Robert Garcia, California Democrat Congressman trolling Leon
Skum during a hearing by saying that he brought a "dick pic" to show
everyone—before holding up a photograph of the MAGA billionaire:
"I find it ironic of course that our chairman,
Congresswoman [Marjorie Taylor] Greene, is in charge of running this committee.
[In] the last Congress, Chairwoman Greene literally showed a dick pic in our
Oversight Congressional hearing, so I thought I'd bring one as well. Now, this,
of course we know, is President Elon Musk. He's also the world's richest man.
He was the biggest political donor in the last election. He has billions of
dollars in conflicts of interest and we know that he's leading a power grab
also abided by and encouraged by [The Felon] and, of course, the chairwoman,
Congresswoman Greene. But I also want to run through what DOGE actually is
going to do; it's a demolition plan that's going to run through our government:
DOGE is trying to abolish the Department of Education. That means opportunities
[are] denied to kids. It means ripping away opportunities for children with
disabilities who are dependent on this money. You're also halting medical research,
which is also critical which we also have to stop. the idea that we are going
to eliminate or destroy the National Institutes of Health, NIH, is crazy. Let's
talk about the Department of Labor. We're talking about protections for working
people across this country, where people can actually complain about abuses
their companies are making against them and their coworkers. "Workers are
now going to be in danger. Let's also talk about the Consumer Financial
Protection Bureau, another huge issue for us. Think about the scammers and
fraudsters that will be empowered across this country because Elon Musk wants,
essentially, these companies to have more power over consumers and over people
across this country. Look at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
That is actually what's being discussed partly today. Healthcare, we're talking
about being denied to millions of poor people, working class people across this
country. And now of course they're on to their largest target: the US Social Security Administration. We're talking about the destruction of the actual
social safety net in this country. We know that one in five Americans collect
Social Security. Seniors. Disabled people. This entire plan is about hurting
the American social safety net and destroying out institutions. “
Garcia is absolutely right. The Felon and Leon want to
transition us from a democracy into an overt oligarchy, in which the whims of
the rich and corporations are inflicted on the poor with impunity. If we let
this come to pass, future generations will never forgive us.
The time to speak out is now.
Sidenote: Garcia is an out gay man, which again begs the
question about why it’s mostly women and LGBTQ+ members of Congress speaking
out while a majority of the straight white males sit in silence?

"I think they're focused on the wrong 1%" -- Laverne Cox is absolutely right! And thanks for all the other great entries this morning. And I love the anagram Leon Skum, hahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteI think the name suits him, and Laverne nailed it.
DeleteOh the campaign of hatred this administration has escalated against Trans people is shameful. Really.
ReplyDeleteRemember, first hey came for Trans people and we need to do something because we’re next.
XOXO
Sixpence
Truth.
Deletexoxo
Laverne said it succinctly.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Please don't call him Leon - it's an insult to every Leon (including my hubby). "Muskrat" might be better even though it is an insult to muskrats.... but hopefully none of them have internet access so they won't be offended.
How about just RAT.
DeleteOh it's not any Leon it's Elon; Leons, that I know anyway, are good, but Elon's are not.
DeleteThe wrong 1%, we should be focussed on the 1% that are severely under taxed.
ReplyDeleteFair is fair.
DeleteMoran is not the only Republican congressman who's wanting to put the brakes on killing USAID, and there are others who are finding out shutting down the NIH is going to destroy their own states economies. This is what happens when you sell your soul in the Fuck Around stage.
ReplyDeleteWhile I applaud their stance I wish they'd take stances on issues that don't face just their states. We should all work together.
DeleteAll very encouraging statements.
ReplyDeleteWe need to build momentum, a coalition, and then an army.
DeleteSO much to unpack.... Moran speaking up? Puhlease....he's just like the other Republican senators asking because it's hurting HIS farmers. Kinda like Moscow Mitch after yesterday's RFK, Jr confirmation: "This is not good for the people of Kentucky." Well, duh. None of this is good for the people of ANY state. Yet, here we are, they continue to confirm those cabinet positions and support whatever President Muskrat and his Orange Clown want done.
ReplyDeleteIt's not the Felon these congresspersons are afraid of - it's the gun-toting MAGAt base.
So true, all of a sudden they realize the Federal government they supposedly hate provides essential services and more than helps to prop up the fragile economies of their states. Then again they were out to hurt certain groups and states and now they find themselves in the crosshairs from their own ignorance and stupidity.

I agree; the GOPers should do what's best for us all, but I will take a baby step in the march toward removing The Felon from our White House.
DeleteThe trans are a non issue put up by the felon to energize his maga base who appear to be very insecure about their own sexuality, and bury their heads up their asses to defend the 1% who are a very serious issue as Laverne Cox points out. We should all be shocked at New York denying care to people transitioning, once they deny medical care to one group, they can do it to any group. We have to take a stand as Cynthia Nixon has. Colonel Bree Fran is right about drumming trans out of the military. During Ww2 there was concern in some quarters that too many lesbians were serving in the military to which an officer replied if we discharge them who will take their place ?!, they are skilled and do their job. The issue was dropped and not another word was said. Strange how arm chair generals have a thing about gay, lesbian and trans people serving in our military, when many of them have not served one day in the military. How harmful envy and hatred are.

I don't think trans people are a non-issue; he's already removing them from military service, denying them healthcare options, and even erasing them from history as part of the riot at Stonewall. A new plaque there mentions LGBQ people but the T has been removed.
DeleteHe comes for them and then he comes for us.
Hmmm, what is the other 1% government should really be focused on?
ReplyDeleteThe one that gets all the tax breaks???
DeleteHospitals do not exist to judge people, but to treat them, regardless of personal history. It is disgusting that it should ever be otherwise.
ReplyDeleteSo true; their job is to try and heal and care for, not deny services.
DeleteIts a shame there aren't more people like Mr Moran who have common sense and a sense of the common need.
ReplyDeleteWe need more in the GOP to take any kind of stand, and we need ALL Democrats to take every stand.
DeleteI despair, but not nearly as much as you. There will be blood in the streets before too long, I fear.
ReplyDeleteIt might get very ugly before it gets better.

ReplyDeleteAll well said!

DeleteI think Robert Garcia had the mic drop this week! And I read about Bree Fram. What a sorrowful story that was. And they literally gave her hours to vacate her house. And this is how our military is thanked? And this is how they're going to treat people I'll be damned I would end in the service and represent this country. And what they're doing to Veterans and how they're treated Beyond me why anybody would even want to enter the service.
ReplyDeleteHi, Mistress Maddie. Just a little correction that proves your point. The woman who was cruelly evicted from housing is Admiral Linda Fagan, first female Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard. Sphincter Face fired her within hours of his inauguration. The protocol on base housing is 60 days to vacate, but a few days ago, she was forced to vacate and she took only a few items with her. Her staff offered to carefully pack up her house, but she declined. There will be a number of legal fights over this. For one thing, Admiral Fagan holds the lease on the home.
DeleteSue the shiz out of the goverment.
DeleteRobert Garcia was also great later in a CNN interview with Brianna Keiler. She asked Garcia if it was really a good move to refer to Musk with that terminology. Garcia replied, "Well, he IS a dick!" 👏🤣
ReplyDeleteHe gives zero f*cks.
DeleteI'm still reading your posts, I just don't know what to say anymore.
