They're Everywhere ... Part Sept

These really are the easiest posts to compile, because, well, they’re everywhere …

WASHINGTON DC

During a Senate video call with Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday, GOP Senators Marco Rubio and Steve Daines shared screenshots of the Zoom chat to their social media, despite being told not to do so due to concerns about the Ukrainian president’s safety.

These two fools put the man in danger by revealing his location.

This is what passes for leadership in  this country.

CAST A GODDAMNED VOTE.

CASTA  GODDAMNED BLUE VOTE.

FLORIDA

On Friday, the Walt Disney Company responded to calls for action over the Florida House passing the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill that would limit what classrooms can teach about sexual orientation and gender. Disney representatives sidestepped the bill itself  and instead recommitted itself more broadly to LGBTQ+ rights and then claimed its “inspiring content” is action enough.

Yes, cartoons and Gay Day more than make up for the silencing of the LGBTQ+ community.

AMERICA

The Great Trucker Convoy is making its way to DC to demand an end to all Covid-19 mandates and restrictions.

All those mandates and restrictions should be up by the time the MAGAt Convoy arrives, but go ahead, Red Hats., protest something that’s over while spending upwards of $5.00 or more a gallon for gas on your cross-country road trip to nowhere.

KENTUCKY

During a debate over anti-abortion legislation, GOP Representative Danny Bentley falsely said RU-486, or Mifepristone, a pill taken to induce abortion, was developed during World War II and was called Zyklon B, the gas that killed millions of Jews in the Holocaust. He also claimed that “the person who developed (it) was a Jew” and that Jewish women have a lower incidence of cervical cancer because “they only have one sex partner.”

This is what happens when you let men decide the healthcare choices for women.

WASHINGTON DC

Last week, when the House passed a resolution night to declare support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, only three votes were in opposition, all of them … guess what … from Republicans, Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Paul Gosar of Arizona, and Matt Rosendale of Montana.

The good news is that the resolution passed near-unanimously with a 426-3 vote.

Also of note is that when a House vote came up for the Emmett Till Anti-Lynching Act of 2022, which would designate lynching—extrajudicial killings typically committed against Black Americans, particularly during the Jim Crow era—as a federal hate crime the three Republicans who voted against that bill Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Chip Roy of Texas, and Andrew Clyde of Georgia.

Voted against making lynching a Hate Crime.

Again … CAST A GODDAMNED VOTE.

TEXAS

Republican Chip Roy is back again because he is concerned, y’all! He says innocent people are dying needlessly because a tyrannical government has grossly overstepped its bounds, and freedom and democracy are under attack and … wait for it … it’s all Dr. Anthony Fauci’s fault.

Appearing on Fox News Roy, an anti-vaxxing loon, used his time not to discuss the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but to peddle his conspiracy theory that the government is failing to report deaths caused by the Covid-19 vaccine.

Roy has no numbers to claim, no science to prove his wacknut theory, but he’ll say it because MAGAts will buy it.

Herd Stupidity.

MONTANA

GOP Governor Greg Gianforte—who once assaulted a reporter for asking him a policy question—killed a mountain lion on public land after it had been cornered in a tree for hours by hounds while he made his way from a different site.

What a man; he has dogs chase a gorgeous animal up a tree so he can get in car and drive over and shoot it to prove he’s so macho. Little bitch. I need a mountain lion to drive Gianforte up a tree, or the Montana electorate to drive him out of office.

TEXAS

A few weeks back, in this very space, we talked about GOP Texas QAnon nutjub Bianca Gracia announcing to the world that God had told her she would win her election, and if Texans failed to elect her they were "going to have to deal with it with the Lord."

Cut to last week and Gracia received 7.5% of the votes.

Even God took a look at her and went, ‘Nah.’

Get educated and save yourselves from The Stupids.

Random Musings

A thought on the murder—because it was murder—of Philando Castile by Police Officer Jeronimo Yanez.

Castile was doing everything right; offering his insurance proof, and then, when asked for license and registration, he calmly told the officer he had a firearm he was allowed to carry. Then when Castile reached for his wallet, Officer Yanez says he thought Castile was reaching for the gun and fired seven times at close range, with two bullets hitting Castile in the heart.

