberal' Americans in the Blogworld. So much of the news from the US depicts nasty people, the sort who make you want the US would just go away.
    So thank you for being the man you are.

  7. America's right wing certainly provides you with some "interesting" people to write about. Shame that Mr Biden confused Ukrainians with Iranians during his State of the Union address. I wish he was ten years younger but at least he isn't the last one.

  8. I read on a blog that a lip reader saw Miss Lindy and interpreted it as "Oh FUCK!!" Now if they would just get their shit together and do some censuring/removing - - but I'm afraid that's too much to hope for at this point

  9. Thank you! It's good to be reminded that the voices of sanity are far stronger (and certainly more intelligent) than the brayings of the "mean girls" and their cronies! xo

    He’s a tiny little man trying to prove he’s a strong man, but strong men have no need to bully, intimidate or attack. I do believe that some in hic country will join forces and remove him. My fingers are crossed.

    @Debra
    That should be a very interesting read.

    @TDM
    He deserves all our support.
    xoxo

    @Maddie
    He’s showing what leadership looks like; nice to see.
    Miss Lindsey, for all her faults, doesn’t take these kinds of things lightly.
    Elliot is spot on; we need more voiced like his.

    @Dave
    Zelenskyy proves you cannot judge a book by its cover.
    TweedleDumb and TweedleNazi are attention seeking morons.

    @Friko
    Sadly, the liberal minds may not get the news because the crackpots are more interesting … and dumb.

    @Yorkshire
    Yes they do. This week alone an Arizona state Senator was censured for speaking at a White Nation alist event and she spun it that the government was attacking a white lady. True.

    @jsstrand
    I wouldn’t be surprised if Miss Lindsey didn’t drop an f-bomb on those two fools. But the GOP as a whole won’t do anything to censure those two because of Thing 45.

    @savannah
    The crazies get the most news time these days, sad to say. I hope one day that will change.

  11. good ones today

  12. Agree with that last statement. Can't wait for them to go away.

    Ron Johnson is so out of touch, I am amazed he's not been committed to a home.

    Sad state of affairs. This is the new normal?
