Architecture Wednesday: Curaumilla House

This small, though beautifully situated house is on a steep hill above the sea in Curaumilla, Valparaíso, Chile.

Curaumilla is a vacation home divided into two areas, one private, with two bedrooms en suite—the bedrooms are divided on two floors, yet both have sea views—and the other the social space, an open kitchen, guest bathroom, dining area, living room and terraces.

The house is located right on the edge where the forest ends and the gorge begins to fall; it is almost the only place where the entrance to the sea can be seen, and in this way the house kind of celebrates that “border” between forest and sea.

Curaumilla is a broken volume, with two bodies, social and private, oriented in different directions and connected by a glazed corridor. The first of the volumes is where social life takes place, it begins to sink and gradually takes off until it rises from the ground. At the far end, the roof is at ground level, functioning as the access to the house and ending in a deck with views of the sea and coastline.

My father lives in Oregon, very near the coast, and this is a house that would be perfect for out there. Small, yet gorgeous views, welcoming, and yet private.

I really need a winning Lottery ticket …

They Say He's The World's Hottest Bald Man ... I Disagree

The UK’s highly-esteemed literary journal tabloid newspaper, The Sun, has decided who the sexiest bald man in the world is, and, well, missed it. They claim their 100% completely accurate and factual and scientific decision was helped by the good folks at “cosmetic surgery specialists Longevita” who have said the Sexiest Bald Man in the World is … Prince William.

Prince William? Prince William? According to the “researchers” at Longevita, they put their list together by looking at how many times a bald famous man has been described as “sexy,” “hot,” or “attractive” in blogs and pages found in Google searches, and have decreed that Harry’s older brother has been described as “sexy” or “hot” or “attractive” at least 17.6 million times.

I wonder how many times Kate went online …anyway, here is Longevita’s “list” of the sexiest bald men in the world:

Prince William – 17.6 million

Mike Tyson – 8.8 million

Jason Statham – 7.4 million

Pitbull – 5.4 million

Michael Jordan – 5.3 million

Floyd Mayweather – 4.3 million

John Travolta – 3.8 million

Bruce Willis – 3.3 million

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson – 2.6 million

Vin Diesel – 2.3 million

First off, William isn’t technically bald, he’s balding, but lets skip right over that and get to …Mike Tyson? Pitbull? Travolta? Dwayne Johnson? Who in the world would ever describe these men as hot or sexy and bald. I mean, Dwayne Johnson looks like an eraser. Vin Diesel? Bruce Willis?

No, honey, not on my watch. I love a good hot bald man and not one of these, least of all Prince Bill, is what I’d call hot … though Jason Statham does come closest, and even he is actually balding.

So. Let’s make this about me, and who I think are the sexiest bald men in the world, in no particular order. Oh, who am I kidding, The Tooch comes in at #!::

Stanley Tucci

Mark Strong

Morris Chestnut

Sir Patrick Stewart

Taye Diggs

Jason Statham

Boris Kodjoe

Common

Corey Stoll

Samuel L. Jackson

Kelly Slater

Tyson Beckford

Billy Zane

Christopher Meloni

Luke Goss

Bill doesn’t even make the cut on my list!

What do you think? Do you find follicly-challenged men attractive? And, if so, who?

Thank The Goddess ...

... that my new Easter outfit arrived in time for Sunday Services.

I Ain't One To Gossip But ...

Lindsay Lohan’s back y’all, and she’s got new music! RUN!!!

I kid … or do I? Lindsay announced on social media that she’s dropping a new single entitled “Lullaby” and she’s going release it as an NFT, or non-fungible token on fansforever.io. NFTs are digital collectibles that ALLEGEDLY represent something unique.

Basically, an NFT is something digital that you pay for so you can have it, but people who don’t pay for it can still see it. And the idea that Lindsay Lohan thinks people will buy her caterwauling so they can brag about owning it, is the height of hilarity.

Let’s go back to what I said at the start: RUN!!!!

