I Ain't One To Gossip But ....

So, there was the story this week of Blister Palin’s White Trash Son calling his auntie Willard a ‘faggot’ and it got me to wondering: where do people learn how to act? Oh, from their parents; this explains Lindsay Lohan.
See, Dina Lohan and her brother Paul Sullivan ALLEGEDLY walked out on a dinner bill for more than $2500 this past weekend. It seems that Dina set down the box of wine long even for her and her brother to accept four complimentary tickets to new East Hampton restaurant, Andrra, to watch the Great Bonac Fireworks Show and aid the nonprofit Clamshell Foundation, which supports local health, cultural and education projects.
But Dina and Paul didn’t come with two others, as their four tickets suggested. No, Dina, possibly too drunk to read the invitation showed up with a party of eight, and started eating and drinking and cussing like sailors and banging busboys in the bathrooms and then walking out on the bill.
A source—and it may be Ali Lohan trading gossip for food—says, “They dined and dashed on a $2,500 check and didn’t leave a dime for the waiters. The understanding was they would get four free tickets. Anthony stormed up at the end and said, ‘What is this check for?’ Organizers offered a reduced bill for around $1,100, but then they just upped and left without leaving a tip. When organizers later phoned him to demand payment, Sullivan said, ‘My celebrity clients were not happy.’ ”
Andrra owner Rich Silver confirmed that Sullivan and his party left with an unpaid bill but declined to comment further, but Sullivan says, “This is a total lie. My written and verbal agreement with Rich Silver was to comp dinner for 8 to 10 guests, six people ate. There was not to be any bill. Then you get a bill for $2,500? [And] Dina was strictly invited as a guest and had nothing to do with paying anything. This is totally false. There is no bill to pay. I paid $500 for drinks, and I will wire a tip tomorrow.”
Oh, so this is where Original recipe gets her sense of entitlement; well, that and the California judicial system which has given her, apparently 10 strikes, before she’s jailed.
But there’s more…..because Dina loves to run her mouth.
Dina Lohan is furious over accusations that she skipped out on the bill and she’s telling anyone and everyone who will listen that she believes the restaurant where the event was held is dragging her name through the dirt to garner publicity for themselves.
Yeah, they wanna be known as the Dine’n’Dash place.
Dina says, “I was asked to come to this charity event at the last minute and it sounded like a great cause. My brother was involved so I went. I was never given a bill, so I never ran out on anything. Everyone at the table was meant to be comped. The weirdest thing about it was I was invited for a sit down dinner, I did attend the party but I never even ate. I would never in my wildest dreams walk out on a bill or try to avoid paying a charity.”
But you did Dina. See, you were invited but you brought seven other people? Do you not get that? And you probably didn’t eat because you were giving a handie to a dishwasher back by the dumpster when dinner was served.
Sidenote: I loathe Dina ever since she picked my pocket at the Friday’s in Times Square back in 1991, but, um, doesn’t she look years younger than Lindsay?
Must be the chardonnay…..

And, speaking of Lindsay……
You know the cracktress is working again, no? Yeah, she’s got Liz & Dick in the can, or maybe it’s just Dick in the can because I often forget how she rolls these days, and now she’s busy shooting a porn movie, The Canyons, which will be re-titled , before release, Firecrotch Canyon.
And her director, Paul Shrader, has gone all Facebook gaga over Lohan, writing: “Seven days in, first full week completed. Lindsay Lohan is a huge fan of Hollywood glamour and performances from the Golden Era. Working with her every day on varied scenes I’ve been making a mental checklist of classic movie performances she’s touched upon. There’s has been a lot of Ann Margaret, some Gena Rowlands and Faye Dunaway and of course some bits of Liz Taylor and Monroe as well as a little Rita Hayworth and….Oh yeah, and Angie Dickinson. And Lee Remick. And Shelley Winters.”
Um, Paul, you didn’t mention the star she most seems like, Mister Ed.
Now, that horse’s ass could act!

