“You know, Don, you said this meeting was embarrassing. I think quite frankly what’s embarrassing is the condescension you’ve shown to Kanye West, someone who I think is a brave, independent thinker, a creative genius. Does he speak in a different vernacular? Of course he does like a lot of artists. It’s one I don’t always understand but I do understand he’s a great thinker. And for you and a lot of guests to dismiss him as a ‘token negro’ and question his mental stability when you’re not doctors, you haven’t examined him, I think is really unfortunate. And it’s an example unfortunately that is all too common on the left which is liberal- when a minority doesn’t tow the party line, they are vilified and dismissed … You said earlier today this was a minstrel show …I mean, could you be any more condescending to this man?”
I love the fact that he calls Kanye a great thinker but that he doesn’t understand the things Kanye says.
Part of being a great thinker is making yourself understood.

Jimmy Kimmel, on _____’s op-ed for USA Today which was riddled with lies and misleading claims about his promise to remove Obamacare and replace it with “something” better:
“You didn’t keep that promise. That promise was forced on you because John McCain gave you the finger and so you weren’t able to not keep that promise. That’s not keeping a promise. And yes, rates will go down in some states but they would have gone down even further in all states if you and your buddies hadn’t spent the last year trying to cripple the plan we have now. This is claiming you saved people from drowning after you put a hole in the side of the ship. It’s just a lie. It’s another lie.”
Remember, _____ said, before and after the election, that he would repeal Obamacare and replace it with something else.
He repealed it, but there is no replacement. And now he and the GOP are trying to kill Medicare and Medicaid to pay for the huge deficit they caused.

“It’s a free country, you can say what you want to say, I don’t care. I don’t think much about what she says at all. If she wants to live her life that way. It’s up to her. To the extent that it matters, I’m not gay … Belittling people is not as funny as it used to be, and that’s a good thing.”
So, calling someone gay is belittling them, Miss Lindsey?

Colin Powell, former Secretary of State, saying _____ cannot a moral leader because his mantra is “Me the President":

Unfortunately, it’s the kind of insult, personal, childish and mean, that people have become so accustomed to with this president that it barely registered as news, but it renders the first lady’s “Be best” campaign, anti-bullying effort, pointless and satirical and Ivanka’s _____ stated mission of being some sort of an ambassador for women a pointless joke. How could these women or any woman in the White House pretend they work for anyone other than a very loud-mouthed and very thin-skinned bully? It also shows that bashing women, even an alleged victim of a sexual assault, is more than a quirk to _____’s personality. It’s a political strategy he thinks is a winner.”
If you see a crime and say nothing, you are aiding and abetting a crime, an accomplice of sorts.
When Republicans, and some Democrats, say nothing about the vile things _____ has said about women, they are implying that they stand with him.

I totally agree with Lemon about Kayne. I feel sad for K and worry about what he may do to his family if/when he goes completely off the rails. This is not going to end well.
ReplyDeletewhen someone acts insane 99% of the time there comes a point when you have to think, maybe his behaviour is telling me something and with Ye, or whatever he calls himself this hour, the tells have been out there for a long time. No wonder mental health is so badly funded across the world if people like the brain of Cortes cannot tell the difference between unusual and aberrant behaviour.

Off his meds Kanye can and probably will be a danger to himself and others. My ex brother-in-law was mentally ill (bipolar), refused to take his meds because he wanted to drink. Subsequently, he took a butcher knife and killed my sister because she was talking. This man needs help!

ReplyDeleteAnd I don't think one has to be an old, unhip white dude to look at that rant he gave in the Oval Office and think, "This is embarrassing and he is out of his mind." (I'm talking about Kanye again, not the other guy who does embarrassing rants in the Oval Office...)