Also on Social Media this week, Social Media Whore Chrissy Teigen has gone all Alec Baldwin on your ass and quit Twitter; again.

Chrissy posts about everything and always gets a little clap back from folks, but now it appears that she’s done with all that. In a series of exit tweets—why she didn’t just leave quietly speaks volumes—Chrissy explained she couldn’t handle the amount of hate she was getting. She said she loved the time she spent on Twitter and that she kind of owes her career[?] to being an unfiltered, outspoken Twitterer, but that her current experience is pretty much non-stop negativity, and she’s over it.

Goodbye! Foot stomp. But don’t fret, you can still find her on Instagram and TikTok and talk shows, where she has once again over shared …

Appearing  on The Late Late Show with James Corden and playing a game of Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts, Chrissy says she and her husband, John Legend, had sex at the Democratic National Convention.

Wow; media whore still media whorin’.

Come on, y’all saw this coming …it has been announced  that Piers Morgan’s BFF, Sharon Osbourne, has been kicked to the curb by CBS and The Talk losing it on her co-host Sheryl Underwood while defending Piers Morgan.

Of course, because the rich get richer, Osbourne was handed a $10 million check on her way out … and she’s now saying it was her choice to leave.

Riiiiight. After defending Morgan’s ALLEGED racist rants about Meghan Markle, it also came to light that she once called former Talk co-hosts Holly Robinson Peete “ghetto” and said Leah Remini was a “wop” and called boss lady Julie Chen “slanty eyed.”

Sharon, of course, denies saying these racist things but perhaps ten million can buy her some soul searching.

For a minute there, we were all afraid that true love had actually died because it looked like JLo and A-Rod were done.

But breathe … they’re back to sharing their love all over social media, and using it to hawk products like Goli vitamin gummies on Instagram.

Love conquers all …especially when you can make some coins off of it.

First Lindsay, and now Gwyneth Paltrow is back, and she has yet another beauty routine which she is calling a “less is more” regimen.

Gwyneth starts each day with a nut milk and almond butter smoothie, and then rubs a coarse brush on her body to exfoliate and boost circulation, using GOOP’s wood-handled brush. She follows that up with Goopglow Microderm Instant Glow Exfoliator to slough off more dead skin cells. Then comes a few drops of Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum followed by Jillian Dempsey Hydrating Eye Masks. She also loves Jillian Dempsey’s Gold Sculpting Bar which is made from 24-karat gold and vibrates—it’s a face dildo. After reinvigorating her skin, Paltrow uses Weleda Skin Food, Goopglow Glow Lotion, Unsun Mineral Tinted Sunscreen, and Goopgenes Clean Nourishing Lip Balm, Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick,  Olio E Osso Lip & Cheek Tinted Balm, Kosas The Big Clean Mascara and Ilia Balmy Gloss Tinted Lip Oil.

And the best part? Paltrow’s “less is more” routine will set you back over $900 so,  while it’s marketed as simple, it’s not for you paupers.

I Didn't Say It ...

Matt Gaetz, [Q-FL], suddenly announcing he has a new career lined up on the very same day it was announced he was being investigated for child sex trafficking:

“Yes. I’ve had many conversations with many people about life after Congress. These conversations have been very general in nature and have never included me soliciting or receiving an offer of employment. There is not a single conservative television station I haven’t had a passing conversation with about life after Congress. I have neither received nor solicited offers from any of them. But yes, I’ve talked to either executives, producers or hosts at Newsmax, OAN, Fox, Fox Business, Real America’s Voice and probably others I’m forgetting in this moment as I focus intently on refuting false accusations against me.”

Nice try, Matt, but then a Fox News spokesman said:

“No one with any level of authority has had conversations with Matt Gaetz for any of our platforms and we have no interest in hiring him.”

Ouch. But I hear they’re hiring at the prison laundry. Though sex traffickers might not be allowed in Gen Pop.

