Larry Kramer Is A Married Man!

I have long admired Larry Kramer for his art, his writing and, mostly, for his in-your-face activism on the part of both the LGBT community and equality, and his work with HIV/AIDS patients. In 1980, as someone who was right there when the disease, that so-called ‘gay cancer’, that became known as AIDS, Kramer and his friends founded the Gay Men’s Health crisis [GMHC]—which is the largest private organization in the world assisting people living with AIDS.

But that wasn’t enough for Kramer, and in frustration at the lack of interest by both the government and the apathy of gay men to the crisis, he penned The Normal Heart in 1985, which fueled his fight and lead to him founding the AIDS Coalition to Unleash power [ACT UP] in 1987.

He has been a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for his play The Destiny of Me and is a two-time recipient of the Obie Award. The Normal Heart won the Tony Award for best play revival on Broadway in 2011, and Larry Kramer received a special Tony last month for his humanitarian service.

But that’s not why I mention Kramer today; today there is another story: Larry Kramer got married.

Kramer married his longtime partner, David Webster last week in the intensive care unit of NYU Langone Medical Center, where Kramer has been recovering from surgery for a bowel obstruction. They had set the wedding date weeks earlier, and Kramer and Webster weren’t going to let a little thing like surgery and the ICU stop them.

The original plan—to be married on the terrace of their Greenwich Village apartment with two witnesses and a judge—was scrapped in favor of the ICU, where some two dozen friends and relatives watched Kramer and Webster tie the knot.
“I had been traveling when Larry went into the hospital, and when I was back and he was able to talk, he told me he had invited 20 people to the I.C.U. for the wedding. So it turned into a little party at his bedside.”—David Webster
Instead of the usual vows, Kramer and Webster just spoke from the heart; David Webster laughed, and said, “Why would Larry need a script?”

Kramer had long been skeptical of state laws permitting same-sex  marriage as long as DOMA was in place, going so far as to call those marriages “feel-good marriages” because they conveyed few tangible benefits. But, once DOMA was dead, Kramer and Webster decided it was time; time to marry and have friends and family and the state of New York and their country accept the fact that they are now a legally married couple.

Perhaps one day, all gay couples in all states will be able to have that same feeling: acceptance, but until then, Congratulations to the happy couple!.

Is Target Still Funding Anti-LGBT Politicians?

Is Target at it again? Y’all remember, way back in 2010 when the Target Corporation was forced to apologize after stories surfaced that it had funded campaign ads for anti-LGBT Minnesota gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer? And remember how Target kept saying they are big supporters of the LGBT community while giving big cash to Emmer and his ilk? Well, now it turns out that Target’s apology wasn’t real, and that Target is still giving money to anti-LGBT anti-gay candidates.

In fact, even during the same time period that Target was apologizing, the corporation donated some $31,200 to anti-LGBT candidates in that election cycle, and now we find out that Target is funding, albeit indirectly, the campaign of virulently homophobic Ken Cuccinelli in his bid to become Virginia’s next governor.

And this is how they do it: Target, in the first six months of 2013, contributed $50,000 to the Republican Governors Association, a group which has spent, wait for it because this is an example of the GOP’s new inclusiveness, almost $3 million on Cuccinelli‘s gubernatorial campaign. Now, to be fair, Target also gave $50,000 to the Democratic Governors Association, which is supporting Democratic candidate for governor of Virginia, Terry McAuliffe.

But, how does the LGBT community overlook Target’s money going in Cuccinelli‘s coffers? And should we look the other way? This isn’t about supporting Republicans or Democrats; it’s about giving money without a care as to where it goes, and to whom.

When the shiz hit the Target fan over the Emmer contributions, Target CEO Gregg Steinhafel apologized, then backed off his apology and then apologized again. Then Steinhafel promised to launch “a strategic review and analysis of our decision-making process for financial contributions in the public policy arena” and to start “a dialogue focused on diversity and inclusion in the workplace, including GLBT issues.”

