Bruce Springsteen, opening his Land of Hope and Dreams tour
in Minneapolis last week:
“Good evening Minnesota. Welcome Minneapolis, St. Paul,
welcome to the ‘Land of Hope and Dreams’ American Tour. I want to begin the
night with a prayer for our men and women in service overseas. We pray for
their safe return. The mighty E Street Band is here tonight to call upon a
righteous power of art, of music, of rock and roll, in dangerous times. We are
here in celebration and defense of our American ideas — democracy, our
constitution and our sacred American promise. The America I love, the America
that I’ve written about for 50 years that has been a beacon of hope and liberty
around the world is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, racist,
reckless and treasonous administration. Tonight we ask all of you to join with
us in choosing hope over fear, democracy over authoritarianism, the rule of law
over lawlessness, ethics over unbridled corruption, resistance over
complacency, unity over division, and peace over war.”
It’s part concert, part revival, and part protest; it’s The
Resistance set to music.

ReplyDeleteDonald Duck's war and his and his minions incompetence is causing havoc around the world. Most people agree that Iran's rulers are awful people, on a par with Putrid. But that doesn't mean that you start a war without any planning, no strategy, no fall back positions, just enough missiles and bombs to kill thousands of innocent Iranians.
ReplyDeleteThe whole edifice is crumbling.
ReplyDelete"The Resistance set to music" -- just like the good old days!
ReplyDeleteLike I said yesterday nothing in this White House makes any sense and the jokes just keep coming and writing themselves. And Barack Obama is exactly right. Now if we can just get the rest of them out. I think Putin is going to be the hardest one to get out. Unless he dies or is assassinated he ain't going nowhere.
ReplyDeleteLove Bruce!!
ReplyDeleteLove Barack!,
And I had never watched Kimmel before Cankles decided to censor him. Now I watch him religiously.
XOXO
I love them all…so articulate, so spot on.
ReplyDeleteThe Springsteen concert opening has gone viral. It's terrific. Kimmel isn't a very ... well, whatever. If he's piling on Cankles, I guess I'll give him a pass.

Melanie’s motivation? Yup, got it in one, Bob.
ReplyDeleteAmen, Brother! The hooker in the WH is a grifter and absolutely scheming to get a bigger share of Cankles' grift! BTW, we now have 2 bottles of Veuve Clicquot Brut chilling in the wine fridge in anticipation of "The Event We're All Waiting For." I can only live in hope, sweetpea! xoxo
