… that when people ask me
where was the last place I flew, I say ‘Off the handle and there’s another
potential flight on the way.’
… that whenever people say to me, ‘You’re going places,’ my
first thought is an asylum.
… that it makes me happy to
see so many people embracing therapy; some of them could use an exorcism, but …
baby steps.
… that we all need to know that the final stage of healing
is telling people to fuck off.
… that people must learn that
there are two ways of doing things: my way and my other way. …
that one time, in the third grade, I zoned out and I don’t think I ever zoned back
in.
… that when people tell me
that I’m too quiet I say it’s because I rarely make sense when I talk.
… that the best part about
living in a small town is that when you don’t know what you’re doing, someone
else does.
… that when a friend says,
‘Oh no, that’s so mean, I can’t say that,’ I say, ‘Give me the phone.’
… that even though I bought
new shoes with memory foam insoles I still cannot remember why I walked into
the kitchen.
… that I keep forgetting that
aging is a process; I was in bed last night for twenty minutes when I heard the
pizza guy cough and realized I’d gone to my room to get my wallet. |
The first five all made me laugh -- self-recognition, LOL!
ReplyDeleteAre you saying this is you, too????
DeleteThe pizza guy? Hell, and I thought I was bad.
ReplyDeletePerhaps I was tired or the pizza guy was hot???
DeleteThanks, I needed the giggles this morning.
ReplyDeleteI'm here to help!
DeleteI do love Saturdays with you! ❤️🤭
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteTherapy...yep, there needs to be a first step for some folks; don't want to name names, though - it could land me in jail.
ReplyDeleteYou do have to be careful these days!
DeleteI didn't think of you as being too quiet, Bob. ;)
ReplyDeleteI am actually, truthfully, painfully shy around people I don't know in situations where I am not comfortable. In my own home, at work, surrounded by friends? Yes, I am far from quiet!
DeleteMore proof that you are one hell of a happy-go-lucky guy Bob. Keep dancing bro!
ReplyDeleteI try to err on the side of joy!
Deletethe dog's mother
ReplyDeletexoxo :-)
Very good. I like the memory sole.
ReplyDeleteYou'd think those insoles could help more than just my feet!!
Delete🤪 But that's why everybody should be more quiet!! It's hard to make much sense, but too many people can't STFU about it!! 🤣
ReplyDeleteSilence IS golden.
DeleteGood ones, they all made me laugh!
ReplyDeleteAnd laughter is good, eh?
DeleteThe last two got me giggling! I've gone from being 'she's too quiet' to 'why don't she shut up'! Each carries its own special joy.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember where I put my memory foamed shoes.
When mothers would sit around and talk about their children my mother would often say that I didn't start talking until I was 18 years old and I hadn't shut up since.
DeleteWhy is it that I identify with almost all of these?
ReplyDeleteCuz try as we might we are all more alike than we realize???
DeleteAnnouncing Bob's off the handle flight to oblivion, now boarding at gate number 13. Please have your boarding passes out and ready, or else.