It doesn’t sound like Target is coming through on that promise, but if they wanted to, they could begin donating only to those candidates who are LGBT-friendly, and deny support for those like Cuccinelli. But I hate that Target keeps calling itself a friend to The Gays when they are giving money to people who seem to have one goal, which is to deny us equality.

Of course, in damage control mode, Target spokeswoman Molly Snyder released a statement:
Target’s commitment to the LGBT community is long-standing and unwavering.
We also believe strongly in our civic responsibility to engage in a bipartisan manner at the state and federal level in order to learn about public policy priorities and advocate on issues that affect our business, such as fairness legislation. One of the ways we do this is through membership in both the Democratic and Republican Governors Associations, both of which include several hundred other corporate members.  When paying for our memberships, we explicitly require that our dues not be used for any individual electoral campaigns or other electioneering efforts. It would therefore be wrong and inaccurate to associate our membership dues with any particular political candidate or campaign.
This sounds like a heaping pile of ignorance to me. Target is saying that they give money, in the form of membership dues, to both sides, and yet require that their monies not be used “for any individual electoral campaigns”.

That’s kinda hard to do, Target. You can’t hand someone a check for dues to their organization and then ask that the money not be given to certain parts of the group. Target is trying to play the Ignorance Card, but they know, as most folks know, that the GOP is still, by and large, and anti-LGBT political group so when you give them money—even for dues—you are paying for their candidates reelection and for their agenda.

Ignorance is n o excuse.

I Ain't One To Gossip But ...

Okay, so we know that Lindsay Lohan got a pretty sweet $2 million dollar deal from Oprah and so now she’s looking for a way to spend her wad’o’dough, and she’s thinking … sperm.

Lindsay is ALLEGEDLY thinking that she needs to have a child so she’ll be less likely to steal jewelry, kidnap people, drive drunk, snort cocaine, make bad movies, etc., and now, according to a source — Dina Lohan — Lindsay has approached several male friends and asked them to be sperm donors:
“She thinks having a baby will keep her on the straight and narrow! She has it in her head that she’s totally clean, and wants a baby because she feels it’s the one thing that would keep her grounded. She’s talked about having a baby before, which we all thought was ridiculous and we still can’t believe she’s thinking about it now – but she’s actively trying to recruit sperm-daddies!”
Um California, I know you’ve had issues with Lohan in the past and seem to have a special place in your legal heart for her because she rarely gets punished for anything she does, but if you let Lohan become a parent then I may have to ask for your secession.

And speaking of Lohan and Oprah, the Big O is getting a lot of heat for paying Lohan the 2 mil for the interview/reality show docu-series. But that’s nothing compared to what a former co-star is saying about her.

Rae Dawn Chong co- starred with O in the The Color Purple so before we get to the juice, let’s talk smack about Oprah and the movie. See, Oprah was sure that Purple would make her a huge star, in more ways than one, and while she was making the film she begged Steven Spielberg to put her name above the title alongside Whoopi and Danny Glover on the movie poster. Spielberg said, and I quote, “Who are you and why are you eating all the cookies?”

And then he said, ‘No.’

But on the last season of the Oprah show, when Big O was having a Purple reunion, Purple producer Quincy Jones finally caved and presented O with a movie poster that had her name on it. It was ridiculous.

And here’s where we get to Chong.   While she says Oprah was “lovely” to work with on The Color Purple, it was when Chong did her next film, Commando, with Arnold Schwarzenegger, that O flipped out on her, according to Rae Dawn:
“I starred in Commando. And she just wasn’t having me. She’s competitive. She didn’t like me. She just wasn’t having me. [She was a] total beeyotch. You know what? It was like, ‘F-ck you bitch.’”
Not nice, especially since today it’s mostly, ‘Who is Rae Dawn Chong?’, and with O it’s still, ‘How come you ate all the cookies?”

But then Rae Dawn goes on to praise O, saying “All I can say is she is amazing. I respect her. I think she’s done great things for women of color, for women of a certain size.” Ouch.

