I Didn't Say It ...

_____, on Hurricane Dorian, before taking another golf weekend:

“All we know is that it’s possibly the biggest. I’m not sure I’ve even heard of a category 5, I knew it existed. And I’ve seen some category 4s. I don’t even think I’ve heard the term other than I know it it’s there and it’s the ultimate and that’s what we have unfortunately.”

Yes, he said he has never heard of Category 5 hurricanes and yet there have been five such storms—Matthew, Irma, Maria, Michael, Dorian—since he took office.
He’s either really dumb or …okay, he’s an idiot.– at least four times over the last two years, including as recently as May.
Pete Buttigieg, on _____’s continuing assertion that Dorian was headed to Alabama…AKA SharpieGate:

“I feel sorry for the president, and that is not the way we should feel about the most powerful figure in this country. Somebody on whose wisdom and judgment our lives literally depend. I don’t know who felt it necessary to pull out a sharpie and change the map. I don’t know if it was one of his aides believed they had to do that to protect his ego. No matter how you cut it, this is unbelievably sad state of affairs. If our presidency is not in good shape, then our country is not in good shape. On one level it’s laughable, on another it is exactly why we’ve got to do something different.”

Let’s not forget that he’s spent the past day or so defending his stance on the hurricane threat to Alabama, which is longer and more fervent than his defense of locking kids in cages.
That’s _____ in a nutshell.
Lindsey Graham, _____’s butt-boy and lap dog, intends on questioning former President Barack Obama about what he knows about the FBI’s investigation of _____:

“I can’t imagine an investigation of the Republican nominee for president—a counter intelligence investigation of his campaign—was not approved at the highest level. I cannot imagine it happening without somebody in the White House knowing about it.”

Take a seat, ma’am. Your blatant ‘Party Over Country’ is showing. You want to investigate any and every Democrat, but your golf buddy, whose putter you want to pay with, gets a pass?
Plus, you just know he wants to gaze into Obama's soulful brown eyes and mutter, 'Call me Michelle.'
Mike Bryan, American tennis player, after being fined $10,000 for making a shooting gesture with his racket, aimed at a linesperson, during a US Open match:

“I apologize for any offense I may have caused. We won the point and the gesture was meant to be playful. But given the recent news and political climate I understand how my gesture could be viewed as insensitive. I promise that I will never do anything like this again.”

Hey Mike, howsabout not apologizing for any offense you may have caused, and simply say you’re sorry for acting like a twat.
Tony Perkins, leader of the Hate Group, the Family Research Council, blaming gun violence on evolution:

“I agree, praying alone is not enough. It’s time to act. And it’s not just about having a conversation about restricting those who should not have guns—criminals—but it’s also a discussion of the absence of a moral core in our culture today. I mean, look. We’ve taught our kids they come about through chance through primordial slime, and then we’re surprised that they treat their fellow Americans like dirt! It’s time we talk about the result of the left’s systematic march through our institutions, driving religious expression from the public square. I think we have to go back to the point where we instill in these children — at least give them the opportunity to know that they’re created in the image of God. Therefore, they have inherent value.”

Yup, teaching evolution is the problem.
Asshat.
Marc Short, chief of staff to Michael Elizabeth Pence, saying Pence’s stay at a _____ International property—rather than in Dublin—was a matter of convenience and safety:

“It’s a facility that could accommodate the team.Keep in mind, the Secret Service has protected that facility for [_____], too, so they sort of know the realities; they know the logistics around that facility.”

Sure, Short, like the Secret Service isn’t equipped to learn “new” logistics?
But please to explain, then, why Pence’s political group, the Great America Committee, has dropped about $224,000 at _____ properties, chiefly the _____ International Hotel in Washington and its on-site steakhouse.
And :::crickets:::
Eric McCormackWill & Grace star, trying to walk back his suggestion of blacklisting Hollywood actors, director, writers, producers who support _____:
“I want to be clear about my social media post from last week, which has been misinterpreted in a very upsetting way. I absolutely do not support blacklists or discrimination of any kind, as anyone who knows me would attest. I’d simply like to understand where Trump’s major donations are coming from, which is a matter of public record. I am holding myself responsible for making educated and informed decisions that I can morally and ethically stand by and to do that, transparency is essential.”
Not what you said, Eric. You said:
“Kindly report on everyone attending this event, so the rest of us can be clear about who we don’t wanna work with. ”
Sounds like blacklisting to me; it reeks of discrimination.
Whoopi GoldbergThe View, on Eric McCormack and Debra Messing’s demand to know who supports _____ so they can choose to work with them or not:

“Last time people did this people ended up killing themselves. This is not a good idea. You’re idea of who you don’t want to work with is your personal business. Do not encourage people to print out lists because the next list that comes out, your name will be on and then people will be coming after you. We had something called the blacklist and a lot of really good people were accused of stuff. Nobody cared whether it was true or not. They were accused and they lost their right to work. You do not have the right. In this country people can vote for who they want to, that is one of the great rights of this country. You don’t have to like it but we don’t go after people because we don’t like who they voted for. We don’t go after them that way. We can talk about issues and stuff but we don’t print out lists. I’m sure you guys misspoke when you said that because it sounded like a good idea. Think about it, read about it, remember what the blacklist actually meant to people and don’t encourage anyone, anyone to do it.”

Word.

  1. "Call me Michelle"! Thanks a lot Bob! That mental picture is going to stick with me all day! At least it will act as an appetite suppressant, so thanks for helping with my diet.

  2. Perhaps it's not evolution to blame but parenting? Seeing your parent dish out lie after lie and endorse racism might encourage those with little real parental support to think that it's okay to go kill those you don't approve of....not exactly what Jesus preached is it evangelicals?

  3. Every time Pete speaks I realize how abysmal the republican standards are. Cheeto is incoherent, petulant and plain incapable of not lying.
Pence and Lindsey are Cheeto’s lapdogs, one for power, the other because they’ve got Kompromat on his ass.

    XoXo

  6. I heard that he-who-shall-not-be-named actually CONGRATULATED Poland on the 60th anniversary of the Nazi invasion of their country which, of course, was the final straw in triggering WWII. Should have thought congratulations ought to have been directed at the invaders themselves or their descendants and contemporary sympathisers. ("Very fine people")

  7. Whoopi is the only reason I would even watch ten seconds of that show. She is often the voice of reason. It's hypocritical to become the thing you hate.

I'm still not sure he has a real shot, but he impresses me nonetheless.
