Question: When did Bert become MAGAt? I think that was Ernie's "10Q - You're welcome" game. The meme is so unfair to a beloved Sesame Street resident. Interesting that some Muslim women in Iran are protesting and burning their hijab as symbols of oppression while in other places they are protesting the banning of the hijab. Catholic/Episcopal nuns and religious sisters (many of whom no longer wear the coif, wimple and veil because they choose to be more approachable) wore their head covering by choice; and until fairly recently women, especially widows, in Southern Italy and Sicily traditionally wore black dresses and veils. Both are remnants of male-dominated cultures which required women to wear head coverings and oppressed/controlled women. I don't think the Pope-mobile has anything to do with trust in God but more to do with DISTRUST of sociopaths among the human population.
No. (I'm not saying I believe in god. I certainly don't believe in the god you don't believe in....So many people believe in an infantile concept of god, which [who] meddles in human affairs like a puppet master…which of course your meme recognizes and ridicules. However, if one believes in science, in the vastness of the universe, in the mystery that can cause a combination of chemicals to result in what we call living protoplasm and millions of life forms, in the secrets of the oceans, in the stars and planets and galaxies and beyond, in how small and insignificant is our planet and our individual selves....and if one can experience awe and wonder in all of that, and the fact that we can actually reflect upon it, that, I would posit, is an experience of something greater than ourselves, something essentially incomprehensible. Call it what you will. Some great thinkers have called it God. And that reality, no matter how awesome, will not protect you or me or the Pope himself from a bullet to your, my, or his brain.)
I had a cat called Boy. He got kicked by a cow, and the Vet said he should be put down because his leg had too many breaks. I asked the Vet if he could just removed the leg. He did it, and he lived 14 more years. You should have seen him when he ran on top of our fence as fast as any cat. I didn't get him fixed because he had such fear of the Vet. He brought many kitten's into this world.
I'll never understand the people (I use the term "people" loosely) who revere trump, yet are unhappy about all the taxes they have to pay. Why don't they hate the people who get away with not paying taxes?
It's amazing that the poorest and most put-upon of Americans linked arms with a con man who would have nothing whatsoever to do with them if they didn't cast a vote his way! xoxo
I was so happy to see your comment on my last post, sweetpea! Truly glad you're back and in fine Tuesday form! Perfect memes, especially the Witt Sisters!!! xoxo

Darrin's hitting the nail right on the head. Gen Z is going to rip the Republican party a new asshole, probably where Ronnie DeSantis' mouth is.
ReplyDeleteWe should all stand together and vote these asshats from office.

If you believe in God wouldn't He or She protect the Pope without bullet-proof glass???

DeleteIt's been a long two weeks.
These are amazing...and frightening in many ways. Love the last one.
ReplyDeleteWoke is a good thing, because those who aren't live in the darkness and the fear perpetrated by the right.
DeleteFirst one is so true
ReplyDeleteSadly true.