Then she flips back: “The thing that’s really great about Oprah, that you can’t take away from her, is that she’s a great brownnoser. If you were in a room with her, she will pick the most powerful person and become best friends with them. When we worked with her, the one thing about Oprah, she was that fat chick that was that cheerleader, or the wannabe cheerleader in school, that was the student council president that was best friends with the principal…she was that fat chick in school that did everything and everybody loved her. That’s Oprah. Love me, love me, love me. You gotta respect her, no matter how vile she is, ‘ cause ultimately she’s all about Oprah and she’s boring.”

Wow. But then it goes on; when asked to rate Oprah’s looks on a scale of 1-10, Rae Dawn says O is a ‘4’: “If  you look at the way she looks, she looks like 60 years ago she would have been a housekeeper, luckily. She would not have been a house n—-r. She would have been a field n—-r.”

Chong’s agent — apparently with a straight face — insists that Chong wasn’t saying anything terrible and that you have to “listen to the whole interview” and that all of these parts were — get ready for this classic — “out of context.”

And Chong took to Twitter to insist, “In context, I was actually complimenting Oprah.”

WTF. I’d hate to see what Rae dawn has to say about you when she’s knocking you down.

Kanye West is a big fat douche.

He hates paparazzi, and even writes raps about how much he hates them, and then he goes and sperminates the biggest paparazzi-loving whore on the planet.

Big fat stupid douche; and to prove that, Kanye apparently, not ALLEGEDLY, started a fight a paparazzo, Daniel Ramos, at LAX last weekend.

It all started when the guy began to question Kanye and Kanye wouldn’t talk, and then muttered something about how the photographer was trying to rile him up so he’d do something stupid: “You’re trying to get me in trouble so I have to pay you, like, $250,000.”

And then he did the something stupid. He tackled the paparazzi and tried to take his camera, which, in my world, means he assaulted the man and tried to rob him.

According to sources — the thirty or so other paparazzi who were there that night — Kanye “shoved [Ramos] to the ground, yelling at him” after the guy tried to take his photo. Kanye "grabbed his shoulders and punched him.” Paramedics were called to the scene and now the paparazzo wants to press charges for what could be felony assault.

Although I wish he’d get arrested and tried for assault, this is California, where Lohan gets away with actual murder — I mean, c’mon, she singlehandedly killed her career — so I don’t expect Kimmy’s Baby Daddy to get actual jail time.

Sadly.

UPDATE: Apparently Kanye makes enough money off his, um, music to afford a really good attorney because law enforcement sources say it’s virtually certain he will not  be charged with any crime in connection with his assault on the photographer.

So Kanye will skate and quite probably beat up another paparazzi.

Sadly.

Kris Jenner’s new talk show Kris! is so low rent even baby North West will not come on, which caused Granny Kris to steal a baby from someone on her staff and pretend it was North. Still, I bet Kim comes on soon and talks all about being a mommy because, well, she’s the first woman to ever give birth.

But the funny part of the story is the reviews for Jenner’s show; most are bad, some are downright nasty.

Linda Stasi, from the New York Post, said Jenner had as much right hosting a show as her ‘talentless daughter had for hosting a talent show’ and that she comes across as a ‘demented Norma Desmond.’

Hey! I know Norma Desmond and Kris Jenner? You, sir are no Norma Desmond!

I digress. Kris was said to be so incensed by Stasi’s review that she tried to bribe her way to a better one by sending gifts and a passive-aggressive note. She sent Linda Stasi a dozen Magnolia cupcakes, a $325 sterling silver Tiffany pen, and a note saying, Stasi should use the pen to write a ‘better review next time.’

Not smart Kris, because Stasi wrote another column, talking about the bribes Jenner had sent, and ended with this: ‘I cannot be bought for a pen. A pen and pencil set, maybe, but just a pen? To improve your ratings, Mrs. Jenner, either you somehow become interesting, which given the data seems as likely as the pope turning Jewish, or you do better with the bribes.’

Funny, cuz it’s true.

So, Barbara Walters was all about The Bay this week on The View, mainly because ABC decided to throw her a bone and let her anchor a news special about the birth of a child.
And on The View she went on and on and on about the baby while across the table Whoopi Goldberg — like me — rolled her and said she just didn’t care.

