House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy was asked if he was concerned about elevating Elise Stefanik to GQP leadership after she also pushed The Big Lie, and he said:
“I don’t think anybody is questioning the legitimacy of the presidential election.”
Except that the woman you just promoted just did, asshat.
Video of the Capitol insurrection by those homegrown domestic terrorists show that some who battled with police wore trademark MAGAt and waved huge pro-Thing #45 flags, but South Carolina, where it’s not the heat, it’s the stupidity, Representative Ralph Norman disputed the claims that the insurrectionist traitors supported the last guy:
“I don’t know who did the poll to say they were Trump supporters.”
The poll? Howsabout the fact that they marched from the White House after his rally wearing his hats and waving his flags? And if you don’t think that means they supported him, give us another explanation that makes senses.
:::crickets:::
GQP Representative Paul Gosar of Arizona is defending Ashli Babbitt, a woman who was shot and killed by the Capitol Police as she tried to break into the House chamber during the 6 insurrection, saying she was murdered:
“As the death certificate says, it was a homicide. Who executed Ashli Babbitt? My constituents demand answers. But the truth is being censored and covered up. As a result, the DOJ is harassing peaceful patriots across the country. Without accurate answers, conspiracies continue to form.”
Hey Paul? Ashli Babbitt was a terrorist who broke into the Capitol and terrorized you and your colleagues while marching with people who wished to murder the Vice President, people who defecated on wall, people who stole government property.
You constituents should demand to know why you support terrorism.
GQP Representative Andrew Clyde of Georgia said that calling the called the January 6 riots an “insurrection” was a "bald-faced lie" and likened the rioters to tourists:
"This hearing is called the Capitol insurrection. Let's be honest with the American people: it was not an insurrection, and we cannot call it that and be truthful."
Even better is that Clyde quoted from two dictionaries including the Cambridge English Dictionary, which defines an insurrection as "an organized attempt by a group of people to defeat their government and take control of their country usually by violence." Is he seriously that ignorant? Yes, because he also said this:
"As one of the members who stayed in the Capitol and on the House floor and who, with other Republican colleagues, helped barricade the door until almost 3 pm that day from the mob who tried to enter, I can tell you, the House floor was never breached and it was not an insurrection."
But the mob was just tourists, Andy, so why hide behind a barricaded door?
Oh, traitor.
Funnily enough your comment about Andrew Clyde's claim to be barricading the door [to tourists?] was the same as mine; no insurrection so why the barricade?
ReplyDeletePUNCH ALL THOSE FUCKING NAZIS!
ReplyDeleteI would go tell them to go choke on my dick, but I'm surprisingly peculiar who chokes on it.
ReplyDeleteI will never feel bad for Ashli Babbitt. She made her poor choice and decision to par-take in this riot... she paid for it. Cry me a river.
And Ill stop with my thoughts right there for the day with what should happen.
This didn't make my headache better, Bobulah! Massive eyerolls are painful! After reading the title of this post, I was expecting to just see a picture of a putrid pile of poo. That would've saved time.
ReplyDelete@Helen
ReplyDeleteClearly Clyde feels terrorized by tourists.
@AM
They lie so easily, and without so much as a thought.
@Maddie
Ashli sadly got what she deserved when you bust into a federal building with a mob.
@Deedles
But poo can be useful; these asshats? Not so much!
Sending a virtual headache healing hug!
Idiots! Gosar makes me especially insane, promoting the idea that Ashlee Babbitt was some kind of freedom-fighter. She was a domestic terrorist. As for Norman, I'm assuming he's pushing the debunked falsehood that the Capitol rioters were "Antifa" in disguise.
ReplyDeleteThe whole thing was amazing crazy
ReplyDeletebut then you remember ______ and
his antics and lies...
@Steve
ReplyDeleteI just love that Clyde hid from what he now calls tourists BEHIND a barricaded door!
@TDM
They follow thier leader no matter how insane!
Liars and traitors every one. And not even good liars. And nice finish with Andrew Clyde of Georgia saying he barricaded the door against a mob, but it wasn't an insurrection. Yes, tourists can be scary.
ReplyDelete@Mitchell'They were all bad, but Clyde is stupid and a liar.
ReplyDelete"Without accurate answers, conspiracies continue to form." Is true.
ReplyDeleteBut also >With< accurate answers, conspiracies continue to form.
What can you do???
@Jake
ReplyDeleteWe can call out the liars for their lies and vote them from office, hoping we don't elect another liar t take their place.
The Repugs are trying to re-write history by making it seem the insurrection was some turist-y event. The GQP is really now the party of Cheeto. Barf.
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Don't know if you've seen it or not, but there's a picture of Clyde helping to barricade the door to keep the Tourists out.
ReplyDelete@Six
ReplyDeleteSadly, true, which is why we take them to task.
"Excuse me, Clyde? Why'd you barricade yourself against tourists?"
@Dave
Oh, I've seen it.
Wow... I have not witnessed this kind of mass denial since the George W. and Dick Cheney days. Oh, they were reupuglicans, too, right?
ReplyDeleteRight.
