  3. Helen, above, is spot on. That blasted referendum, now getting on for three years ago, and which was only held in a hopelessly vain attempt to unite the Conservative party, not only failed spectacularly in that respect but has caused the deepest fissure in the British population than, it seems, anyone can remember, certainly myself who got my first vote way back in 1966 - and it's getting still worse day by day, gifting a Heaven-sent opportunity for an 'us' and 'them' mentality to run wild. Never known anything like it - and there's still no sign of an end to the circus!
I know that comparisons with ________as a 'person' (I use the word advisedly) are not entirely accurate but from this east-Atlantic perspective the effects of both _______and Brexit are remarkably similar, especially when one gets the impression that many supporters of the latter would not be happy until a wall was built around these islands. As someone once said - "SAD!"

  5. Divide and conquer. Cheeto needs distractions because he knows there’s enough shit to impeach him in the investigations that are taking place. So he sows chaos. Simple.
