I Didn't Say It ...

Pramila Jayapal, Democrat Representative from  Washington, on the SCOTUS ruling that greenlights racial profiling in America:

“In overturning a lower court ruling, the Supreme Court is today greenlighting the use of racial profiling by an already rogue administration. Speaking Spanish or looking Latino are no=w acceptable precursors for law enforcement to  stop someone in the country, according to the rightwing justices. This is a violation of our freedoms and a repeat performance of a Supreme Court that is continuing to consolidate power in itself and undermine lower court rulings made by judges appointed by both Democratic and Republican presidents.”

This is America under The Felon and his Fascist Regime. Your skin color is a crime; your accent is a crime; the language you speak is a crime.

Sounds about white, eh?

Matthew Dowd, MSNBC analyst, on the death of Charlie Kirk:

“[Kirk has] been one of the most divisive, especially divisive, younger figures in this, who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech aimed at certain groups. And I always go back to hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions. And I think that’s the environment we’re in. You can’t stop with these sort of awful thoughts you have and then saying these awful words and not expect awful actions to take place. And that’s the unfortunate environment we are in.”

As I said, if you preach hate and live by hate you will die by hate. Dowd was subsequently fired by MSNBC for this comment and then released another statement via Twitter:

“My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Charlie Kirk. On an earlier appearance on MSNBC I was asked a question about the environment [of hate] we are in. I apologize for my tone and my words. Let me be clear, I in no way intended for my comments to blame Kirk for this horrendous attack. Let us all come together and condemn violence of any kind.”

Let’s be clear, as Kirk was shot he was preaching hate against the trans community, saying trans people are responsible for mass shootings in the country.

Kirk has also suggested gay people be put to death.

He preached hate, that’s clear, but you mix in hate speech and easy access to guns and this is what occurs. The only thing different in this time the GOP didn’t band together and sing a chorus of their biggest hit, “Thoughts and Prayers,” but instead preached more hate saying it’s people on the left who killed Charlie Kirk.

Kerry Kennedy, RFK Jr's sister, on her brother’s ineptness to head Health and Human Services:

"The first smallpox vaccine was developed in 1796. Since then, countless vaccines have been developed and saved millions of lives. Vaccines work. This is not up for debate. Medical decisions belong in the hands of trained and licensed professionals, not incompetent and misguided leadership. The decimation of critical institutions, like the NIH and the CDC, will lead to the loss of innocent lives. This means that children, mothers, fathers, and those you love are at risk now, like never before. I stand with the many courageous individuals in the medical and scientific communities who have had to set aside their vital work to speak truth to power to keep the public safe. Enough is enough. Secretary Kennedy must resign. Now."

Usually families like the Kennedys keep quiet about the black sheep among them, but when that black sheep is clearly incompetent and ill-equipped for such a powerful position, and holding the lives of Americans in his hands, a Kennedy speaks up.

Boy George, speaking to The London Times about transphobia and why identity politics can sometimes be harmful:

“Trans people are the new people to hate, but I always say: how many trans people have you met today? There’s the world on the internet, which is hideous and full of anger. Then there’s the real world, which is entirely different. So, in reality, people have nothing to be nervous about. If I’m really lucky, my own sexuality takes up about three hours a month. We’ve all got cats to feed, families to visit, jobs to do. I said in an interview when I was 17, ‘Being gay is like eating a bag of crisps. It’s so not important.’ I still think that now. What do you care about someone’s sexuality unless you’re going to have sex with them? … I don’t think [identity politics have] helped anyone. We’re not a thing. It’s like, ‘This is what Black people are, this is what Jewish people are, this is what trans people are.’ No! Everybody is diverse because nobody is like anybody else, so you’re starting from the wrong perspective.”

It boils down to this: what does it matter to you if a person is trans? What harm is done to you by a trans person living openly and authentically?

Laura Ingraham, Fox News liar, on the notion that women—and she mentioned Kamala Harris—don’t prioritize marriage:

“Young conservative men seem to still have their priorities straight because a new poll from NBC News shows that men ages 18 to 29 who voted for Trump ranked having children number one priority, the definition of success. Being married came in number four. So what about Gen Z men who voted for Kamala? Well, they ranked having children at number nine, getting married at number 10. It’s even worse with female Gen Z Kamala voters. Being married at 11, way down in the list for them. Having kids, well, that’s ranked way down at number 12. What is going on with women and not wanting to prioritize family? Isn’t social media great? Didn’t it teach people all the right lessons?”

