Back in the day, to have Andy Warhol paint your portrait was a high honor. He painted celebrities like Marilyn Monroe, Liza Minnelli, Diana Ross and a Campbell’s Tomato Soup can. But since Warhol passed away how does one get a Warhol portrait of your girlfriend, of whom you are trying to convince the world is the most amazing woman ever?
Well, if you’re Kanye West, with an ego the size of your Baby Mama’s ass, you get Monica Warhol, a distant relative of Andy — his grandfather and her grandfather were brothers — to paint your girl.
Monica Warhol, who never met her famous cousin, though she is an artist in her own right, was paid $30,000 to create a screen print reminiscent of Andy Warhol’s style of Kim Kardashian to celebrate the fact she’s famous for nothing.
Monica Warhol: “She’s an icon. She’s famous for nothing. Andy would have loved her. Kim is beautiful. She’s so manufactured. She looks like a human Barbie.”
Vacuous and plastic.
And now, if you look at it just right, and squint some, and perhaps cover up part of the signature, you can see that Kanye West has an actual “Warhol” of Kim Kardastrophe.
UDPATE: Despite previous reports, Kim Kardashian is now saying that no portrait has ever been commissioned by Kanye West.
Funny how she says that now, when people are giggling about it.

ugh, who would want to waste paint/canvas on this ugly ho?
ReplyDeleteSad, sad. "The most beautiful woman?"'Hardly.
ReplyDeleteThe most beautiful woman? Someone needs to get LASIK surgery ASAP.
ReplyDeleteWhat my old art professor would have called, "Art without a capital a."
ReplyDeleteThe only reason Andy would have loved her is because he would have been drunk and high. Wait till the buzz wears off.
ReplyDeleteThat is the TACKIEST looking piece off "art" I've ever seen.