Oh, Oprah, when you fall, you fall hard. Possibly because you’re huge. But you also fall stupid.
In order to shore up the sagging ratings of that money-pit she calls OWN, O is making all sorts of new shows starring, well, O. And one in particular, “Oprah’s Next Chapter: This is what India is like now,” is under fire because of the stereotypes she uses in it about the Indian people.
Oprah may have charmed her Indian audience when she made a brief appearance at the Jaipur Literature Festival, but her shows on the country have left some Indians less than thrilled. See, Oprah really played up the stereotypes about the country: the incense! The Curry! The strapping on of a Sari! How happy the millions who live in the slums seems and how fabulous to be a part of the Bollywood elite! The arranged marriages and the fact that Indians, even rich ones, “still” eat with their hands.
Oops. O. Not good.
“The avg American thinking of India as a place with snake charmers and elephants as main mode of transport, I can understand. But Oprah???” says Nandita Iyer on Twitter. “Honestly, this Oprah winfrey has made such a royal fool of herself with this.”
Shouldn’t used the word royal because that’s all she heard, and she’s now telling people she’s Indian royalty.
Commentator, Gargi Gupta, described the first episode of the television show, with pictures of “roadside cows chomping on garbage and roads choked with traffic,” as just some aspects of the show that may make Indian viewers “groan.”
But, the show wasn’t a complete write-off for Gupta; she found the Big O’s approach tactful when she asked slum dwellers about their hopes and fears, and said, “It suggests a respect for human sensitivities that television anchors in India… would do well to learn.”
Most, however, weren’t happy.
“Myopic, unaware, ignorant and gauche. This was Middle America at its best worst,” wrote Ms. Sen of the show’s first episode. She found O’s comment on Indians still eating with their hands particularly offensive. “I don’t know what people in America are eating their hot dogs, pizzas and tacos with but perhaps Oprah’s home has evolved cutlery for all that.”
Oh honey, O don’t need cutlery. She doesn’t feed herself! She’s slopped six times a day with cakes and cookies, and maybe, if Gayle got lucky hunting, a whole pig.

So, we know that Demi Moore’s daughters are less than thrilled with Mama Moore since she dumped their Brother/Daddy Ashton and started being all Red Bull and Whip It, and being hospitalized and sent to rehab.
But now Demi’s ex, the girl’s daddy, Bruce Willis has stepped into the fray.
And Bruce is firmly entrenched in the “the girls are spoiled” camp, which begs the question, who spoiled ‘em Bruce? Did they do it all on their own or did they have the help to two absentee, narcissistic parents?
Since Rumer, Scout and Tallulah distanced themselves from Mama to get away from her emotional meltdowns, Bruce has let them know their behavior is unacceptable. He’s been calling them spoiled and selfish, and says he doesn’t understand why they are turning on their mom when, for the most part, she’s been an incredibly supportive parent.
Um, maybe it’s the drugs and the Red Bull and the insanity, and maybe they’re gonna try a little tough love?”
While the girls supported Demi through the split from Ashton Cheater, and her stint in rehab, now they feel she should get it together on her own. Bruce, however, feels differently, and will be playing his trump card if the girls don’t start being nice to Mommy.
No.Mo.Money.
And if he cuts them off, they will all be in serious trouble because not one of them works or has managed to save a dime of money they were bathed in as children. They all rely on Bruce and Demi to pay their bills, which means, well, Bruce will be “paying” his daughters to be nice to their mother.
Lovely. All-American family.

I loathe Gwyneth Paltrow as much as Madonna loathes hydrangeas. I mean, she’s always played herself as the Grande Dame of American Cinema because about twenty years ago Harvey Weinstein bought an Oscar for her subpar performance in a subpar film.
And now, well, Gwynnie thinks she can sing. And I imagine there will be a run on ear plugs. [Note to self: call the broker and buy stock in all ear plug companies]
After she filmed Country Strong and recorded some songs for the film, Paltrow was on a big I’m a singer now kick. She was suddenly all over the TV, singing on Glee and the Oscars, the Grammys, and, well, really anywhere with a microphone, including the hostess stand at Applebee’s.
But that was so 2011 so I thought it was over.
But I guess Gwynnie is jealous that hubby Chris Martin, and his band, Coldplay, will be performing at the Olympics in London this month so Paltrow wants to book secret gigs in pubs.
Cuz folks’ll need booze if Gwynnie starts wailin’.
But, funnier than the fact that Paltrow thinks she can sing is that she wants to invite her VIP pals, including Jay-Z and Beyonce, to sing with her. Now, I know Beyonce and Jay-Z are publicity whores, but even they would draw the line sat singing anywhere with Paltrow.
Right?

