Your know how I feel. the whole company can fucking burn to the ground...crash and burn bitch. It's a disgusting and greedy company and has made people incredibly lazy. And throws on some crocs to keep the fires burning.
I felt the same about WalMart and only go there as a Last Resort (it's the only store in New Mexico that has Nabisco ORIGINAL Graham Crackers in the red box which I must have to feed my addiction). I could never understand how so many of my liberal friends shop at WalMart.
When I think about the ethical choices when it comes to boycotts and the like, they are never really black or white. Are we making a difference? Are we making the kind of difference we intended?
I do order from Amazon, not often as we are not good All-American consumers, but during the pandemic it was safer than going into a store. I'm not sure my measly few dollars is going to even be noticed by Bezos. What I spend in a year, barely buys his breakfast for one day. I do think that what may have an effect is keeping his disgraceful employment practices in the light of day and publicly shaming him often.
And of course, ensuring that Biden's tax on the wealthiest gets passed.
@Maddie Worse, is that Bezos doesn't care that he's seen as the worst boss ever and a self-entitled 1%-er prick.
@Boots I find that anything you can get on Amazon you can get elsewhere and I'd rather do that.
@TDM Big enough for his ego AND his wallet.
@Helen I have other words for it, too.
@Frank We used to use Walmart to buy Boboli pizza crust because that was the only place to buy 'em, but now our local market carries them so, see ya Wally. I earned a while back that the things you buy on Amazon you can buy on other sites, notably the manufacturers site, and they will often give you a discount or the Amazon pricing. It takes a bit longer to search but keeping my few coins out of Bezos' pocket is worth it!
I avoid it at all costs. Really. I'd rather get in the car and go to Target/some store around here. I also avoid Whole Paycheck. It all goes to Bezos' pocket.
FUCK AMAZON!

ReplyDeleteI utilize Amazon a LOT. I mean a LOT a LOT a LOT. But, if it's any consolation, I feel guilty every time I click "order".
ReplyDeleteThat is some yacht!
ReplyDeletexoxo :-)
Only one word for it - obscene

XOXO
Amazon offers me access to things I can't find locally.
ReplyDeleteBezos should be ashamed of himself. I say we eat him first!
ReplyDelete@Six
ReplyDeleteI cannot remember the last time I ordered from Amazon; it's been years.
@Dave
But they can be found and purchased from other sites that aren't screwing their employees while the boss builds a boat.
@upton
A little hot sauce on that bald head will help!
