This home, designed and built in San Francisco by celebrated architect August Headman, over 100 years ago, looks as it was originally designed and constructed. It sits on the eastern edge of the Presidio Wall and enjoys Bay and City views to the north and east, and verdant forests of the Presidio to the west.
In just a hair over 4500 square feet, there are large formal public rooms, four bedrooms, three full and one-half bathrooms, office, media room, elevator—from the entry level to all three floors, panoramic view balconies and rooftop terrace—there is no yard, per se; in addition, there is a separate entrance to a finished lower-level room, perfect for use as a music room or meditation space.
Lyon Street has been home to families, both real and imagined—it was featured in The Princess Diaries—since the 1920s and can be yours for just $7,900,000.
Fit for a princess.
Whoa.
ReplyDeleteThose floors! And the views must be stunning. I will have to go back to The Princess Diaries to check the reference LOL.
That bathtub got me, though. I had to zoom in to make sure it was not a daybed!
XOXO
I like the exterior, but the inside is very "cream of wheat" and needs some better furnishings and more color. Now that rooftop?
DeleteYes, ma'am.
xoxo
Lovely! I would want shades in the bathroom, tho (blushing)!
ReplyDeleteI agree, I am not THAT much of an exhibitionist.
DeleteLet me check my bank account.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget the sofa cushions.
DeleteI remember that house! Would absolutely love it AND would immediately get to redecorating.
ReplyDeleteI love it too, but would need to bring some life to the inside.
Deletethe dog's mother
ReplyDeleteLoverly views!
xoxo :-)
And that neighborhood. Love.
Deletexoxo
It looks better inside than out, but not my style overall. I'm more minimalist than that!
ReplyDeleteI like the outside better, because the inside borders on plain. But there isn't much of a yard, unless you count the rooftop!
DeleteIt better with a large staff contingency. I'd hate to be the one to clean that much space. It's lovely though.
ReplyDeleteYes, I would need round-the clock help!!!
DeleteElegant and boring. I must want to live in a psychedelic shack (cue The Temptations).
ReplyDeleteDuchess Deedles, I 100% agree with you; I like it, but it's dull. It needs some punch, some pizazz, some spark ... yes, cue the Temps!
DeleteThe home is nice. I like the layout. I could put my stink on it. The roof deck is super. I could sit up there all day with those views. That bathroom is huge. I love the gay mecca of SF BUT it is too cold. I need temperatures to hit in the 80s now then. I read SF does get temperatures in the 90s a few times a year BUT the average temperature in the fair city is in the 70s.
ReplyDeleteHaving gone to school here, I could easily live there again; I'd live on the roof, though, while the interiors were given a little zip update. It's all a bit too staid for me.
DeleteNope. Don't feel bad, Im hard to please today. The exterior is stunning and the grounds...the inside looks to dated and gawdy for me...very Euro glam of the 80's or Fresh Prince of Bel -Air.
ReplyDeleteSee, I feel the same; the exterior and the rooftop, I love, but the interior is plain and old.
DeleteWhere is that PowerBall ticket? I'd want to add an elevator.
ReplyDeleteI'll save you some coins ... there's already an elevator off the kitchen, from the garage level to the third floor.
DeleteInteresting house. It's all too heavy, though. Love the rooftop. Everything else? The one living space is alright - but too much heavy wood. It also reminds me of a hotel...