Over the past decade or so, Kate Hudson’s acting career has progressed from promising, Oscar-nominated, and Goldie daughter, sweetheart, to queen of the predictable, they all look alike romantic comedies. In fact, her last one, A Little Bit of Heaven, went straight to video-on-demand.
So, now her biggest acting gig is shilling skin cream on TV. Huge star. Huge. But, um, who does Kate blame for her fall from real actress to salesperson for Oil Of Olay, or whatever?
Scarlett Johansson.
Yup, Kate is ALLEGEDLY furious that Scarlett has suddenly made it so big as a result of her Black Widow role in both Iron Man 2 and The Avengers that she commands $20 million for the next Avengers movie. And what else can decimate a star’s ego like watching a rival’s stunning career success.
Nothing.
Scarlett and Kate’s rivalry began years ago, when they were competing for Justin Timberlake—man, I can still smell the desperation and closeted homosexuality—but now that Scarlett’s career is going up, and Kate’s is, well, mostly on TV selling creams and lotions, Kate is in the middle of a jealousy-fueled comeback that she hopes will dethrone Scarlett as the queen of Hollywood.
Queen of Hollywood? Oh, honey, the Queen of Hollywood is Elton John, but I digress.
A source—and I think it’s Goldie—says, “It’s incredibly petty, but she still bitches about Scarlett to this day. Every time Kate gets an endorsement deal she Googles to see Scarlett’s deal so she can compare. Kate hasn’t had a major hit in ages, but she’s letting it be known that she’s ready to break out of her mold and become the It Girl in Hollywood again.”
First step, Kate, is to stop picking stupid movies where you play the same blond loon. And stop doing commercials. Why would I pay to see you in a movie—and in the interests of fairness I never have and never will—when I can see your face in the skin care aisle of the local Rite-Aid?
PS Is it me or do these two look alike? Or maybe they use the same hair stylist, you know, the one who doesn't own a comb?
Just sayin’.

Good News Friday: A Lovely Way To Start The Weekend

Nicely done, Tar-Zhay.
Have a good weekend y'all!