Here’s my thought: it was all going so calm and smooth; Castile was pulled over for a broken taillight. He was relaxed and calm and doing what the officer said but ...

What if, when Castile told the Yanez he had a gun, if Yanez hadn’t simply said—because there was no altercation, no raised voices, no hint of violence—“put your hands on the door and exit the vehicle.”

Then Yanez could have patted Castile down and removed the weapon—which Castile was allowed to carry—and the process could have gone on, a ticket issued and, thankfully, no one murdered because they were stopped for a broken taillight.

That’s all.
Either Newt Gingrich is a total moron, or he has such chutzpah, but ...

Since ______ has been blasting reports that he is under investigation for possible obstruction of justice, former House Speaker and serial adulterer, Newt Gingrich said the charges won’t stick because:
“Technically, the president of the United States cannot obstruct justice. The president of the United States is the chief executive officer of the United States. If he wants to fire the FBI director, all he has to do is fire him.”
Funny, cuz back in 1998 obstruction of justice was part of the impeachment proceedings that Hypocrite Gingrich led against former President Bill Clinton.

Asshat.
Last week, watching The Graham Norton Show, one of his guests was Anthony Joshua, World Heavyweight Boxing Champion. He is built like a brick sh ... he’s built. But he was also sweet and funny and hot.

Put it all together and he’s this week’s Hot Man Built Like A Brick Sh ...

He’s Hot.
A friend posted this to Facebook about the shooting at the ball field last week, and about Congressman Steve Scalise; he didn't write it and I wish I know who did because it just drips with irony:
"So let's get this straight. A rabidly anti-gay and white-supremacist congressman who recently voted to let mentally ill people have access to guns and who wants to repeal the Affordable Care Act had his life saved by a black lesbian married to a same-sex partner when he was shot by a mentally ill person and is currently under hospital care that is being paid for by government-funded health insurance. Sorry, there is way too much irony here to interrupt it with punctuation. Oh, and Capitol Police officer David Bailey is an immigrant who put his life on the line without hesitation to save all of those Republican Congressmen."
Snap.
You know, I was all Team Caitlyn during her transition. I spoke up when people said moronic things about “him” both in life and online but ...

While I am still Team Trans, Caitlyn Jenner, since coming out as a transgender female, needs to stop talking. In the wake of the shooting of Steve Scalise last week, Caitlyn said:
“Nobody deserves what happened out there. There’s no justification. There are crazy people. We have to minimize that type of stuff.  ... Fortunately the guy was a really bad shot. Liberals can’t even shoot straight.”
Funny, right? Making a joke about a shooting. So, I Tweeted to Caitlyn:
You know, one other thing that Liberals can’t, and won’t do? Make jokes about gun violence.”
It’s past time for Caitlyn Jenner to sit down. Especially when you learn that Caitlyn also praised Officer Crystal Griner, the lesbian Capital Police Officer who was injured while taking down the shooter, and for not thinking about LGBT issues at the time”
“She did her job. She wasn’t thinking about LGBT issues, she wasn’t thinking about any of those types of things. She did her job and she did it well.”
WTF Caitlyn. Gay folks have been doing their jobs, without stopping to think about LGBT issues for our entire lives, but go ahead and diminish that; make us out to be self-involved and shallow and stupid ...

But that’s just you.
Republicans are complicit ...

For the tenth time in the last several months, this Republicans once again blocked a Democratic to request _____’s tax returns. The measure failed along party lines because, for right now, the GOP loves _____ and will goose-step along with his lies until ...
2018. When We The People vote them out.

Resist.
Speaking of asshat Republicans, this week, out there in Montana, Greg Gianforte—the candidate who choked a reporter for asking a question—was sworn into Congress.

