You had me at 1929 Spanish masterpiece! A house with some personality!!!! LOVE THIS! I always love the mix of textures and architectural elements with Spanish design. I love the mix of white, tiles, and woods. And the kitchen is insanely gorgeous, yet simple and easy of access.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes...I even loved the monkey wallpaper!!!! Every home needs a touch of whimsical wallpaper somewhere. And with all the other textures in the bathroom, it works.
And let's be honest...Id be naked in that pool all the time.

It's a lovely home, though I'm a bigger fan of the outdoors than inside. While the beams are incredible, I always feel like the dark ceiling makes the rooms look short. Not an issue for me at 5'1", so I don't know why it bothers me so much. :)

ReplyDelete😢 But, LA? I have a definite bias against the whole area. Beautiful views with extra smog? No thanks. But, that exact house sitting on the low cliffs over the Pacific at Pebble Beach, Monterey, Carmel with every window at the rear of the home open to watch and hear waves crashing...Nirvana! And, when I die, just throw me off the back wall into the Pacific Ocean 'cause that's my plan no matter where I die...just more convenient from my coast home!! 🤣

Los Feliz, Whitley Heights and Outpost in the Hollywood Hills are loaded with these homes, from bungalows to mansions. I would decorate the house in Spanish, Italian and Moorish style furnishings. The monkey wallpaper is just like the whimsical decor of the bathrooms found in the famed luxury liners of the French Line.

How curious that a Spanish-style house in Los Feliz would be called "Chislehurst Place." (It is a great house, though. Very LA.)
ReplyDeleteLove it. I could live there. The light. The outside space. And just a few miles West we have the Bird Streets. This is where RuPaul used to live. Anything North of Sunset Boulevard would be nice. If I remember correctly, all the necessitates would be close by because driving anywhere in LA is a nightmare. And my favorite bookstore Book Soup is close by.
