Another Day, Another Mitt-Flop

Remember the olden days of yester....day. You know, when videotapes of Mittsy speaking at a $50,000 a plate dinner said he doesn't care about 47% of Americans because they're victims and want a handout and, well, they're gonna vote for Obama so he just doesn't care? Remember that? And all the flack that came up about it and how all the usual GOP goosesteppers stood up for Mittsy and said he was right?

Yeah, Mittsy's changed his mind on that. Now he says his campaign is about "100 percent" of Americans. Flip-f**king-flop.

Pandering for the Latino vote--and remember his comment about wishing he was Mexican because then he'd win the election for sure--at a forum sponsored by Spanish-language broadcaster Univision, Mittsy backtracked, sidestepped, and flip-flipped about his disdain for roughly half of all Americans:
"First of all, this is a campaign about the 100 percent. And over the last several years, you’ve seen greater and greater divisiveness in this country. We had hoped to come back together but instead you've seen us pulled apart. I am concerned about the fact that over the past four years, life has become harder for Americans."
Except for Americans like Mitt Romney, who probably paid next to nothing in taxes and was able to send a lot of his cash outside the country so he'll still be a One-Percent Good Ol Boy. Money Boo Boo.

And then when the story broke that Mittsy's own Daddy was on the government dole--and thus would be one of those 47% that Romney can't be bothered with--Mittsy evoked his Daddy as an example of someone who benefited from government help without becoming dependent:
"My dad was born in Mexico of Americans parents living there. At age 5 or 6 there was revolution. They came back to the United States, and my dad had to get help, financial help. The government helped his family be able to get on their feet again. By the way, that’s the way America works, we have great hearts; we care for people who have needs. We help get them back. We help lift them up but then they go back to their permanent lifestyle. We help people, we get them on their feet and they build a brighter future.”
Hmm, so whatever your Dad built, he had the help of the government? He had help. He didn't build it by himself, he had help from the government and from mentors and teachers and....wait, where have I heard this before? Oh yeah, from my President; the one who wants to work for all Americans, not just the one-percent; the one who doesn't blatantly call half of all Americans victims and users.

Let's break it down: Mitt Romney is about what's best for Mitt Romney. He makes money, and good for him that he does it. But he doesn't work for America he works for Mitt Romney. He takes over, dismantles, fires and then sells. Is that what we want from a president? Mitt Romney cares about Mitt Romney. When he talks about the Salt Lake Olympics he doesn't talk about "the games," he talks about how he "saved" them.

Mitt Romney is about Mitt Romney, and we’ve seen, almost all of the time, and most definitely this week, that he doesn't care about many of us. We've seen that he only cares about Mitt Romney and people like him.

Not "you people."

Not "those people."

  3. I says what he wants his audience to hear, whichever audience he's speaking to at the time. And the gullible don't even see it.