And because, you know, no hard feelings, the Montana Democratic Party sent Gianforte a gift:
“Everyone knows you need plenty of suits to work on Capitol Hill. While millionaire Gianforte can certainly afford his own, we know he has a lot of legal fees to pay. So, we thought we’d help him out and get him started by mailing a new suit to his office in the Longworth House Office Building in Washington. An orange jumpsuit, that is.”
Because Gianforte should be in prison for assault, but in Montana they send you to Congress.
So, _____’s planned visit to the United Kingdom has been cancelled for the foreseeable future and it was the Queen who broke the news.

Leave it to a Queen to ban _____., but, what really happened is that ______ didn’t want to face the huge protests against him and so he is gonna stay home where ... what ... people like him?

Seriously, if he wanted to avoid places where people protest against him ... um, the Moon?
So, I’m’a just lay this out there and let y’all decide if it seems fishy ...

Remember back, last summer, when Liar, er, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan finally endorsed _____ for the Republican nomination? Ryan had been a holdout for many months, questioning whether _____ really was the right man to lead the GOP in the 2016 election, but in June something changed and suddenly Ryan was all _____.

Wha’ happened? Perhaps this ...

Earlier this week Scott Dworkin, the Co-Founder of the The Democratic Coalition Against Trump, revealed some rather interesting documents.

On August 29th, shortly after Ryan publicly endorsed _____, two of _____’s biggest campaign donors, Miriam and Sheldon Adelson, gave ... wait for it ... $20 million to Paul Ryan’s super PAC, Congressional Leadership Fund.

Those two donations represent about 40% of all the donations received by the Congressional Leadership Fund for all of 2016.

Fishy?

Random Musings

After the attack in Manchester this week, our President-For-Now came out strong against ISIS ...

He called them “losers.”

Yes, nothing strike fear into the hearts of an international terror organization, that has just murdered children, faster than having a bloated bullying billionaire call them “losers.”

Stunted narcissistic asshat.

PS You promised to get rid of ISIS in your first thirty days ... you’re one hundred days behind schedule.
UPDATE: Richard Henry Patterson, the Florida man who claimed his girlfriend choked to death during oral sex, was found not guilty this week of second-degree murder.

At least now I know that, if Carlos were to, ahem, suffer the same fate, I'd get off ....... again.

I’m a horrible person.
Hot Men Duo ... Daddy and Son ...

Tony Goldwyn, who played President Grant on Scandal, until this last season when his two terms in office ended. Goldwyn was always handsome, but every so office you’d see him with his shirt off and suddenly it was, Oh, Mister President!

And Dylan Minette, who played President Grant’s son, Jerry, until he was murdered a few years ago. He’s got a show about teen suicide—Thirteen Reasons Why—and, well, he’s just so darn pretty ... even if he is young enough to be the president’s son, and my son, too.

Just sayin’.
As Secretary of State Hillary Clinton logged nearly a million miles in travel around the globe and never once complained.

Not so with President-For-Now _____, who, in his first foray overseas, in his first few days, cancelled an event because he was tired.

Yes, the man who called Jeb Bush “low energy” and said Clinton didn’t have the “stamina” for the job, had to take a time out and a nap because traveling is hard.

Asshat.
The Resistance—and the Democrats—just scored their first win of 2017.

And it might just be the beginning of the end for _____ when Edie DesMarais, a Democrat, won a State Representative seat in deep-red Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.

Donald _____ won that district by a wide margin in November and here, just a few months later, the people said, Oh hell no and elected a Democrat.

Keep Resisting!
So, at work, we have one computer that most of us use from time-to-time because of its proximity to the front of the office. One co-worker, however, uses it to monitor his Facebook page, and then leaves Facebook open under his account.

Big mistake. Huge. One day, a co-worker and I were looking for information on a new business opening in Smallville, and, as we were at the front, used that computer. She was on her phone searching while I Googled some information on the computer. I found a link to the Facebook page of the business and clicked on it; it opened right up and I thought nothing about it.

I told my co-worker that I had found what we were looking for and she stood next to me and read from the page.

Then she says, “Are you reading this?”

Down on the right, was a private message from our co-worker who keeps Facebook open under his account, where he was speaking to his girlfriend who lives in Pennsylvania and this is the first thing I read:
“Cum on my face and tits.”
Yes, our co-worker was having a sexting private message chat on his Facebook page at his home while it streamed live on our computer at work.

