The Funny Papers ... But First RIP Chadwick Boseman
Chadwick Boseman died over the weekend, following a three-year battle with colon cancer. He was an amazing actor—Marshall, Get On Up, 42 and, of course, The Black Panther, among many others—many of which he filmed while he was ill.
A smart, compassionate, talented, beautiful man, taken too soon.
Very telling, very graphic. I wonder if, at a future date, art museums will have exhibits devoted to the power of the meme or political graphic. This is an interesting time... graphically. Nothing like it since WWII. Nice collection. Thank you for sharing.
I wish Tucker would go take a long walk off a short pier. Really, truly, just go away. And that last one, I so hope it's true. The "cure" can't happen soon enough.
I got a big jolt in my heart when I heard about Chadwick Boseman's death. He was the same age as my oldest son. I must say it hurt. I still cheer myself up by watching his appearance on SNL. I don't watch the show, but his appearance as T'Challa in the Black Jeopardy sketch can be found on YouTube, and I laugh out loud every time I watch it. R.I.P. Loved the Karens. My neighbor's name is Karen. She's both the noun and the adjective.
@uptonking That would be an amazing exhibition of our times and struggles.
@AM Yes. Cast a goddamned vote.
@Debra It was, and so surprising to see the amount of film work he did while battling cancer.
@Sadie Sadly, until Fucker starts costing Fox money, he'll most likely stay there.
@Todd Indeed.
@Deedles I felt the same way. I think I have seen everything he's done, and many interviews, and always found him so compassionate and smart and passionate. I work with a Karen, the noun and the adjective.
Gosh, which one to choose! Sadly they are all indicative of just how disgusting this administration is. That being said, I still think I'd have to chose the Munsters because that's what the whole Trump family is - except there's nothing endearing about them!
@Dave Well, the Karens outnumber the Kens ... for now!
@Treaders It's a tough decision, eh?
@Jim The Kenosha one hits hard. I blame him for these riots, because if we had a leader who wanted to do something about the Black men being murdered by police,he'd do something. He doesn't cares because he's a racist.
Chadwick Boseman was the news I did not want to hear. Kenosha, man, fucking Kenosha. And those relating to the RNC? On point. On absolute point. People need to vote for Biden en masse. Really.

The Republican speaker line-up is great, though I think they forgot Ken.