PS10EP2: The Candyman Can't

As the sun rises over The Atlas apartments, let's listen to three of the more coherent designtestants:
Kooan: I. Hate. Morning. I just ooh oh aah eeek oh oooh
Gunnar: We don't want to see anyone go, but we want to see them go.
Lantie: I hated being in the Bottom Three, but I could visually see and hear Heidi say, 'Lantie, you are in.'
Yeah, not exactly Project Mensa is it. But let's skip over as many of the inanities as possible and dig right in. This week’s challenge is one of the most popular of any PR season: The Unconventional Challenge. Will it be fruits? Flowers? Dry goods? Nope, it's candy, purchased from Dylan's Candy Bar, owned by guest judge, and daughter of US Olympic team uniform outsourcer Ralph Lauren, Dylan Lauren. The designtestants get $250 to spend, but Dylan gives them 50% off, so, man oh man, $500 worth of candy.
Bury me now in Reese's Pieces.
Christopher
Licorice, Rock Candy
Christopher and Gunnar sittin' in a tree …. And me without my shotgun
Seriously, you two need to get a room. All that side-eye glancing and head-bobbing. Just do it. Do it. I mean, you’re both obviously bottoms, but something could happen and maybe then the drama will be over? I know, you say he’s the Evil Twin and you’re the Good Twin, but schtup him already and move on.
And move on from remaking the same dress week after week. This week’s candy confection had the same pattern and detailing as your gown from last week. Don’t be a one-note Christopher.
Although this week One Note = Safe
Kooan
Cotton Candy, Licorice, Jelly Beans, a Wing and a Prayer
He makes me long for the days of Silent TV. Yeah, I know there’s no such thing, but I can long for ‘em, can’t I?
He is one illiterate furball and the gibberish and the giggles gets old fast. I mean, when Tim came by for the critique, the first, well, I guess you could call them ‘words,’; out of Kooan’s mouth were, Oooo ee loo loo lah lah lah ah ki ki ooo.
Yeah. That's Kooan for My dress is ugly and I think I'm going home.
Just stupid and cartoonish and loud and not wearable--one of the challenges was to make it wearable. I really need him to leave.
Anime squirrel. And yet, sadly, Safe.
Fabio
Crushed Rock Candy
He wanted to make a modern day Jackie O, or a Jackie O Henry if you will and, well, I think he fell short. His look was not so much Jackie O as it was Jackie....yawn....Oh.
But he gets points for his interaction with Tim Gunn during the critique. Tim told him to ‘make it work’ and Fabio said he need to 'glue the sh*t out of his dress.'
To which Tim [gulp] replied, and, wow, this is a direct quote, "So this is a glue the sh*t out of it moment." Could have been tacky, it was a bit shocking, but even Tim Gunn makes sh*t sound uptown.
And, well, Safe.
Andrea
Sheets of Dots, Licorice, Umbrellas
All those degrees in art; an MFA and a BA and an MA and her outfit looks more WTF. She decided to keep the dot candy on the sheets of paper and turn that into an apron and then grab a bunch of aprons and make a bustle.
I.Wanted.To.Kill.Her. And so did Tim who called her outfit stupid and asinine and ugly and, did I mention stupid? I mean, he put it all in Tm Gunn $20 word-speak, but you get the meaning.
Her look was sad, and, really, a bustle? There was no transformation at all. Sheets of candy become an apron and umbrellas become a bustle.
Andrea should have gone home. And taken her MA, BA, MFA home on the LIE.
Alicia
Jelly Beans, Gumballs, Sour Strings
I liked it, but Alicia, except for about ten second with Tim, was hardly seen. I did catch a glimpse of her dreads and they are fantastic. And her one-shouldered overall look was kind of cool. I liked the color, very vibrant—unlike, apparently, Alicia’s personality—but thought the bandeau top was a misfire.
Still. Safe.
Raul
Gummy Strips, Lifesavers
It looked like fabric, which was good, but it looked like bad fabric. And when the model turned around on the runway it was shockingly red in the back. What was that about? And, I’m still on the fence about his hair and the hats.
All in all, Meh.
Melissa
Black Licorice, Twist Ties
She loves black so it was shocking that she went with black licorice and made kind of a Goth rocker chick outfit. It was nice, and she really made the candy and ties look like something other than candy and ties, but it wasn’t enough.
Safe.
Dmitry
Sour Balls, Black T-shirt
Dmitry’s dress was not made of muslin provided by the producers; the top was from a Dylan’s Candy Bar t-shirt and then he created Sour Ball fringe in yellow and red.
I thought it was the best of the show. It looked nothing like candy—and neither did Ven’s—but it moved very well—unlike Ven’s—and just looked lovely.
I was very surprised he wasn’t at least Top Three instead of Gunnar. To be fair, I might have taken anyone in the Top Three other than Gunnar.
Should have won.
Nathan
Foiled Chocolate, Candy Boxes
He is still adorable but, well, with 15 designers, he gets very little airtime because he's A] not a whack job a la Buffi and Kooan, or 2] not quite on par with Ven and Sonjia. And, when you model has to literally hold her dress as she walked the runway to keep it from falling it, that’s just plain wrong. The dress was cute and fun, but that was one heavy mother of a dress.
Safe.
Bottom Three
Elena
Pina Colada Licorice
Dear Elena, You had an entire candy store—and several levels judging from the footage—at your disposal and you picked nothing, nothing, but cream-colored licorice?
Not thinking outside the pasta box, are you?!
She does have a POV—as Kors called it, Warrior woman—but she really needs to step out of her comfort zone and bring in the color.
Red would have been very cool. And I mean a red like the welt she got on her legs when she spilled hot glue on herself. And then cried. Helpful Hint #1: Hot glue is hot, and Helpful Hint #2: When using hot glue, leave the Daisy Dukes at home. M’kay? Better?
Not really, because apparently all that hot glue wasn’t enough to keep her dress from falling apart as she made it, as she tried it on the model, as she took it off the mannequin, as it walked the runway, and as she was judged.
By the end of the episode her model was wearing a Muslin overcoat. Not good.
Heidi--what was with that Snakeskin Jumpsuit?--said it looked like a dude might wear it, which made me wonder if Seal was caught wearing Heidi’s clothes and that's what ended their marriage. But I digress....She knew instantly it was an 'Elena' dress, but also a macaroni project. Kors called it Rigatoni Mad Max and said the model looked huge. Dylan wondered where the creativity had gone, where the fun had gone.
