Charlie
Sykes, conservative
political pundit, on McCarthy and his spot at leader of the GOP:
“Well, you know, what’s interesting about Kevin McCarthy’s
groveling and lying about this particular incident is the nature of his lie. I
mean, think about this. What he’s saying is, you know, ‘No, I didn’t really
have a moment of decency, principle and duty, I never did anything about it,
and I got over it very, very quickly.' Not only does he have to continue to lie
about it, he has a pretend that one of those brief moments where he had some
clarity about what was right and what was wrong needs to be memory-holed, so,
yes, the Republicans have created an alternative reality. Things have gotten
much, much worse than I expected, and I was not an optimist back then. It’s
accelerated because [Thing 45] keeps raising the ante ... ‘How far can I push people? What
can I get you to say? What can I get you to apologize for?' So it’s not
surprising that we wake up on Monday morning and find that [Thing 45] is
completely happy to have the next speaker of the House of Representatives,
possibly, on his knees, apologizing to him and acknowledging that he has no
political future except by believing and repeating [Thing 45’s] lies … [and] Republicans
are more than willing to go along with this.”
When you bend over for a liar, you are fucked. Literally.

The interesting thing about narcissists is how they need besotted admirers to applaud everything they do or say and thus reflect their own glory. The other interesting fact is that people are prepared to abase themselves and literally do everything to attract attention from the narcissist they have sold their souls to (or even their soles if, like McCarthy, they don't have a soul).
ReplyDeleteKeep on speaking the truth, Elizabeth Warren!
ReplyDeleteShe doesn't mince words often, does she?
DeleteMcCarthy is a liar and a weasel, but so are most repugs. No surprise, seeing him kissing Cheeto's ring.
ReplyDeleteAnd the conservative battle against abortion goes on. Ugh. I don't have a uterus and even I want them to stay off people's bodies and right to choose if they want to have a child or not.Enough already!
And this: Judge Juicebox. LMAOOOO Perf.
XOXO
McCarthy is a typical GOPer who cannot tell the truth even if it saved the country.
DeleteJudge Juicebox just kinda came to me and I like it!

Interesting and alarming reading.
ReplyDeletexoxo :-)
Strange days, these days.

Well, this certainly a sour faced bunch of unhappy people.
ReplyDeleteI know, right. I mean, I like Warren but I found that Pissy Faced picture of her and just had to use it because I'm a terrible person.
DeleteI just finished reading all of this week's posts here and, sweetpea, you are not only prolific but spot on every single damn day! Very quickly (because his image is burnt on my retinas) yes, I would hit that aka Yorky Burgos (just don't mention that to the MITM) and I.Love.Elizabeth.Warren! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks ma'am!
DeleteI'll keep your Yorky secret!
xoxo
Unfortunately Mccarthy could be House Speaker soon
ReplyDeleteShudder.
DeleteI don't think Sykes hit the nail pretty squarely on the head. Republicans are so lost in their own little world they recognize very little of reality, and if they ever truly come into power, they will create a clusterfuck very few of them will survive.
ReplyDeleteWarren, too, knows how to swing a hammer!
I just read that some podcast guy was interviewing MAGAts and one said that she KNEW that Joe Biden was dead, and that the "Joe Biden" we've been seeing is really Jim Carey.
DeleteAnd.She.Was.Serious.
Looking over from the east side of The Pond, I feel sorry that Elizabeth Warren didn't get the Democrats' presidential ticket in the last election. She comes across as articulate, principled and brave... but I might be wrong. Most politicians have skeletons in their wardrobes.
ReplyDeleteShe has some faults that were used against her, and she felt a little too progressive--not that I minded--for some folks.
DeletePlus, she's a woman you know and they're just too moody and unstable to hold high office [sarcasm font]
Adore Elizabeth Warren. I always thought she was a better VP choice - and was my presidential choice. She tells it like it is - no holds barred.
ReplyDeleteLike most GOP - Schmidt is talking out of the side of her neck. What she says makes zero sense and is somewhat an oxymoron. Emphasis on the last two syllables.
Sykes. I hope more conservatives have the guts to claim the truth about the GOP. The party of liars, cheats, racists, traitors and cowards.
Pirro buys all her makeup at the dollar store. That's her idea of an economy. Fox needs better snake oil salespeople.
And, because the world is run on soundbites and news cycles, McCarthy's actions and words will be forgotten and he will be reelected as a GOP hero. Life is unfair. Yep.
Kizzes.
