The flier reads:
“I have nothing but compassion, respect and sensitivity towards those trapped in homosexual behavior. I have family members and friends who have been ensnared in this behavior, and I know something of the incredible pain and sorrow it has brought to them and their families. With God’s grace, I carefully balance this love and respect for these individuals with warnings about the promotion and demand for legal and political approval for homosexual behavior that will stifle religious freedom and trap millions of more people in its deadly grip. Therefore, I would ask you to vote against Annise Parker for Mayor.”
Dave Wilson knows nothing of compassion and respect. He is plainly and simply, a homophobic fucktard who seeks to use his warped sense of religion and reality to deny the LGBT community the rights afforded every other American citizen. In 2001, the man, so filled with hate, successfully pushed a city charter amendment barring benefits for the same-sex partners of Houston city employees. He has spent years pestering incumbent politicians of both parties but is now focused on Parker because he says "homosexual behavior leads to extinction." The flier he created features a picture of Anise Parker standing beside her longtime partner at a swearing-in ceremony after Parker had been elected Houston's Controller six years ago.
"I don't see a good family, a Christian family, one man, one woman," Wilson said. "It's a picture of her and her mate being sworn in in public and that's the image I have a problem with."
Just understand people, Dave Wilson is going after the gay community now, but what about the non-Christian families? Are they next oh his to-do list? And what about single-parents families? Is he out to get them, too?
It's all hate, no matter how you spin it, Dave.
Bob, you are exactly right, it never stops. Persecution is a wild whirlwind that destroys everything in its' path. It never stays contained to one group or place. History, if nothing else, reveals that about persecution.
ReplyDeletewhy are these folks spitting out mess?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like we are the new agenda for hate. The Right Wing-nuts are ramping up their campaign against us, and really against everyone's right to believe anything else other than what they do.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how fickle people can be when times get hard. I think we just have to fight them in the courts, rather than play into their game and return their hate.
His comments sound perfectly reasonable when viewed through the truth of homosexuality being a choice.
ReplyDeleteThe analogy to "hate" would only apply if one belives the lie that it is not a behavior choice.
People make choices, not all off them are good and not all of them qualify you for public office... Seems reasonable to me that choosing to be a homosexual, while completely within your rights as an individual, would be one of those choices that should limit your career opportunities.
