Architecture Wednesday: Deloia

It looked a little like a tract home from the street view, but the light chimneys seen from the street gave a hint that it wasn’t so ordinary inside.

The home is divided into three structures which are interconnected by glass hallways that create two distinct—and yet still connected—courtyards, one oriented toward the lake and the other tucked into the graduated slope of the hill at the front.

The interior is spacious and brightly illuminated, with clear glass walls that allow natural light to flow freely, while also blurring the lines between indoors and outdoors.

I love how the windows frame the views, from inside to outside, and from outside to inside.

It’s clean and modern and filled with like, and not at all ordinary, though not at all fussy either.

  2. I just knew I was going to love this one. The use of the design of the windows is cool, but my favorite design element is that outdoor fireplace. That is just too cool. Of course around this house I'd have to remember to wear some clothes!!!

  3. Great spaces. Probably couldn’t stroll naked for a midnight snack though.
