Jinkx Monsoon will star as Judy Garland in the revival
of Peter Quilter's End of the Rainbow musical and Friends of
Dorothy AKA The Gays, as well as Friends of Jinkx couldn't be more excited.
Monsoon, clearly the biggest winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race, has
done everything from playing Matron Mama Morton in Chicago, Audrey
in Little Shop of Horrors, Ruth in Pirates! The Penzance
Musical, and Mary Todd Lincoln in Oh, Mary! and says approach
to playing Garland will be different:
"I know people know me for impressions and
imitations—but I'm thrilled for this chance to explore beyond the laughter and
into the heart of why we still think so much about Judy today. Her tale is one
that we can't forget, especially as women in entertainment are still fighting
for autonomy and agency in their own careers. I'm ready to bring new aspects of
her story to the stage, and to share what I find so tragically beautiful about
her life.”
Monsoon Season comes to England from May 15 through June 21,
2026, at the Soho Theatre. |
"she could give a free concert in my kitchen and I still wouldn’t go" -- hahahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteSeriously.
DeleteAs someone who deals with contractors, you should leave them alone when they're working; chitchat costs $$$. The Indians must have been desperate. And Republicans have been trying to fuck the ACA since it was born.
ReplyDeleteHe's our contractor but is also a friend and is not charging us by the minute.
DeleteI try to arrange contractors visit when him indoors is on the ocean blue. That way the poor sods don't get to be told how to do their own jobs, jobs which him indoors has never had to do for a living.
ReplyDeletePlus those super rich idiots around the world should settle for a private celebration with close family and perhaps 10 of their besties, not 1,000+. The money saved could be used to feed the starving around the world.
Heck, it could've saved the starving right there in India.
DeleteSadly, the 1% care more about their lavish lifestyle than starving people.
DeleteOh that last one!
ReplyDeleteTruth!
Delete🤣 The Craig and Carlos show is just as funny as the Bob and Carlos show. Not so funny is the thought of my not going to Starbucks …. ever. Already aware baristas don’t get a fair shake, I always leave a tip. I’ll compromise by going less frequently.
ReplyDeleteI always get coffee from one of our two locally owned shops.
DeleteCarlos and Craig ARE a riot!
Hahaha I bet Carlos can hear the drop of a pin.
ReplyDeleteAnd you know the Repgs want to destroy anything and everything Obama did because they're super jealous. And they're bastards who thrive in misery. The misery of others, that is.
And OF COURSE Jakob could.
XOXO
He acts like he can, but I think it's just an act!
DeleteThe Black man did good things for the people and the right racists can't handle it!
Jakob definitely could!
xoxo
Oh, Tuxedo knew what the deal was ... prescient, too.
ReplyDeleteStarbucks coffee is bitter and acidic - I never touch the stuff.
No gay DRAG artist did (does) Judy like Jim Bailey did. The man was A. Maz. Ing.
I will stick with my Jinkx because she slayed me!
DeleteBailey was the first, though, to be sure!