Chris Columbus, film director, not the murderer of Native Peoples, has confirmed the existence of an R-rated version of Robin Williams’ Mrs. Doubtfire:

"The reality is that there was a deal between Robin and myself, which was, he’ll do one or two, three scripted takes. And then he would say, ‘Then let me play.’ And we would basically go on anywhere between 15 to 22 takes, I think 22 being the most I remember. He would sometimes go into territory that wouldn’t be appropriate for a PG … "

I sure hope they release it because I need some Williams riffing without barriers!

Plus an NC-17 Doubtfire would be a riot!

photo

Lindsey Graham, today on Fox News Sunday:

“I would challenge [Chuck Schumer] to bring the assault weapons ban to the floor of the United States Senate. It won’t get 50 votes, much less 60. I own an AR-15. If there’s a natural disaster in South Carolina where the cops can’t protect my neighborhood, my house will be the last ones that the gangs will come to because I can defend myself.”

Bitch, please, you’d be too busy cowering in a corner, clutching your pearls, and wishing you had a man in the house to fire a gun. Hell, you’d probably shoot yourself first.

photo

Mick Mulvaney, former chief of staff for the twice-impeached, one-term loser, calling his former boss a bit of a liar about the Capitol riots:

“I was surprised to hear the President say that. Clearly there were people who were behaving themselves, and then there were people who absolutely were not. But to come out and say that everyone was fine and there was no risk, that’s just manifestly false—people died, other people were severely injured. It’s not right to say there was no risk, I don’t know how you can say that when people were killed.”

Nice Mick, but, um, yeah, then why did you also add that you’d vote for him in 2024? Cuz you like working with blatant liars?

photo

Michele Bachman, speaking on a “prayer call” about the current president:

“I want everyone to realize what we’re living through and what we’re witnessing is a coup. This is called a coup, and a coup is a political term, and what it means is an unlawful, unauthorized takeover of a legitimate government. America had a legitimate government, but this is an unauthorized, illegal takeover through voter fraud in last November’s election, and now H.R. 1 [will] forever cement that illegal takeover into place. Make no mistake about it—what we’re watching is a coup. You see this in third-world countries. It’s happening in the greatest country in the world, the United States, but it is a coup.”

Oh Michele, instead of just speaking out of your ass, prove voter fraud; prove it. Go ahead, we’ll wait while an actual decent human being and legitimately elected president rights this ship.

And then, ma’am, kindly fuck all the way off.

Billy Porter, actor, singer, fashion icon, on his life, good and bad, after arriving at the Oscars in that custom Christian Siriano tuxedo gown:

“I thought back to when my friend Idina Menzel was at the Oscars [in 2014] to sing ‘Let It Go,’ from Frozen, and John Travolta mispronounced her name onstage I literally said out loud, ‘She’s going to be a household name in less than 24 hours.’ And she was. As funny as it may sound, I’m a businessman, and wearing that [Oscars] dress was a business decision, in a sense. People were like, ‘Oh, he’s just trying to get attention.’ Well, yeah, I’m in show business! It’s part of my job. Otherwise, I don’t eat. I used to get frustrated that women could wear whatever they wanted and men had to show up in the same penguin suit. The reason why women wearing pants is considered OK by society’s standards is because it comes from the patriarchy. The patriarchy is male, so suits are strong, and anything feminine is weak. I was sick of that discussion, and I knew my platform allowed me to challenge it. [The hate from the right] was based on this idea that I’m coming to get their children because of the way I dress. What is that? I’m over here minding my own business. So why is it triggering you? At that moment, I was grateful that I am a man of a certain age, because when you become a certain age, zero f—s are given. I don’t now, nor will I ever, adjudicate my life or my humanity in [other people's] sound bites or responses on social media. Simultaneously, it still hurts to have people come after me for nothing. When Lady Gaga dresses up and performs a song on TV as if she’s a man [Jo Calderone at the 2011 MTV VMAs], no one bats an eye. They receive her as an artist who’s playing with different silhouettes and ideas. Same with David Bowie. When white and straight people do it, they’re considered artists. When I do it, I’m a perversion. The answer to that from me is no.”

