Billie Holiday passed away at age 44. One of my favorite singers; I could listen to her all day, every day. For more on Lady Day, you can read my post from Black History month HERE.
Anybody who loves Billie Holliday is okay in my book. Isn't that nice to know?
But in seriousness, the quality of pop singing has taken such a tumble that everyone ought to become aware of real musicality like Billie's. There really was a time when "singing" didn't mean hitting such-and-such a note. It meant hitting you in the heart.
Wow. How could that have been 50 years ago? Doesn't seem possible. Thanks for the posting.