I saw it; it fell off the dress while they were talking.
Buffi
Sour Strips, Tissue Paper, Cotton Candy
She tells us at the start that it’s best to avoid using anything that looks like actual fabric, which means she'll use everything that looks like actual fabric. Tissue paper and umbrellas, much?
Now, she gets credit for the weaving of the candy into a top, but gets dinged because it started to melt almost right away. And then massive points are removed for the hat, which, even after she discovered all the cotton candy in it had evaporated, she still stuck it on her model’s head.
She said her look was Carrie Bradshaw fun, but I thought it was more Paris Hilton Skank. I thought Kooan would bring the crazy but Buffi beat him to the punch
Heidi, who likes short and tight, hated it; and she hated the use of all the tissue paper. Kors said it was less Carrie Bradshaw and more Toddlers and Tiaras Gone Berserk. Dylan Lauren thought it was fun, and the weave work was nice while, for me at least, Nina summed it up with one word: Atrocious!
But not so atrocious that she was sent packing…..
Lantie
Umbrella, Rain Boots. One Gumball
She isn’t thinking about candy for this project…..the CANDY project…. which, I think means she's thinking about packing her suitcase and heading back to wherever her business died to cry at the window
I mean, if this was the Umbrella Challenge, Lantie would have immunity next week, instead of riding the bus back to UglyDressVille. But it wasn't and, well, we know what that means even before Heidi says it.
She started off kinda strong, for Lantie, but she soon scrapped that one and started anew, with umbrella fabric and a piece candy. She says to us, beaming, "I’ve never seen anything like it!"
Yeah, you have, but it was so hideous you blocked it out of your memory.
She literally got some umbrella fabric, then slapped some candy flowers on the skirt and declared herself done. Kors said she made no use of the candy, and failed to transform the candy at all. He called her more of a 'decorator' and Lantie got all pissy and muttered that old stand-by, I didn't have enough time and I suck at this and Can I go home now? Dylan Lauren asked, Where's the candy? Lantie smirked. Heidi simply said it was hard to judge since there was just that one piece of candy on it. And I think that piece of candy got there when the model sat down and it stuck to the skirt. Nina offered faint praise, At least it's not atrocious. And then she asked Lantie to stop complaining. Which will happen because......
Auf'd.
Top Three
Gunnar
Licorice and Candy Foil
His obnoxious personality and Tres Gay Chicken giggle are wearing thin. Plus, seriously, Gunnar, pick a personality. Last week you were Cruella de Bitch and now you wanna be Cruella de Chatterbox. Either get back on your meds or get Auf’d, and soon.
He tells us he dreamt of candy so he'll win this one hands down. I think he dreams of candy most every night, swimming in a Kool Aid river and looking for his Chocolate Boyfriend who looks like Christopher because Christopher is either, A] threatened by Gunnar's fabulous sense of style, or, 2] threatened by Gunnar's fabulous personality, or C] Gunnar.Loves.Him.
Not to worry, I've placed a call to the Delusion Police and Gunnar is the subject of a new Amber Alert. Be on the look-out for his brain.
Gunnar, who cannot let go of his thirteen-year-old-girl crush on Christopher, says if he had immunity like Christopher he'd go all risk risk risk. This, I guess, to him, means checkerboard top, pencil skirt, with a freaking peplum.
Gunnar is one of the most annoying contestants ever on the PR, and I’m taking Kenley and Josh into account when I say that. And, to be fair, even if I found Gunnar slightly amusing or even moderately talented, I would have picked his outfit as a Top Three.
Too simple. Kinda boring. And while the peplum stood out in the front, as peplums are supposed to--like I know a peplum from a Pepto--it was flat and lifeless in the back, much like Gunnar's personality. Heidi liked the print while Dylan said it was creative--though she didn't complain about his lack of color. Kors liked the accessorizing--which means, Good job, but you ain't gonna win because a jelly bean bracelet is not worth immunity. Nina called it fun and serious. And every time anyone spoke Gunnar breathlessly said, Thin Q. Thin Q. Oh, tha'so nice. Thin Q.
Good god, I'm learning to speak Gunnar.
Sonjia
Gummy Sharks, Jelly Beans, Gumballs
Sonjia created a beautiful dress. I loved the shark gummies around the neck; they looked like a gorgeous jeweled neck piece.
Plus, she’s nice, and she can sew, and she can design. And her dress was very pretty, although…..
It kinda looked like Mermaid who works in a Clamshell Diner; I got that from the hat even before Heidi mentioned it. Had she left the hat off, it might have scored higher, though still have lost to Dmitry Was Robbed.
Heidi liked the texture, but also hated the hat, while Dylan also praised Texture and loved the use of all the shades of blue and turquoise. Kors muttered well done, while Nina said it looked like Judy Jetson as a mermaid, but cute and adorable.
Ven
He's so serious, seriously bland, except for his clothes. Laugh a little Ven. Crack a smile. I bet if you glue-gunned Gunnar to a wall you'd finally laugh.
His design was flawless, perfectly executed, but it looked like the same rose motif in the skirt that he used in both designs from last week. I was amazed not one of the judges mentioned that.
I mean, maybe his collection will be called Rose, but for right now, let’s move on.
Pansies would be nice if you like the flower idea.
Still, Ven is one of the designers to watch this season. I loved his vision for creating stained glass and how he saw it in the candy shop and then completely brought it to life. He does have vision and follow through, which some of the other designers sorely lack.
Heidi wants it. It's stunning. She'd wear it. Nina called it sublime, and on trend and candy couture. Kors was stunned because, at first he couldn't even tell what kind of candy Ven had used, but called it clean [is that a compliment?] and chic. Dylan loved that he changed the candy but wished he's used a variety of goodies.
Still, his clean eye, his use of the sublime and the chic got Ven the win. And he shrieked like a girl and pranced around the stage and danced a jig and....
Yeah, he said Thanks and slowly walked off. He's like the Tortoise in Tortoise and the Hare. Slow and steady, slow and steady.