I looked at my co-worker as our friend typed, “I’m finished,” and I said, “Should I join in and say ‘Well, I’m not finished yet?’”

Just a note to people to close out your Facebook page when you leave the office lest you want a slew of co-workers to know your sticky business.
Oops ... _____ and his team thought that all of his Russia problems might go away while he was out of the country but, yeah, not so much.

Now it appears that Attorney General Jeff Sessions failed to disclose meetings with Russian officials, in his security clearance application, Sessions met with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak at least two times last year and failed to note those interactions on the form, which requires him to list “any contact” he or his family had with a “foreign government” or its “representatives” over the past seven years.

Oops. Sessions, the Attorney General lied ... under oath. And now Representative John Conyers, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee has called for an investigation into Sessions.
The dominos are falling ...
So, the CBO score on the new GOPDon’tCare healthcare plan came in and it’s worse than expected ...

Fifty-one million uninsured by 2026 and premiums rising for the poorest among us while billionaires get tax breaks and the military gets more bombs.

And don’t forget, the GOP celebrated the House passage of this mess with a beer party.

This is who voted to take healthcare away from people and gouge the rest of us, while giving themselves more coins in the bank.

Resist.
We’ve all seen the crowds at GOP Town Hall meetings as constituents question their Representatives about Healthcare and Donald _____; these meetings often get very loud, with all kinds of screaming and shouting, but, until now, have remained non-violent.

But, yesterday GOP House candidate Greg Gianforte in Montana’s special election body slammed Ben Jacobs from the Guardian after he was asked about GOP plans for an Obamacare repeal.

And this morning, Election Day, Montana law enforcement has charged  Gianforte with misdemeanor assault, according to Gallatin County Sheriff Brian Gootkin:
“Following multiple interviews and an investigation by the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office it was determined there was probable cause to issue a citation to Greg Gianforte for misdemeanor assault. The nature of the injuries did not meet the statutory elements of felony assault.”
Gianforte faces a maximum sentence of six months in jail, a $500 fine, or both.
The Guardian released an audio recording of the incident during which Gianforte tried to deflect Jacob’s questions about the CBO score of GOPDon’tCare:

Gianforte: “We’ll talk to you about that later.”

Jacobs: “Yeah, but there’s not going to be time. I’m just curious about it right now.”

Gianforte: “I’m sick and tired of you guys. The last guy who came in here you did the same thing. Get the hell out of here!”

Jacobs: “You just body slammed me and broke my glasses.”

Gianforte’s office offered an alternate account of events, saying Jacobs encroached on “a separate interview in a private office” and “aggressively shoved a recorder in Greg’s face” except ... other news agencies, including Fox News, have come forward to not only verify Jacob’s account, but to say the assault was much worse than previously thought.

Fox reporter Alicia Acuna said:
“Gianforte grabbed Jacobs by the neck with both hands and slammed him into the ground behind him. I watched in disbelief as Gianforte then began punching the man, as he moved on top the reporter and began yelling something to the effect of ‘I’m sick and tired of this!'”

I’ve been saying a while now that since _____ began playing up this Fake News Bull Shiz reporters will come for the GOP and now they have; Gianforte ought to quit the campaign, rescind his candidacy, and prepare himself for trial, and hopefully, jail.

I Didn't Say It ...

Colin Farrell, on the passage of marriage equality in Ireland:

“It was really funny because one of the arguments when the vote went through was that the church came out and said, ‘You know, this was a dark day for Ireland,’ and all you could see was literally rainbows everywhere, posters of rainbows, T-shirts of rainbows, men and women hugging, men and men hugging, women and women hugging, and yet cut to, ‘This is a dark day in the history of [Ireland]'...A dark day in the history of a country is internal civil conflict and war and bloodshed…It was a great day.”

