ReplyDeleteYou forgot just one person...my grandfather was born on Jan 27th. He was a blustery old local cop whose bark was worse than his bite. He was the town's foremost sidewalk lawyer and justice of the peace, and notary public. I had to be 18 at 6 years old to stand up as a witness to civil unions with my grandmother, the parakeet.
ReplyDeleteThis is the man who loved me more than anybody in the world and when he found out I was gay, figured that cutting off cakes, pies, ice cream and candy in the house would straighten me out. He was sure it was his fault I was a goddamned pansy because he filled me with "swill".