Well, Babs doesn’t like her minions deriding the twilight of her career, so she took a little jab at Whoopi on air, saying, as she leaned across the table and looked at Goldberg, “I would really like to talk about tonight. Whoopi will not be watching, but we hope you will, and we hope there are a lot of people who give a damn, because we’ve worked hard on this.”

As Babs plugged her show — because her time on TV is almost done —Goldberg looked off set to make a face.

After the show, Barbara apparently was quite angry with Whoopi for being, um, Whoopi, and chastised her again, which, according to the New York Post, ended up with Whoopi saying something like, ‘I can’t wait until you’re gone, you Apple Granny looking mother**ker.’

Or something.

A source — and it could be Behar, since she’s also leaving the show — says Whoopi ranted backstage, “I can’t handle it anymore. I can’t wait till she retires. I’m tired of her cutting me off.”

But, in true Whoopi fashion, when asked to comment on the story, she replied, “Who the f**k told you this? I don’t rant at ‘The View’ for seven minutes for any reason. That would not have come out of my mouth, especially not at ‘The View.’ I’m not stupid.”

Still, I have seen Whoopi roll her eyes when Barbara goes off on one of her WTF tangents so I can see her getting annoyed when Grandma starts riffin' during Hot Topics.

Just sayin’.
Will Smith is somewhere stomping his feet right now. First, his latest bombed worse than a Lindsay Lohan Liz Taylor Lifetime bio-pic, and now the not-Scientology school that he and his wife, Jada, founded in 2008 has gone belly up.

The school—in Calabassas, California—was  called the New Village Learning Academy, and while they didn’t equate themselves with Scientology, they used only Scientology teaching methods, including something called Study Tech—which may or may not be a school on a spaceship somewhere—or might actually be an unproven educational concept developed by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.

And the staff at not-Scientology School? Most were Scientologists. In fact, the original principal, an actual not-Scientologist was replaced by a Scientologist when she started to question the use of Scientology teaching methods.

Is it surprising? Well, not when you realize that Will Smith has lost some of his mojo, and not when you realize that people—the not-Scientologists—are becoming more and more leery of anything Scientology-related. But still, it’s got to be a blow for Mr. and Mrs. Smith, who poured their own millions into the school, and who sent their own children there, until they realized their children would be better served by working.

As described in its tax returns, the school took in $1,235,000 from the Smiths’ WJS Trust to get the academy going in 2008 and then the Smiths financed the first three years of the school. But contributions kept going down—like a Will Smith box office—and now the not-Scientologists have to find a new place where they can be taught by Scientologists using Scientology methods in a not-Scientologist school.

Just sayin’.

There's a story, or stories, going around about the ALLEGED hook-up-booty-calls between Eva Longoria and George Clooney while Clooney's soon-to-be ex Stacey Kiebler was out of town. And we learned that Eva don’t like being booty called and told George no more hook-ups till Stacey was gone.

Shorthanded: Clooney took too long dumping Kiebler and Longoria found someone newer, and younger, and, yes, taller; Ernesto Arguello. And the theory is that Eva picked up Ernesto—who was a contestant on her failed dating-reality show—when Clooney wouldn’t dump Stacey and that Eva has taken to “flaunting” Ernesto all over the place so Clooney would get jealous.

Now, Clooney could get jealous, because of the younger and taller and newer boyfriend, but, um, Eva? Your new boy-toy is $4 million in debt so I imagine Clooney is laughing all the way to his overflowing bank.

Still, Eva wants this relationship to work so she is having a part written for Ernesto on the show she’s producing, Devious Maids he can start contributing financially to their budding union.

And does it remind anyone else of that JLo/Casper mess? Hiring the boyfriend—i.e. putting him on your payroll—so he can help with the bills? I mean, why not just cut him a check for being around to bone you and then he wouldn’t have to work. He could just be your beck-and-call-boy.

And let’s not ignore the fact that he’s pinging on my Gaydar like a game-show bell ringer.