As I've said: hot, smart, compassionate, LGBT-ally ... and hot.
Franklin Graham, son of the also anti-gay Billy Graham, on Facebook calling for a Christian boycott of Wells Fargo over the banks’ inclusion of a Lesbian couple in an ad:

“Have you ever asked yourself – how can we fight the tide of moral decay that is being crammed down our throats by big business, the media, and the gay & lesbian community? Every day it is something else! ... Wells Fargo bank is using a same-sex couple in their advertising. And there are more. But it has dawned on me that we don’t have to do business with them. At the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, we are moving our accounts from Wells Fargo to another bank. ...This is one way we as Christians can speak out—we have the power of choice. Let’s just stop doing business with those who promote sin and stand against Almighty God’s laws and His standards. Maybe if enough of us do this, it will get their attention. Share this if you agree.”

Look, I’m all for boycotting businesses that are bigoted and intolerant and exclusive, but I gotta ping on my Hypocrisy Meter because Franklin likes to call LGBT boycotts of homophobic businesses a form of Gay Fascism and bullying. But if you drape your boycott in Christianity, it’s just fine and dandy, as long as the reason you’re boycotting is because of The Gays.
PS: Graham switched to BB&T, a bank that just happens to be the sponsor of this year's Miami Beach Gay pride Parade.
How does that foot in your mouth taste, Franklin?
Greg Gianforte, a Montana multi-millionaire planning a gubernatorial run in 2016, on retirement:

“There’s nothing in the Bible that talks about retirement. And yet it’s been an accepted concept in our culture today. Nowhere does it say, ‘Well, he was a good and faithful servant, so he went to the beach.’ It doesn’t say that anywhere. ... The example I think of is Noah. How old was Noah when he built the ark? 600. He wasn’t like, cashing Social Security checks, he wasn’t hanging out, he was working. So, I think we have an obligation to work. The role we have in work may change over time, but the concept of retirement is not biblical.”

Wait. What? Does this mean I gotta build an ark when I’m 600 years old?
Or does it mean Greg Gianforte is a delusional idiot who should not now, or ever, hold any kind of public office in this country.
Nick Jansen, writing for Canberra's City News, on what they’ll do if marriage equality comes to Australia:

"My wife and I just celebrated our 10-year anniversary. But later this year, we may be getting a divorce. The decision to divorce is not one we’ve taken lightly. And certainly, it’s not one that many will readily understand. And that’s because it’s not a traditional divorce. Our view is that marriage is a fundamental order of creation. Part of God’s human history. Marriage is the union of a man and a woman before a community in the sight of God. And marriage of any couple is important to God regardless of whether that couple recognises [sic] God’s involvement or authority in it."

Well, Nick, I guess you take marriage so lightly, and think so little of your own commitment, that the mere idea that a same-sex couple could share that same pledge sends you to divorce court.

Jansen also says that he and his soon-to-be ex-wife will continue to live together … in sin.
Hmm, I wonder how their God will feel about that?

Hypocrites.
Franklin Graham, in a spectacular word salad, trying to explain his hypocrisy:

"It is true that a local BB&T branch in the Miami area hosted a fundraiser for a program called Legacy Couples, which recognizes same-sex couples who have been in committed relationships for 10 years or more, but the bank did not promote this program through a national advertising campaign (or we would still be looking for another bank). I think there is a difference between being friendly and being a public advocate. By staying at Wells Fargo, we would not only be associating with the promotion of a lifestyle we believe to be wrong, we also would actually be helping to pay for the advertisements by virtue of banking with them — because a bank has no money to advertise with other than the money its customers place in its trust and the interest earned on that money. We simply chose not to continue doing business with a bank that is promoting something that violates our conscience and beliefs."

So, wait, as long as the business doesn’t ruin a national ad, they can support all the gay causes they like and Frank’s okay with that?
Because, I don’t see a huge difference between Well Fargo airing an ad featuring a same-sex couple, and BB&T supporting a Pride event.
It’s support of the LGBT community, and Franklin’s just trying to justify his ignorance and his inability to vet his new bank—and he was hoping for the ‘B’ in BB&T to stand for Bigot—properly, and make sure they were as intolerant and narrow-minded and hate-filled and so not Christ-like as himself.
