Bobservations

With Carlos’ vision issues, we’ve had to change the way things are done at Casa Bob y Carlos, and one of the things we changed was the setting of the thermostat. We keep it set for heat at 68-degrees, and for the AC at 80-degrees and it works just fine. But Carlos had difficulty seeing the settings and so I set it for him, explaining that there are three buttons along the bottom of the thermostats and the far right one turns everything on.

“Push once for heat. I have it set at 68 and so the heat will come on if it’s colder than that.”

Carlos thought he needed to raise the heat so a couple of times this past winter I came home to find the heat on at 78 degrees. The same for the AC.

“Push the button twice for the AC. I have it set at 80 and it’ll come on when it gets too hot in the house.”

I came home the other day and it was 67 degrees in the house which, yes, should mean he’d want the heater on but …

Anyway, he found a smart thermostat that is voice activated and wondered if we should get one, and I said:

“If it helps you set the heating and cooling let’s get it, but just remember if we leave the heat set at 68 and AC set at 80, we never have to adjust, we just need to push the right button once or twice.”

“I think the voice activated one is better for me.”

“Why? Does it speak Spanish?”

It doesn’t, but he did, and very colorfully I might add.

After the recent cheering by the right at the thought of Roe v Wade being overturned coupled with this latest vote, it isn’t any clearer that the GOP only cares about a fetus, and not a child.

And they don’t care about women, or mothers, at all.

Eric Clapton who fought against COVID mask mandates for his tour last year has COVID must cancel the remaining dates on this leg of his tour.

If only there was something he could have done …

Sorry, not sorry, Covidiot.

We’ve been watching The First Lady on Showtime, which tells the stories of Michelle Obama, played by Viola Davis, Betty Ford played by Michelle Pfeiffer, and Eleanor Roosevelt played by Gillian Anderson.

I adore Viola, but her performance seems more caricature because she changed the way she moves her mouth, pursing her lips in way that seems unnatural to her, though reminiscent of Obama. Anderson is good as Eleanor, though she comes across as quite frail and I never got that impression by reading about Eleanor Roosevelt.

But Michelle Pfeiffer is brilliant as Betty Ford. Subtle, quiet; she reveals the character sometimes without saying a word. I’ve always liked Pfeiffer and thought her a good actor, but she’s amazing in this. The last episode dealt with Betty Ford mastectomy and Michelle Pfeiffer slayed that role.

I’d watched her alone as Betty Ford.

In the wake of these two latest mass shootings in the United Sates of Guns, ALLEGED mad of ‘g’od Franklin Graham posted to Facebook that only a relationship with Jesus Christ can stop gun violence.

Really, Frank? Really, Cuz, there have been 198 shootings in this country so far this year so please tell me when Jesus is gonna stop the madness.

Or maybe he’s too busy picking winning basketball teams and baseball games.

Fuck all the way off, charlatan.

Jake Daniels, Blackpool soccer forward, has become the first player in the UK to come out as gay since Justin Fashanu in 1990. At just seventeen, Jake made his senior debut for the Blackpool club this month, but wants to be a role model for others in the game by coming out:

“Now is the time to do it. I feel like I am ready to tell people my story. I want people to know the real me.”

Welcome out, Jake, and please accept as our gift from HOMO HQ a copy of the Gay Agenda and the Official Coming Out Toaster Oven™.

Welcome out.

Ps He’s a hot little nugget.

Talk about a snowflake … according to ex-Secretary of Defense Mark Esper’s memoir, A Sacred Oath, Thing 45 once demanded that former General Stan McChrystal and former Admiral William McRaven be recalled into active duty just so that they could be court-martialed for criticizing Thing 45.

Seriously, what a little bitch.

Amid the political backlash with the GOP over Florida’s ‘Don’t Say Gay’ law, Disney will be donating ALL the profits from its pride merchandise to charities that help the LGBTQ+ community like GLSEN, PFLAG, The Trevor Project, Zebra Coalition, Los Angeles LGBT Center, LGBT Center Orange County, San Francisco LGBT Center, and the Ali Forney Center.

Mickey has zero fucks to give.

Meghan McCain wrote a book after leaving The View that she called Bad Republican: A Memoir in which she “expresses how it is to feel like you no longer fit in with your political party.” The book first came out as an audio book and when a paperback version was released it sold … 244 copies. Ouch.

PS I imagine that hair pin cost her more than the book made.

This is Carlos Lazo, an Italian fitness model, and the question is quite simple: Would You Hit It?

  1. I see a crowd of Repugnants in the House want to erase Der Trumpenfuhrer's second impeachment. Will they wave Harry Potter's magic wand so we all forget it ever happened? I expect they're on what Junior's on.

  2. Holy shit Carlos Lazo. It's A up head down.
Now that that's out of the way, Yay for Jake Daniels! He seems totally chill (and got juicy sponsorships, so yeah). Fuck Frankie. And Fuck Meghan. She said it was a 'collectible'. Collectible my ass (well, it is). She's a spoiled twat and has the talent of a constipated marmot (sorry, marmots!).
As for Disney, it's going to have to do more. I don't know what, but MORE. Especially after showering the Repugs with money...
    P.S. Carlos is basically... me.
    XOXO

I can't believe Jake Daniels is 17! Could on him!
Nothing about Meghan McCain is collectible.
I think Disney's making a start, but, yeah, they can and should do more.
      Carlos is high-larious.

  4. I just adore Michelle Pieffer....Ive not seen her in one thing I didn't like.

Glad to read Disney is donating ALL proceeds to gay causes and not just a $1 for each sale.

    Carlos.😂😂😂😂😂

I love how the Repuklicans talk out both sides of their mouth on issues. Just another day.

And Carlos Lazo. Hit it? is pound it.

  5. I WOULD love to hear some of responses you get from Carlos ... or even see some of the looks. As for Carlos Lazo, yes I would, and he looks like he could take it, too.

  7. Viola cast as Michelle seemed a departure from her usual roles IMO and, from the reviews at how disappointingly she portrayed Michelle, it's making me not want to see First Lady.

    1. Viola is good. she always good, but the thing with the way she holds her mouth seems just like too much of an act.
See it for Michelle Pfeiffer as Betty Ford because she's amazing.

  10. The Tales of Carlos made me chuckle. At least he is allowed to touch the thermostat. I am outnumbered in my house and just get to pay the bill. Super cold in the summer and super hot in the winter. Nice job by Disney, congrats to Jake Daniels, and suck it Franklin Graham, you are a douche bag.

  11. Lazlo, Lazlo... you may be too young to know what I'm talking about. Meg's book had a laugh track all of its own on Twitter. You're right about Jake. And my, you guys keep it too cool and to warm for me.

  14. Someone micromanages the thermostat, better that than me

  15. The heat is a constant source of back-and-forth in our house. I don't need it at all in the summer; Dave insists we use it briefly in the mornings (when I'm running around in shorts!).

I hadn't heard about the First Ladies series. We'll watch that, if we can get it here!

I haven't thought of Ken Olin in ages. He was so sexy on "Thirtysomething."