PR 12 Ep 2: Diamonds Aren't A Girl's Best Friend ... Amirite Kahindo?

We start off this week with armed guards outside Parsons and I instantly think, ‘Design terrorism.’ And I’m hoping they don’t hurt Timothy when they haul him away to the Project Runway version of Guantanamo Bay and torture him with pictures of models in fur and full hair and make-up.

But, alas, it’s just an armored truck filled with $30 million in diamonds, AKA just another day in the life of Heidi Klum.

The challenge: create a glamorous red carpet look that showcases the jewels.

Sounds simple, eh? We’ll see; but first the Dreaded Button Bag™ makes its first appearance of the season and Bradon, who won last week, and has immunity, gets to pick his model. Then the rest pick theirs. They will have just one day for the challenge, and will have their first trip to Mood.

I was hoping for some You stole my girl drama, but there was none; there will be drama to come, though, in the name of Sandro, so we do have that to look forward to.

Let’s rip ….

THE SAFES: left to right, top to bottom
ALEXANDER: It was kinda negligee-ish to me; neither here nor there.
ALEXANDRIA: Kinda meh; boring and, in my mind, too short.
BRADON: Chic and elegant; extra points for having a model who knows how to rock a runway
JEREMY: This was my favorite. It was really nothing new, but it was beautiful, moved well, and showed off the ice. Should’a been Top Three over Sandro.
JUSTIN: Flowy, but way too safe.
KAREN:  Odd color, and looks cheap; she apparently spent just $160 of the suggested $300 budget.
KEN: Marilyn Monroe in The Little Mermaid.
MIRANDA: She loves her some bare midriff; now if she could sew something that doesn’t look so sloppy.
SUE: Looks a little too much like last week’s design; change it up, or be the next Aufee.

THE BOTTOM THREE

HELEN
Helen tells right out of the gate that this is her forte, evening wear and wedding gowns, so we all know how this will end up.

It ends up with Helen trying something—cups … not of coffee, but of breasts—she’s never done before. And when Tim stops by, he tells her she’s being overly ambitious and she says she can do it.

Cue the Ominous Drumming™

She can’t do it; she can barely finish. It looks like her girl was stapled into the dress in the back. In fact, it’s so awful that Helen has a meltdown during the runway show before the dress even walks. They had to stop the show so Tim could bitchslap comfort her, as only Tim can do.

I gave it a one word critique: ‘Awful.’ It looked like brown and beige sheets! On a red carpet! It was shredded and ill-fitting and just sad; like paper bag in the rain sad.

Heidi couldn’t understand why Helen would try to tackle breast cups if she’d never done them before—and this was a one day challenge, at that! She also called it bad and said Helen was trying too hard, which caused Helen to mutter, It’s my forte! which caused Heidi to mutter Really?  The Adorable Zac Posen™ tried to explain to Helen that there are no elves that swoop in at night and Bibbety Bobbety Boo it’s a new dress. He also said she tried to do too much in one day.

Eric Damon, Emmy® Award-winning costume designer, lamented the bad hem, the bad fabric and Helens’ utter lack of time management. Nina said there were so many imperfections that she was going to pen an editorial for Marie Claire about the dress in the September Issue—the largest issue of the year. But, Nina thought the design was interesting, and when Helen began to cry that she would couture until someone pried the sewing needle from her cold dead hand, Nina kinda melted.

Let’s say that again Nina kinda melted.

Helen Up Close: Heidi hated the shredding at the hips, while Nina said Helen’s ambition needs to be celebrated. Heidi asked What happened to Meana Garcia?

Well, apparently she saved Helen from elimination. She’s safe, which I think is her real forte.

TIMOTHY
"We have to pick the prettiest diamond, and I think that's very superficial…I'm not inspired by money."

And yet he tried out for a design show with a prize package of half-a-million bucks; shut it, Timothy.

While at Mood, Timothy continues to demand more airtime by, almost, dumpster diving for bits and scraps of fabrics, and then finds some loose pieces of Blue Velvet and he’s good to go; I think he spent $4.70.