After the Oscars Porter was invited to appear on Sesame Street in his Siriano gown, and then Jason Rapert, a Republican Arkansas state senator, slammed PBS for using taxpayer dollars to promote, ahem, “a radical LGBTQ+ agenda,” adding that he could pass a bill to “cut off all funding” to the network.

Luckily, like Porter, Sesame Street has been around a while and they also have zero fucks to give.

Bobservations

The other day Carlos said to me:

“I have good news.”

“What is it?”

“I will be out of the house for a while tomorrow.”

I shouted, “Thank you Jesus” and threw myself to the ground in ecstasy, as Carlos continued:

“I have a translation in Columbia at …”

“I don’t need details, let me savor the thought.”

It all faded away as I  smiled at the idea of being home alone. I am a person who doesn’t mind being alone, in fact, I like it sometimes, but with Carlos working only from home during the pandemic, and me working from home two or three days a week, he’s always around. So I reveled in my joy.

The next day came and off he went. I puttered around the house, read a book, listened to music, did some laundry, sat on the ack deck with Tuxedo, and a few hours later Carlos called and told me he had a surprise; I said:

“You’re staying out?”

“No. I have a surprise for you.”

“Yeah, you’re staying out?”

“No. I’ll give it to you when I get home.”

I thought, Mitchell brings San Geraldo flowers every so often, so maybe it’s flowers? Nope. Even better … a Chori-Pollo dinner from one of our local Mexican restaurants. He knows me so well.

My husband. I think I’ll keep him.

I mean, come on. Tuxedo can’t even vote or fire a gun and he understands this nonsense. Sheesh!

Over there on Fox News Lies, Maria Bartiromo complained to Eric The Dumb One about President Biden's 5th trip home to Delaware, and The Dumb One said, with a straight, hideous face:

"I don't even know where to begin. It's heartbreaking to us. I saw how much time & effort my father put into the job."

Yes, he did.

Well, I always knew I had some affinity for travelling to Oz but I never really saw it until now.

Two weeks after eight people were gunned down in Atlanta, the Georgia Senate approved legislation to loosen the state’s gun laws. State Senator, and certified Qidiot, Bo Hatchett said:

“This is a Second Amendment protection bill that further recognizes Georgia’s commitment to protect its citizens and their Second Amendment rights.”

But NOT their right to vote.

On the upside in Georgia, after a week of saying almost nothing about the state’s new restrictive voting policies, two of the state’s biggest corporations, Coca-Cola and Delta, have both announced that they oppose the new voter suppression legislation. Okay, so maybe now you can put your money, your product and your influence out there, like, well, like this:

And Delta, since one of your famous taglines is:

“We love to fly and it shows.”

… howsabout a new one where you get people to the polls, or that lone voter drop-box? I think:

“We love to drive people to vote, and it shows.”

… sounds nice.

Volkswagen’s American division slipped up a bit this week with an announcement that suggested the company’s name will change in a nod toward the automaker’s investment in electric vehicles.

The company will be called Voltswagen,

The slip-up appeared briefly on Volkswagen’s media site before it was removed, but VW was not hacked, and the announcement is no joke; it’s not a marketing ploy and the plan is for the change to be made permanent.

Just not right now.

Well, this was kind of a cool message I got on Twitter this week:

Hi, Bob!

I've updated my blogroll and made sure to include you. Also, your "Gaggle of Qidiots" story has been added to today's "News & Pop Culture Round-Up" on Stonewall Gazette. Cheers

Shane Smith, Editor

And here’s my link. Very nice, I must say!

This week’s morsel is one Janis Danner, a German born model who simmers and smolders.

Those eyes! That smile! That hair! That body!

I was thinking of asking him to Smallville, where, and I’m quoting Bette Midler here, I would dress up like Poland and he could invade me?
