We had a houseguest here at the casa, a friend from Florida,
and after he left, Carlos set about cleaning the guestroom, doing the linens
and bathrooms and such while I was at work. When I came home he said:
“I think I lost one of the pillowcases because It’s not
there.”
So, I checked the bed thinking it got tangled in the sheets
and was somewhere in there; no luck. I told him I couldn’t find it and didn’t
know where else to look. But a bit later I wondered about the laundry room. I
checked the washer no; I looked in the dryer, no. Then I looked behind
the dryer and there it was, having fallen as he was putting the linens into the
wash. I told him where it was and dug it out from behind the dryer as he came
into the laundry and said:
“I can’t believe I’m such a moron.”
“Well, I can!”
“Hey, you don’t have to agree with me!”
“I wasn’t agreeing, I was disagreeing. You can’t believe
you’re a moron, and I believe you are one.”
“Oh yeah.”
Of course then I explained that I only realized he was a
moron because I, too, have accidentally knocked something behind the dryer and
then tore the house apart looking for it.
I guess we’re just two morons … |
This:
ReplyDelete"When someone uses the word “illegal” I am instantly done with whatever they have to say. I live in America, a nation stolen from Indigenous peoples, built on the backs of slaves, and made prosperous by the sweat and blood of immigrants."
And that post by Patton is just *chef's kiss*.
As for laundry lost BEHIND the washer? Hold my pillowcase.
XOXO
I think the pillowcase tried to kill itself by hurling itself off the dryer.
DeleteI ALWAYS correct people who say "illegal."
xoxo
UK "illegals" are not allowed to work while waiting for their applications to remain are dealt (so far about one claim every 3 years). They have a tiny amount of pocket money and are kept in rubbish hotels. How sensible to allow them to work and pay taxes, something I have always advocated for our visitors from abroad.
ReplyDeleteIt helps move them toward citizenship and that cannot be bad.
DeletePatton Oswalt, that’s an excellent question! Oh, Carlos. I could confused SG like that, too. Gennaro Lillio? I‘m not in the mood.
ReplyDeletePatton Oswalt is a great follow on Bluesky.
DeleteCarlos was quite funny about being a moron, and I, too, know what that feels like.
I think my country roots are showing. I keep going back to the picture of the young man in the lumber store. Nice!
ReplyDeleteTuxedo was a very smart cat. And if you and Carlos are morons, so am I. In my case it was a remote for my television that somehow got lost in the bedding that wasn't found until I'd torn about the bedroom, not found anything, and ordered two universal remotes.
He is a hot little nugget on aisle four!
DeleteTuxedo was a genius.
I think there are a lot of us around that "lose" things until we find them where they don't belong!
Hegseth is the moron.
ReplyDeleteHaven't watched much of anything on ABC for a couple of decades now. That they have bent the knee yet again...I wonder how long it will take for them to realize it won't do them any good in the long run? One false move and The Felon will be calling for them to be shut down, anyway.
ABC ought to be ashamed of themselves. Moran used his own account and perhaps should be punished but not removed from his job.
DeleteThat's like telling our entertainment or sports folks they can't speak, protest, march... about what moves them on their own time----We know what's it's all about----
Delete"a nation stolen from Indigenous peoples, built on the backs of slaves, and made prosperous by the sweat and blood of immigrants" -- the true history of the USA that MAGA wants to suppress.
ReplyDeleteExactly. To actually believe this was a country created and built by white christians ... little c ... is the epitome of stupidity.
DeleteDid you ever notice every time you do the laundry something goes missing? It's usually one of the socks. Or a jock strap.
ReplyDeleteAnd I evidently need to hang out in hardware and lumber stores more frequently!!!
Try as they might these dick heads will never be able to erase history. Good and bad events and people need to be remembered in history, for we're supposed to learn from it. Even years from now after we're gone people will talk about how these idiots almost ruin the country, and had a lack of respect for most of their fellow man kind.
And the Terry Moran thing doesn't Shock Me. I think we're going to start seeing a lot more of this. I just have a feeling the dump is threatening these news networks with everything he's got. The dump got insulted by Moran and now all of a sudden he's gone? This is how it started with the Nazis too.
But a pillow case??? I should have known it threw itself off the back of the dryer!
DeleteThose home improvement stores have the best aisled!
Hegseth will be erased first.
I don't like that ABC chickened out again, but Terry Moran has started again on Substack and won't have to worry about corporate cowards.
You’ve got such a sharp wit wrapped in real-life moments we can all relate to. Then you pivot beautifully into bold truth-telling about justice, history, and identity. Thank you for mixing humor, heart, and hard-hitting truth in one post. I’ll be remembering “The Poop Rule” and quoting it often. Keep the Bobservations coming—pure brilliance
ReplyDeleteDon't make me blush! Thank you.