What did YOU Think?

I Didn't Say It ....

Martin Cizmar, the arts and culture editor of Portland Oregon's Willamette Week, on returning his Eagle Scout badge to the Boy Scouts in protest of the group's anti-gay policies:
"I am not gay. However, I cannot in good conscious hold this badge as long as the BSA continues a policy of bigotry. Though I didn't know at the time, I was acquainted with a number of gay scouts and scouters. They were all great men, loyal to the scout oath and motto and helpful to the movement. There is no fair reason they should not be allowed to participate in scouting."

Nice when more and more straight people step up as allies against LGBT discrimination.
Bravo, Mr. Cizmar, Bravo!

Frank Bruni, NYT columnist, on Michelle Bachmann’s hate:
“Does it encourage gratuitously divisive condemnations of Barack Obama as ‘anti-American,’ one of many incendiary phrases in her attacks against him in 2008? And does it compel a war against homosexuality waged with the language and illogic she uses? She has said that gay men and lesbians are dysfunctional products of abuse and agents of ‘sexual anarchy,’ and when the singer and songwriter Melissa Etheridge was battling breast cancer years ago, Bachmann helpfully chimed in: ‘This may be an opportunity for her now to be open to some spiritual things, now that she is suffering with that physical disease. She is a lesbian.’ Bachmann’s concept of Christian love brims with hate, and she has a deep satchel of stones to throw. From what kind of messiah did she learn that?”

Bachmann is the queen of masking her hate of LGBT people in a cloak of Christianity, as she is a master of hiding her loathing of a Black president in the guise of politics.

Dan Cathy, president of Chick-fil-Antigay, spouting his homophobia as the word of god [little g]:
"I think we are inviting God's judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say 'we know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage' and I pray God's mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about."

Um, how does his bigotry fit into Christianity? How does it work in Christian love? And which part of the Bible asked him to hate?

Tony Perkins, AFA bigot-in-chief, on Chick-fil-Antigay, to his minions:
"Last week, Chick-fil-A's CEO Dan Cathy told the Baptist Press of his company's steadfast support for marriage and family. This simple affirmation of biblical truth has sent homosexual activists into a frenzy. Chick-fil-A may be a private company, but that doesn't mean its executives have to surrender their beliefs. Under the First Amendment, they are just as entitled as any American to speak publicly about their views. Those of us who share Chick-fil-A's commitment to the biblical definition of the family need to show them that we stand with them (whether or not we're chicken connoisseurs!). Please join thousands of others and 'Like' our Facebook post supporting Chick-fil-A's stand. Leave a comment in support, or share the post on your page. Join FRC and eat at Chick-fil-A on Wednesday, August 1 for Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day - an effort started by Gov. Mike Huckabee to show that Americans stand with them."

I love how the LGBT community is portrayed as hateful because we call into question a fast food chain that takes its customers money and funnels it into hate group—um, like the AFA.
Chick-fil-Antigay can do whatever they want to do with their money, just like I can do whatever I want to with mine.
And it won’t be buying sammiches at a hate food store.

Tony Perkins, AFA bigot-in-0chief—aftar saying Chick-fil-Antigay ha the right to fund whatever hate they choose, on Google being LGBT-friendly:
"Thanks to a new campaign, Google's approach to traditional values is to search—and destroy. The web giant just kicked off a worldwide push called 'Legalize Love,' aimed at breaking down the barriers to homosexuality around the globe. Their biggest targets? Countries that have moral objections to same-sex relationships…. After watching Target and J.C. Penney take a financial hit after endorsing same-sex marriage, Google should know better. They can push to 'Legalize Love,' but they shouldn't be surprised by the blow back. Because when it comes to Google, political neutrality is what most users are searching for."

