Architecture Wednesday: White Sail

This clean-lined home is an update of an older bungalow that used to sit on the property in Corona Del Mar; but that house was taken down to the studs and transformed into a beautiful mid-century modern house full of light and air.

This split-level design of White Sails draws you either up into the primary living space, kitchen, dining, and pool, along with an expansive master bedroom and guest suite, or down a flight of stairs to the entertainment level that features a media lounge and bar with a wine room fit for a connoisseur.

Wine room.

White Sails is 5,720 square feet, with four bedrooms, six bathrooms, an elevator—cuz who wants to climb stairs after relaxing in the wine room—and a  four-car garage with incredible views spanning from Newport Harbor to Catalina.

It’s bright and white and airy and spacious, with, again, a wine room!

  1. I think I maybe like this one. Could use a touch of color, maybe red? It gives me a kind of melancholy feeling, though. Weird.

  2. Not bad!
I lived in a house with an
    elevator once. The parents
let us ride in it once and
    then it was locked up.

  3. I love it.
I can imagine they just opened their wallet and let the architects and the interior designers go at it. It' stunning. I love the split level idea. And a wine room? Yes.

    XOXO

  6. The white furniture is a bit much, and I am so fussy about kitchens, overhead cabinets, some of us don't bend over very well.
