I loathe John Boehner for a variety of reasons, some of the
superfluous — his orange skin and his penchant for crying on cue — and others
rooted in his lack of a spine — letting the Tea party run roughshod over the government
shutdown while he sat back and did nothing.
But, on top of all that, John Boehner is a liar; and he lies
to children; he lies to children’s faces about issues that could rip their families
apart and then he goes back to eating his breakfast.
It was while having breakfast the other day that Speaker of
the House John Boehner was confronted by two children of immigrants; they
wanted to say hello; they wanted to ask him, to urge, to kind of beg him, to
push immigration reform through the House of Representatives.
And did he say “Shoo!” Did he
say, “Kids, I’m tryin’ to eat my McMuffin.”
No, he said:
“I’m trying to find some way to get this thing done. It’s, as you know, not easy – not going to be an easy path forward. But, I’ve made it clear since the day after the election that it’s time to get this done.”
And that’s a complete lie.
Boehner has never tried to get an immigration bill passed; just like he’s never
passed a jobs bill; just like he’s never done anything about the environment.
He’s been too busy smacking his lips against the sphincter of the tea Party and
voting to overturn Obamacare something like 43 times; all of which have failed,
as did the government shutdown that he let happen on his watch.
See, the Senate sent an immigration bill to the House months ago
that had bipartisan support, and yet here we sit today with no immigration
reform, and no talk from Boehner and his Hounddogs from hell about immigration
reform.
And the fact is that if Speaker of the House John Boehner actually
cared about immigration, and actually allowed a vote on that bipartisan bill to
be held, it would most likely pass.
So, he tans and lies and cries and does nothing, and then
tells children, whose own father could be deported, that he’s working on it.
What he’s working is my last nerve, especially when those children at that diner
asked him, point blank, ”How would you feel if you had to tell your kids at the
age of 10 that you were never coming home?”
Boehner replied, ”That
wouldn’t be good.”
Later that day, John Boehner reiterated to reporters that
the House would not be taking up the Senate’s
immigration reform bill.
Liar. To children. He’d send their parents away all the while
smiling that same demonic smile.

What I don't understand, and may be someone could enlighten me, is why the GOP is allowed to waste public money trying to repeal a bill they don't like so many times? It doesn't make economic sense at a time they are demanding huge cuts in government expenditure. Or is it me that is mad?