Not only does Miss Tony not see his homophobia, his bigotry, his hate, for the LGBT community, he cannot even see what a hypocrite he is; if funding hate is A-OK for Chick-fil-Antigay, then funding love is A-OK for Google.
Asshat.

Randy Thomasson, head of Save California, whining that California's Gay Education Bill won’t be repealed”
"Parents and grandparents who don't want their children and grandchildren sexually indoctrinated with unnatural and unhealthy 'lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender' role models must decide now to exit the immoral, imploding, dysfunctional government school system and place their children in church schools or home schools. This is no time to be indecisive, since you only have one chance with your child's education. Because of SB 48 and seven other homosexual-bisexual-transsexual indoctrination laws, California K-12 government schools have become radical sexual indoctrination agencies."

Funny, all those years I spent in school, having no access to gay education, just the straight kind, and I went all gay. By Thomasson’s own “logic” I should have been indoctrinated into heterosexuality. Oh, but I guess The Straights don’t have the ability to turn people straight; that’s a power for The Gays.

Phyllis Schlafly, on Obama’s non-religion:
“Every time he quotes from the Declaration of Independence, he omits the word ‘Creator.’ That's very strange; we all know what the Declaration says and he just omits that….You were talking a minute ago about Arlington Cemetery; if you haven't been there, I'm sure you've seen pictures of all the crosses there and I just wonder if the day is going to come when they want to take down all those crosses."

Yes, Obama will run across the Potomac and start digging up crosses in a cemetery because he’s not the right kind of Christian.
And by that I mean a white Christian.

Debbie Wasserman-Shultz, Democratic National Committee head, on her belief that marriage equality will be on the national party platform:
“I expect marriage equality to be a plank in the national party platform. President Obama has declared his support for it ... Now, our platform committee process is a people-powered process. We have a platform committee and the platform is developed by our Democratic activists and the platform committee members, so they’ll go through a process. I hope that marriage equality, and expect that marriage equality, will be part of our platform. "

Put it out there.
It’s equality, and it’s for everyone.
It’s about effing time.

Matt Barber, hate group honcho, on Hilary Clinton’s remarks about AIDS:
"Shame on Hillary Clinton. In choosing to ignore the reality that in the United States people are primarily infected with AIDS through deviant homosexual behavior, she has essentially postured with a false air of resolve while cowardly refusing to address the real cause of AIDS in the U.S. and that’s homosexual behavior. We all know better and so should Hillary Clinton. She missed a real opportunity here to show courage and discourage people from engaging in the high-risk behavior of homosexuality that spreads AIDS."

Yup. The kid who contracted HIV through tainted blood was a deviant. The mother who contracted the virus while giving birth to a child is a pervert. People having sex are not deviants.
We should all avoid high risk behaviors that might lead to contracting the virus. Wear a condom; don’t have unprotected sex; get yourself checked; don’t share needles.
But we aren’t deviants, we’re people, and it’s disgusting Barber doesn’t see that.
He is the reason there is still a stigma about HIV and AIDS; he's the problem, not any kind of solution, much less compassion.

Random Musings

Quick question: are we gonna sit and mourn the lives lost in Aurora Colorado last week, or are we finally gonna demand that something be done about the ease in which folks can buy massive amounts of ammunition, and assault weapons and machine guns, for their ‘personal’ use?
I mean, seriously, with the exception of a soldier on the ground in a war torn country, who needs a machine gun?
I’m sure I’ll be asking these questions again the next time some nut job flunks a test and wants to take out a bunch of strangers.
Seriously.
Of course, when I say do something about gun control, I mean get the politicians involved and make them stand up to the NRA lobbyists.
Like that will ever happen.
But then I happened upon Beth's, of Nutwood Junction, Facebook page and saw this excerpt from an interview that Mittsy did with Brian Williams of NBC. In it, Mittsy talks about what we need to do to make sure this never happens again.
Let's listen in….
Brian Williams: "On things however like Aurora, Colorado, do you see why Americans get frustrated at politics. They can see and hear your words from earlier in their career, people are hurting out there. Perhaps they want to start a national conversation about whether an AR-15 belongs in the hands of a citizen, whether a citizen should be able to buy 6-thousand rounds off the Internet. You see the argument?"
Mitt Romney: "Well this person shouldn't have had any kind of weapons and bombs and other devices and it was illegal for him to have many of those things already. But he had them. And so we can sometimes hope that just changing the law will make all bad things go away. It won't. Changing the heart of the American people may well be what's essential, to improve the lots of the American people."
Bob said, on Facebook What an utterly delusional, out-of-touch, pandering fuck. Hopefully people will really listen to his moronic statements and change their hearts and minds about voting for this useless fool. Asshat!