In the workroom, he has decided to Blue Velvet the model’s boobs, causing Tim to shriek, "Where's the design? Right now, this is one big hot mess." So, Timothy rethinks the minus sign breast plate and comes up with the idea of a racer back. On.The.Front.

My critique? Tim was right; it’s still a hot mess.

The judges don’t understand why Timothy would make a high-necked gown to show off a necklace, but Timothy had a story about a jewelry box and a ballerina and, possibly, a unicorn. Heidi loathed it, but was glad the model had make-up—apparently L’Oreal has animal free make-ups, but their hair products are … ALLEGEDLY … made from the skin and bones of children, so Timothy did nothing to his model’s hair.

The Adorable Zac Posen™ noted the use of the scarps of Blue Velvet and said they had come from his design studio, adding snarkily, ‘We chose not to use it.’ But, he likes the velvet, and hates the racer back front. Nina and guest Judge Eric also bemoaned the bassackwardsness of the top.

Timothy Up Close: The Adorable Zac Posen™ said, “The sewing isn’t bad.” And Meana, er, Nina, replied, “Really?” Heidi and Nina both wondered what kind of bra could be worn with a backwards dress, while The Adorable Zac Posen™ tossed in a ‘Who wore it worse?’

Still, Timothy was safe because, well, there was this …

KAHINDO
She was this week’s What Can Go Wrong, Will Go Wrong.

First off, in this one day challenge she picked a silk charmeuse, a fabric she has never used before, and a fabric that, according to other designers and the judges, is very hard to work. Plus she chose a print that Alexander said looked like camouflage only it couldn’t hide the puckers and gaffes Kahindo created.

During his critique, Tim tells her that the silk charmeuse print is kind of hideous, and offers the suggestion of covering it with a sheer green organza fabric to mute the hideousness.

I kind of liked the dress—at first—but it was not a Red Carpet outfit. It was more Discount Shopping At The Rifle Range.

Heidi told her that the dress wasn’t enough; it was simple, and boring, and, quelle horror, off-the-rack.  Eric liked the color on a redheaded model, but said the colors did nothing for the diamonds. The Adorable Zac Posen™ said the print was hard to work with, and called it reminiscent of Sand Art, and called the construction bad. He saw Heidi’s off-the-rack and raised her a Sales Dress. Nina thought it was too nice, though there was no excitement; and we all know that nice don’t get you to The Tents.

Kahindo Up Close: The Adorable Zac Posen™ called it ‘too standard’ and when Tim shows them Kahindo’s original print—now hidden beneath organza—the judges gasp and thank him for saving them from seeing it.

So, it was Kahindo who got the Auf.

THE TOP THREE

SANDRO
Sandro is a lunatic. He shouts incoherently—either because of his accent or because he’s a lunatic—at anyone and everyone. Plus—and, I admit I kinda like this part—he’s the Russian Karen Walker from Will & Grace, in that he cannot be bothered to remember anyone’s name. Last week, Jeremy was ‘Irish Guy’ and this week Alexander becomes ‘Red Hair.’

I may start calling him Not Freddie Mercury.

Sandro yells at Ken in the sewing room though we don’t know why, but, Lucky Justin was able to remove his hearing aid and continue; not so the other designers who muttered things like, Ladies! Please!

And then Sandro gets pissy again later on when he asks the other designers how to use the steamer and they all act like they’ve removed their hearing aids as well. Sandro storms out the door, looking for a ‘manager’ and tugs some unsuspecting PR assistant into the work room that cannot help him either. He shouts Thanks for help as the kid wanders out of camera range.

Crazy. But then, on the runway, as Helen is being torn a new one—later on she says she was literally torn in half—Sandro begins to weep as he comes to her defense. Like I said last week, he’s gonna go Amanda Bynes on someone, and perhaps push a sewing machine out a window, or light someone’s design on fire in Heidi’s driveway.

But I digress. His dress; I thought it looked tacky and a little cigarette girl in a Porn Theater.