Delete🤬 One of my sisters-in-law was born in Mexico 74 years ago. She has lived in the US for 63 years. Never undocumented; had a green card and didn't get naturalized while she worked at many financial-industry jobs; didn't get naturalized when she married my brother 45 years ago; didn't get naturalized when she had children forty years ago; didn't get naturalized when her very old mother got naturalized...crazy stubborn! During Trump One, at the pleading of her daughter who feared what might happen, my SIL became naturalized at a proud ceremony where we all cheered people from around the world as new citizens!! Now, in Trump Two, my SIL is for the first time afraid in her chosen country!! She goes out only for groceries or church and is fearful doing those minimal errands. We live in the safest, bluest, small city in Texas. And, even in this 70% Latino community, the US President has made her fearful because he doesn't care if gangs of heavily-armed masked men in cosplay uniforms roam the country rounding up anyone they wish. Are they ICE agents, ICE-adjacent, or paramilitary lunatics? Prez don't know and don't care!! As long as my SIL is as intimidated as others in TRUMP'S COUNTRY, he doesn't care if her intimidation comes from HIS military, HIS deportation forces, or HIS MAGA MILITIA groups!! All that matters is the fear!!
ReplyDeleteI have asked her to keep me informed of where she is when she goes out, but if anything happens I doubt my own white privilege would be of much help to her...after all, who do I think I am? Just an old lifelong Democrat radical socialist leftist troublemaker I guess! Not worth much to this administration!! 🤬
😻 On the other hand: Tuxedo Rocks!! 🤘
It's sad we live in a time, in the 21st goddamned century for crying out loud, that we have to worry about our Latino friends and family and what nay happen to them if they step out in the world.
DeleteThat fat racist rapist grifter sexual predator adulterous lying traitor needs to be removed from office the first chance Blue gets.
the dog's mother
ReplyDelete(Carlos) (Tuxedo always)
xoxo :-)

DeleteAha! That last one. No lazy free-loaders there!
ReplyDeleteTruth.
DeleteWords fail me.
ReplyDeleteI, too, know that feeling.
DeleteBravo to your perspective on immigrants and "illegals" -- I couldn't agree more.
ReplyDeleteTerry Moran was absolutely right in what he tweeted about the evil Stephen Miller. But having said that, I have to add he was stupid to do so as a journalist. Every major news organization has policies about its reporters keeping personal political preferences to themselves and he should have done so. As a former reporter myself I was gobsmacked that he sent that tweet.
I think Terry sent that from his personal account and not an ABC account. and I have no problem with that.
DeleteHad he used an ABC X account, then yeah, I'd think he was out of line.
Either way I don't think he should have lost his job.
Some folks of this administration should pick-up a history book.
ReplyDeleteI love our immigrants. Such rich cultures and people we can learn from. Shout out to our Indigenous people!!
Someone should inform the White House that California was once part of Mexico. Many streets and localities have Mexican or Spanish names.
PS-Found this for you. A home designed in Austin with no windows:
https://voenixrising.com/https:/www.voenixrising.com/136166/
Most of the western United States was part of Mexico.
DeleteI saw that house at Voenix; very nice.
People will remember Hegseth as an example of pure failure. And its a go with Gennaro.
ReplyDeletePete will end up in a gutter somewhere sucking on a bottle of rubbing alcohol and shrieking about the time he was in charge of the military and no one will believe him.
DeleteThat Bluesky post is spot on!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is!
DeleteHow can undocumented immigrants who pay taxes to the IRS be considered undocumented? Countries have a right to determine allowable immigration levels, but if the U.S. actually built a system that was fully staffed, with clear vetting procedures and faster turnaround times for processing of applications, it would cost a FRACTION of what's being spent on border security, ICE raids, etc. Then border security could focus on legitimately preventing war criminals, gangsters et. al from entering the U.S.
ReplyDeleteMany undocumented came here, got work permits and then over-stayed their visa. But they continued to work and pay taxes and do everything right except that one thing and they are being punished.
DeletePunish the bosses!!
The guy in the hardware store is hot, and Lillio is quite attractive too.
ReplyDeleteYour last comment is apt. Bosses employ employ them as cheap labour, without the need to verify they are able to legally work. How can non citizens pay tax to the taxation office if they aren't documented. Governments created this situation and now the people are paying the price.
It's funny the government wants to punish the immigrant but not the employer who hires the immigrant.
DeleteFuck ABC. Something I really will not be able to take: if CBS gives money to orange monkey boy to settle his lawsuit against them. CBS has already released the raw footage of their 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris. They shouldn't have even needed to do that. ABC already established a dangerous precedent by settling with him. If CBS does the same, then fuck CBS and I'll be done with another network. More time to read.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
I agree: fuck ABC and their cowardice.
