Boy, it’s hard out there for a millionaire Republican
Congressman, no?
It must be a chore, struggling to make ends meet for Phil
Gingrey — that millionaire Republican Congressman … from Georgia — because he’s
complaining about it.
During a meeting with fellow Republicans, like Weeper of the
House John Boehner, to discuss finding a
way to exempt members of Congress and their staffs from having to enroll in
Obamacare, Gingrey whined about his salary, saying, that while lobbyists can
“make 500,000 a year … I’m stuck here making $172,000 a year.”
Gingrey works just 126 days — or about four months a year — to make
that $172,000; that’s roughly $1365.00 a
day, or $170.00 per hour for an eight-hour day. Like I said, it’s hard out there for a —
What? Gingrey has other income in addition to his job that
pays him nearly two-hundred bucks an hour? What’s that? Phil Gingrey is a
millionaire, whose net worth is listed between $3 million and $7.6 million?
See, therein lies the problem with the GOP, that Out Of
Touchiness thing they have going on, because members of the Grand Out-of-Touch
Party think that $170.00 an hour isn’t enough money to earn while representing their constituents
who make far, far less than that.
I wonder how Gingrey would feel if he had to work a real
eight hour day and take home less than a thousand dollars? We’ll never know because that’ll never happen. But it won’t stop
him from complaining about it.
And, as a note to Phil Gingrey: if it isn’t enough money for
you — and let’s remember that as a member of Congress Gingrey voted to give
himself, and his ilk, some 239 days off a year — then maybe you should resign. Let
someone have the job who actually needs the money, won’t complain about the
money and might, just might, give the people of Georgia their money’s worth.
Ass.Hat.
Once again words fail me. Good thing they don't fail Bob. :-)

ReplyDeleteIf we go by hourly wages, I take home about 1/10th of what this jerk does. Perfect choice for this week.
ReplyDeletePoliticians in the US and UK are overpaid and out of touch with reality. As for empathy and sympathy with their constituents? Dream on.
ReplyDeleteuh, yeah. if he can't make it on $170K, then I have a bridge to sell him. I make 1/5th what he does and I make do.
ReplyDeletetotally asshat!
I lost to this man in the last election cycle. Republican voters here wanted to keep this tea party faker, worst-middle-class voting record, lobby-loving, out-of-touch cajillionaire, and doctor who likes insurance companies and pharma companies over people. Gerrymandering works for them.
ReplyDeleteBob,
ReplyDeleteGingrey is repellent. Isn't he a doctor or something? Many of these millionaire Republicans get their millions via the Good Old Boy Network. Just another word for sophisticated stealing. Gingrey and his ilk are the real parasites on America, not the false Welfare Queen analogy they are so fond of portraying poor people. Unfortunately, asshats like Gingrey aren't going anywhere anytime soon because they have a constituency that believes their lies. Sad and disheartening but we do outnumber them. We just have to get smarter and play tougher.