Eric thinks there are too many lace details, but Heidi—the self-professed boob-obsessed judge—loved the top; she said Sandro tends to do too much, but that this week it worked. The Adorable Zac Posen™ says it borders on trashy, but he liked the non-traditional red carpet fabric, though, he said not knowing of the drama, that Sandro needed to steam it before showing it. Nina liked that it was short, and also loved the fabric choices.

Sandro Up Close: The Adorable Zac Posen™ said it showed good technique and fit the model perfectly, while Eric said he couldn’t tell if it was stripper or chic.

It was, however, safe.

DOM
She kinda got the non-edit this week, except for a lengthy Tim critique, so I thought she’d go Middle Ground. But she didn’t; and she did listen to Tim when he told her the double slit that she had planned would make the dress look too beachy, and who—besides me—wears emeralds to the beach? But, I guess because Dom was in beach mode, she put a headband on her girl which read Ooh I got sand in my hair!

She also got the helpful edit when she once again showed Sue how to use the sewing machine and Sue once again never said Thanks! So, we get Dom the Nice, and Sue the Ill-Mannered; I’m wondering if that’s a set-up for a later in the season sewing room showdown.

But enough of that, Howsabout the dress? I thought it was pretty, though I didn’t like the print with the jewels and I was not a fan of the asymmetry.

Nina thought it looked very serious—which caused me to wonder what dress Nina was seeing—and then she added that the print made it fun and youthful.  Heidi loved it most of all because it was boob-o-licious and fun and hip, but she hated, hated, the headband. The Adorable Zac Posen™ agreed with that but loved the way the dress moved and how the print worked with the jewelry. Eric called it young and ‘estate chic’ and I thought, What the hell does that mean?

Dom Up Close: Heidi still loves it and Nina likes that Dom took a chance.

To be safe, I’m guessing.

KATE
I will say up front that I don’t like her. I don’t like her saying she has to work harder and do more because the judges expect it. I don’t like that she says she’s not a bitch because, clearly, she’s a bitch.

Rant over.

Maybe not. What the hell was this thing? It looked like a sloppy leftover costume from a Les Miserables battle scene; I swear to Mizrahi I thought I saw Seyfried in this in the movie. But Kate had some cock-a-mamie story about Marie Antoinette stealing away in the night wrapped in sheets and jewels. WTF?

It.Was.A.Costume. Which we could tell because Eric, the costume deigning judge, said so. Still, Heidi loved it; loved the color with the jewels, and loved the corset—which, interestingly enough—was the exact same corset Kate made in her previous season on the challenge to create a dress for Heidi; and she won that challenge. Yeah, Kate totally manipulated that. Bitch.

Eric, in addition to praising Kate’s costume, liked the color with the jewels, while Nina greed, though she noticed some flaws in the dress—like it was the exact same corset … I’ll stop.

The Adorable Zac Posen™ loved the color and, well, loved the asymmetry and the transparency of the corset which was the exact same corset she … I’ll.Stop.

But not before I’ll add that many of the other designers—and yet, not one single judge—said the dress was very reminiscent of Vivienne Westwood. And it was the exact same corset …. STOP!

Kate Up Close: Heidi calls it beautiful, again, while Eric calls it The New World—so, what? She’s Columbus now? The Adorable Zac Posen™ says it has effect; it effectively spoiled my lunch.

But Kate gets the win and I throw a shoe at my TV.

MY TAKE
I would have put Jeremy and Bradon in the Top Three over Sandro and Dom, and been very happy if either one of them had won over Kate who made the same-----

The Go card. I like the idea of them budgeting their own money, and I like that they are given spending guidelines each week. That said, I really want to see one of them spend all their cash and end up creating something out of a Belk purse and some shoes. That would be fun.

Sandro gives divas a bad name; I am so ready for his ‘storm off’.

Sue. For the love of god woman, you’re a designer and you can’t thread a bobbin? I mean, I have no idea what a bobbin is, except for that song where the red red robin comes bob bob bobbin along but I am not on the PR. Learn your business.

Timothy needs to pack his unicorn and go. I mean, wasn’t that him using the electric sewing machine this week? I guess his green POV flies out the window when it doesn’t suit him.

What did YOU think?
