Lawrence O’Donnell, liberal political commentator, and host
of The Last Word, on what liberals have done for
America:
“What did Liberals do that was so offensive to the
Republican Party? I’ll tell you what they did. Liberals got women the right to
vote. Liberals created Social Security and lifted millions of elderly people
out of poverty. Liberals ended segregation. Liberals passed the Civil Rights
Act, the Voting Rights Act. Liberals created Medicare. Liberals passed the
Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act. What did Conservatives do? They opposed Liberals on every one of those
things, every one. So when you try to hurl that label at my feet, as if
it were something to be ashamed of, something dirty, something to run away
from, it won’t work because I will pick that label up and wear it as a badge of
honor.”
Yeah, call me a liberal and think you’re hurting me.
I’d rather be a liberal any day of the week than support a
group of billionaire brats, rapists and racists and criminals.

You can bet when the dump is on office, the blue state of California will get no relief funds...and if he gets his way FEMA will be a thing of the past. It will be another way to get rid of and suppress the middle and poor classes.
ReplyDeleteAnd Bernie gets it and always has.
California should secede from the union and take all the money it pays Red states, and it's economy and federal taxes.
DeleteMichelle Visage for the win!
ReplyDeleteI just love her.
DeleteThe only one there who doesn't ring 100% is Nichols.... Only because The Felon has surrounded himself with some who will be incompetent, but not all. Some will be wily enough to subvert the institutions. Red States outnumber the Blue and will work to help bring about the downfall. The Blue ones may have to resort to secession.
ReplyDelete'Course, I could be wrong; it's been known to happen.
I kind of agree with Nichols. I think The Felon's ego and stupidity will do him in, along with the infighting in the GOP and the MAGAt Cult.
DeleteHWSNBN will hurt most the ones who love him, and voted for him.
ReplyDeleteSadly, those who voted for him won't realize how he's hurting them and will still stand with him.
DeleteI have no desire to eat the rich, but I wouldn't mind running the deep fryer. Nichols is right, the outrageousness of this administration will be its downfall. Prices will continue to rise because the Oligarchy has no desire to take a cut in pay. Newsom Rocks.
ReplyDeleteThe rich need to be eaten with taxes.
DeleteWell, we’re gonna get an oligarchy populated by techbros and spoiled billionaires. But Nichols is right. They can be voted out. It’s gonna be ugly, but they can be beat.
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Sixpence
There are some courts that will stump The Felon and I think some in his own party. And if the Dems refuse to help the GOP that will sink them further.

🥰 Betty Bowers kept me smiling (as much as possible) during Administration #45. I saw a wonderful meme the other day with a photo of the Mexican bomberos proudly getting ready to head to the fire line. Under the photo was the hysterical/triggering statement:
ReplyDelete"They're saving the dogs...They're saving
the cats...They're saving the pets and
the people who live there." Booyah! 🤣🤣
Betty Bowers has always been a funny common sense figure!
Deletethe dog's mother
ReplyDeletexoxo :-)
Politicians may be elected by one group of voters, but they are meant to govern on behalf of all peoples in the country not just the people who can give enough money to ensure they are freed of all responsibilities including paying tax. It's better to pay tax rather than pay for an orange jerk to cavort with the Village People.
ReplyDeleteSadly Helen.....we have a lot of dumb ass voters who don't understand that.
DeleteIt's We The People and those pols that don't get it need to be removed from office by, wait for it, We The People.
DeleteI've never understood the use of the word "liberal" as an epithet. It's a compliment.
ReplyDeleteAnd I mostly agree with Tom Nichols. I think the Trumpers will tear each other apart. They're venal children being led by the most venal child of them all.
I'm with you, 100%.
DeleteThe danger is that Trump in cahoots with the Federalist Society and other organizations of their ilk, has corrupted our court system at all levels.
ReplyDeleteYou cannot have justice with corrupted and criminalistics courts, as justice will be denied. :(
-Rj
But even some of his own court appointees have ruled against and will continue to do so ... I see a rough road ahead for bloated ignorance.
DeleteI'm going to keep believing that there are MORE of us than there are of them! It's going to be a tough 4 years that's for sure. I'm hoping that the mid-terms will change the make-up of the House. xoxo
ReplyDeleteAnd we better show up. Democrats are notorious for not showing up in numbers for midterms.
DeleteWhat you said, and what Maddie said!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
DeletePerhaps California, Oregon and Washington should secede and become Canadian provinces?
ReplyDeleteI've heard rumblings of such a thing!
DeleteThe very wise Sanders and the calling it as it is, O'Donnell.
ReplyDeleteTruth.
DeleteBernie Sanders should've been president in 2016 😔
ReplyDeleteMany thought he was far too progressive in '16. Funny how times change ...
DeleteI do love people who can sensibly talk sense.
ReplyDeleteIt seems to be a rare commodity these days.
DeletePeople who do not have a lot of money are somehow not bothered by giving what they do have to President Melon Musk and his wife, Dawn, and they are not bothered by Melon and Dawn and other ridiculously wealthy people not paying taxes or only paying a very small amount. Go figure. They don't care that these people lie. They think they are honest. They think Melon and Dawn's shit doesn't stink. I never cease to be amazed by the heights of stupidity they all reach--both the voters and those they vote for.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
It's because they all hate the same things; they are bound by racism and hatred.
DeleteSo much intelligence and wit here, but Michelle Visage is a goddess.
ReplyDeleteI do love that woman!
DeleteOff the point, but I'm so glad the hullabaloo will be restricted to indoors on Monday. It won't stop the bombast, but will contain it.
ReplyDeleteI am, too, though I will not be watching.