Boo hoo. Penn State was fined and punished for its part in covering up years and years worth of child rape. Boo-effing-hoo.
First the halo gets removed from aider and abettor Joe Paterno on a mural, followed by the removal, and, I wish, disposal, of a Paterno statue. And folks at Penn State and whined and stomped their feet about that.
Now, comes the fines and punishment to the university.
Penn State was socked with a four-year postseason ban, the loss of 40 scholarships over four years and a $60 million fine for covering up the Jerry Sandusky child sex-abuse scandal. In addition, all victories from 1998-2011 have been vacated.
Never happened.
Boo-effing-hoo.
If you whine about this, and I know some of you will, ask yourselves what the victims of Sandusky, Paterno, and Penn State wouldn't give to have their abuse ‘vacated’ as if it never happened.
If you choose football over children, you’re on the wrong team.
PS The $60M fine will be used to create a fund for the victims of sexual abuse.

The Palins have never been known for being particularly gay-friendly--or even very intelligent--so is it so surprising that the newest members of Alaska's First White Trash Family, Blister's illegitimate son, Tripp, is already, at age three, a homophobic asshat?
See, there's this clip from the Lifetime reality series "Blister Palin: Life's a Tripp" where his mama, and his bigot aunt, and functional illiterate, Willow, won't let him go in the pool, and Tripp responds by calling his aunt a "faggot."
And Blister and Willow bust out in giggles, because nothing brings a family together like hate.
Sidenote: Blister says Tripp didn't call Willow a "faggot" he called her a "fucker."
Oh, that's so much better.

More fallout from the Boy Scouts of America's announcement that they will continue being homophobic. Major League Soccer was set to partner with the BSA starting this year, but have already decided that one year is enough:
“Major League Soccer’s agreement with the Boy Scouts of America expires at the end of the 2012 season and MLS does not intend to renew the agreement for a variety of business reasons,” MLS President Mark Abbott said in a statement.
"Business" reasons. Uh huh. Blatant homophobia is a business to the BSA, I guess.

Mariah Carey is the newest judge on American Idol, and I'm guessing the announcement made JLo fall off her Louboutins; luckily, she has that fat ass to land on.
See, JLo was making about $15 million dollars a season on Idol for her musical expertise, and left possibly because the AI producers wouldn't cough up more dough.
But then they signed Carey for $18 million a season.
Crazy pays in Hollywood, and if y'all thought Paula was nuts, spend a minute--because that's all you'll need--watching Mariah "judge".

The Jackson Family Feud.
Seriously. Does anyone not believe it's about the money? I mean, Michael left his siblings out of his will--not that there was much in there to begin with because Propofol is expensive--but now that Grandma Jackson has turned his estate around and it's worth about a billion big ones, all the fighting has started again.
And, why do they all have to Tweet their family business?
Seriously.
STFU and get a job.

Okay, so first Chick-fil-Antigay came out as being blatantly homophobic, while couching it in Christian beliefs.
Then people threatened to boycott. Then Mike Huckabee, one of the more inane and pointless human beings on the planet, came out for Chick-fil-Antigay because God Hates Fags, or some such.
Then The Muppets said, 'Fuck you Mike and Chick-fil-Antigay.' Or something, I might be paraphrasing. But The Muppets ended their affiliation with Chick-fil-Antigay over the fast food company's bigotry.
Now, and this is funny, Chick-fil-Antigay has announced that they are yanking all those Muppets toys right out their Baby Jeebus-approved kid's meals:
"Chick-fil-A is initiating a voluntary withdrawal for our Jim Henson Creature Shop Puppet Kid's Meal Premiums due to a product issue. In lieu of the kid's meal premium we will offer a Kid's Icedream. We plan to have replacement kid's meal premiums within 2 weeks. Thank you and we apologize for any inconvenience."
Funny thing is that Chick-fil-Antigay took a page out of Mittsy's playbook and "retroactively" removed the Muppet Toys, making it seem as if the decision had been made before Kermit told them to kiss his green ass.
It's funny because Chick-fil-Antigay, and homophobia, is stupid.
