Natalie Moore Files Suit For Her Dead, Bullied Son

Jamarcus Bell
According to his mother, Natalie Moore, Jamarcus Bell suffered racially-based bullying and harassment for "perceived homosexuality and emotional disability" while attending Hamilton Southeastern junior high and high schools. She alleges that students threw pieces of metal at him during a welding class, stole his shoes, his clothing, had his book bag dumped and was physically assaulted in hallways and classrooms.
Then Jamarcus Moore killed himself.
Now, Natalie Moore has filed a lawsuit in federal court against Hamilton Southeastern Schools, accusing the district and its employees of not doing enough to stop bullying incidents.
Jamarcus Bell tired, unsuccessfully, to end his life by hanging himself at school in a janitor's closet at the junior high; he succeeded in taking his own life on October 20, 2010, at his mother's home during fall break.
I fear many more lawsuits against schools for not adequately protecting students from bullying unless radical action is taken. I'm over that whole 'we have a zero tolerance policy' business. I want a zero tolerance policy from the students who are bullied, the students who witness the bullying, the teachers,. the administrators, the bus drivers, the brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers of all those kids who are literally being bullied to death.
Zero tolerance.
