America Under Siege: _____'s Attorney General Backs Away From Transgender Americans

Shortly after Hair Furor took office, he began his slew of hate-filled executive orders and one of those, rumor has it, would have rescinded President  Obama's nondiscrimination rule for federal contractors under the auspices of a sweeping new executive order on "religious freedom."

Luckily, _____'s daughter and son-in-law, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, talked the President-for-Now out of that lunacy, but then Jeff Sessions, racist, homophobe, asshat and, well, since he’s a member of the _____ cabinet, liar, Jess Sessions became Attorney General and his first move was to say the Department of Justice will be “backing away” from its defense of federal guidance saying public schools should allow transgender students to use restrooms based on their gender identity.

President Obama had issued the pro-trans guidance last May, prompting a lawsuit from rabidly anti-LGBT Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, and other bigots, haters and homophobes. In August, U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor issues an injunction barring the Obama administration from implementing the guidance, and the DOJ, under Obama, appealed the injunction to the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

And now this new DOJ, under Jeff Sessions withdrew that motion. The oral arguments for the partial stay, originally requested in November 2016, were scheduled to be heard today, but this new brief ended cancelled the meeting and signaled the fact that the _____ administration is taking a giant step backwards in protecting transgender Americans.

Now, even though bigoted, asshatted, narrow-minded, hate-filled, transphobe, homophobe, racist Jeff Sessions’ name does not appear on the brief, the reversal comes just two days after his confirmation; and given that Sessions has a long record of opposing LGBTQ rights and even opposing hate crimes legislation because, in his own words, he doesn’t believe LGBTQ people “face that kind of discrimination” this withdrawal has the stink of that tiny man all over it.

And the idea that LGBTQ Americans don’t face “that kind” of hate, simply means that Sessions hasn’t been reading the paper in the last month or so, or else he would have seen the stabbings, and the beatings and the bashing of LGBTQ Americans since _____ took office, but he’d probably spin the hate into something more palatable for bigots and homophobes.

You know, like the Baby Jeebus said to do it.

Sure, this is a setback, given all the strides we'd made under Obama, but this doesn’t deter anyone; this will strengthen the resistance and it will set us on a course to get our asses to the polls and vote out intolerance and bigotry and hatred and homophobia and stupidity ... from the top on down.

Consider yourselves warned.

  2. Did you see the promise the NFL made to Texas? If they do enact these draconian anti-lgbt rules the NFL will never choose Texas again for the Super Bowl. This threat was enough to cause Governor of Arizona from signing a anti-lgbt law. Texas loves their football, and the hotels, restaurants, and bars loves the influx of cash a Super Bowl brings in. When the Super Bowl was in Arizona it was nearly impossible to rent a hotel room anywhere in the valley, and the rental car companies trucked in cars from other states, the mass transit system was overwhelmed to the point where it looked like Tokyo.

We still have powerful friends in the business world, and like the NFL they are not afraid to use their power to enact change.

  3. I just don't understand the hatred that these people have for those who are not like them...old, white and rich.