I have been trying to keep the idiotic quotes out of this post, but the sheer ignorance of Laura Ingraham denigrating women who don’t prioritize marriage when she has never been married, is the height of hypocrisy.

Ingraham does, however, have three adopted children: a son, Michael, and two daughters, Maria and Grace.

  1. Quite a few people are pointing out Laura's marriage problem.

  2. Ugh
Every time I see a pic of Ingraham I just want to close my browser.
And Boy George is correct: one thing is the world of the internet (a barren landscape of fuckery) and another one the real world: I'm only concerned with someone's sexuality if I'm sleeping with them.
Kennedy is not right for ANY job. His only qualification is his last name.

    XOXO

  4. People of my generation worry about the children of today. They can use I-pads, but many cannot use the toilet when they get to school, they can't speak properly because those who profess to love them don't talk to them. They cannot read or write. and the world we are bequeathing to them is already broken and getting worse as plastic fills our brains as well as our seas. As the food we eat becomes less and less nutritious and necessities like water are wasted on creating AIs that have learnt to lie to us, is it any wonder that young people do not want children?

  5. The Dowd firing is ridiculous. The man was asked a question. He's a paid consultant to render his opinion when a host asks. He didn't say anything that wasn't true. More capitulation by the media.

There's a difference between prioritizing family and making more babies. But maybe the bleach has penetrated her brain even further. So. Inga can go fuck off. Bravo to the generations not focused on more overcrowding of the planet.

    1. And to be fair he simply told the truth: Kirk spread hate speech and lies masked as Bible Study. If you preach hate, hate will come back at you.
Ingraham cannot even see her own hypocrisy.

🤬🤬 Speaking truth about a hateful MAGA crank gets you fired on the Left. On the Right, the lies about that crank are as ridiculous as he was. Lawmakers saying "he was a voice for free speech...always willing to debate." JFC!! Kirk was always ready to suck people into asking questions so he could spew his shit back at them...he was very successful at that! 💩
Last night, after some of my outrage had subsided, I made the mistake of watching some more news and lost my mind AGAIN!! Casket of Kirk carried back to Arizona on AIR FORCE TWO!! With members of the US military (which Kirk was NOT) handling the casket!! ⚰️💩🤬 Even MSNBC referred to Air Force Two as JD Vance's plane...nope! It's ours!! I know that the administration in power gets the right to transport who they want (dead or alive), but a military honor guard is stolen valor pure and simple!!
I just can't wait for that first time someone asks me, "where were you when you heard that Charlie Kirk was shot and killed?" 😢 Really?! 😵‍💫

    1. I watched little too none of the coverage; I read about it all online.
Charlie Kirk did not deserve to be murdered but he trafficked in hate speech and lies. His last statement before he was killed was about most mass shooters being trans ... which is a lie.
If someone asks ME that question I will ask where they were when children were murdered in Sandy Hook or Uvalde or Minneapolis or Littleton or or or or or or or

  11. The Supreme Court’s ruling on racial profiling is deeply troubling and highlights how critical it is for all of us to stay informed, stand up for justice, and support those whose rights are being eroded. Boy George’s reminder to focus on our shared humanity and not let identity politics divide us is a breath of fresh air. Thank you for raising awareness with such clarity and courage, Bob. You are the best.

  12. So much to unpack here. IQ45 has a hatred for anyone not white cis males. The Supreme Court ruling doesn't surprise me because they've already said nothing he does is wrong. Even though reasonable people know that to be false.
To be honest I doubt I'd know whether a person was transgender. Clearly, it is something that is intensely personal and I'm certain not a decision made without much thought.
Finally the marriage thing. I've had two children, raising them without their fathers. Both had and/or went on to have more children...most of whom they failed to support. It's a personal anecdote but had I married either of them my children would have been worse off as id have been trying to support another adult as well.
It is my opinion that young women have seen the lack of responsibility demonstrated by young men and decided to go it on their own.

  13. It appears that Tyler Robinson was raised in a Republican family and that, in voting terms, he was registered as "unaffiliated". So far at least there is no evidence that he was "leftist" or even a Democrat supporter. Mind you, this won't bother Trump and his gang. Far too swiftly they had jumped to wrong and dangerous conclusions - seeking to stir up hatred.
