Maybe Kraigen Grooms Can Join Brock Turner's Rape-a-Palooza Tour!

In April 2013 then-sixteen-year-old Kraigen Grooms, AKA Kraigen Simmers, raped a two-year-old girl and had a friend record it and stream it live on the internet and was already making plans to rape a three-year-old boy and film it and post it online.

Investigators believe Grooms made prior arrangements with the “friend” to commit the abuse. Grooms was allowed to babysit this child — though he’d never done that before and had never been left alone with the baby — and sought out the friend to set up a time and place to view and record the rape.

After being caught in March 2014, Grooms was put in a juvenile detention to await trial; in July, Grooms took a plea deal to lesser charges and Judge Randy Degeest gave him a ten year suspended sentence; the original charges would have put Grooms in prison for up to 25 years.

Now, Kraigen Grooms will receive just five years of supervised release though if he breaks parole, and, you know, rapes another baby, he’ll go to prison. Oh, and he will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, so, yeah, there’s that.

Grooms is just another in a growing list of white men, white assholes, who rape drunk women or children and receive little to no punishment. He joins that exclusive club alongside Brock Turner who spent 12 weeks in jail for raping an unconscious woman in an alley and Austin James Wilkerson who received two years in county jail — not prison —f or raping a drunk girl, and David Becker who raped two girls while they slept.

If you don’t think this is white privilege, white male privilege, please understand that comparable crimes by black men land the rapists in jail for up to fifteen years.

And what about the victims? What about this child who may grow up traumatized by what happened to her and know that her rapist is out walking free because a judge decided that rape deserves a suspended sentence and a slap on the wrist?

And the rapists, and future rapists? Well, it means it’s open season on rape if you’re white and you get a good, er, bad, judge, who doesn’t believe rape should be punished.

I’m sick ….

  3. A ten year SUSPENDED sentence? Send him over here; we'll deal with him and the sentence WON'T be suspended!
