Good News: Kassidy Peters Gives Up Job Her Mommy Got For Her

Kassidy Peters, the daughter of South Dakota ReTHUGlican Governor Kristi Noem will relinquish her real estate appraiser license and leave the industry by the end of the year because … too many people are questioning how she got her license.

You see, in early 2020 Kassidy Peters applied for an appraiser license and was denied. Then, in June 2020,Kassidy’s mommy, Kristi Noem, took Kassidy to a private meeting with Sherry Bren, who leads the state’s appraiser certification program, and South Dakota Labor Secretary Marcia Hultman, and lo and behold, suddenly Kassidy was licensed. The following week, Hultman asked for Sherry Bren’s resignation.

Nothing to see here, and though no one knows what transpired at that July 2020 meeting, Kristi Noem swears her goal was only to make the process of obtaining n appraiser’s license more equitable, and added:

“I never once asked for special treatment for Kassidy. She is my daughter and I’m proud of her. I raised her to accomplish things on her own.”

Well, except Kassidy didn’t accomplish it on her own; she accomplished it when mommy had a meeting, and Kristi Noem never once called the process of obtaining an appraiser’s license inequitable until her daughter was denied.

If it smells like a typical lying, cheating, bullying ReTHUGlican helping the self-entitled demon spawn of their loins, then that’s what it is, so, Kassidy, hon, save you righteous indignation for the people who buy your story.

Rational people do not.

Good luck in the job hunt, but keep mommy out of the process this time?

Alabama was one of the hardest hit states during the first go-round of the pandemic, and even harder hit during this latest outbreak, so what does GOP  Governor Kay Ivey do with the COVID-19 relief funds her state received from the federal government?

She signed a new law using those coronavirus virus funds to build new prisons in the state.

No, not for more room in hospitals, which are overflowing with COVID patients as well as others; not for relief for people who may lose their home due to unemployment during the pandemic; not for vaccines, vaccine education, equipment for those on the front lines.

Prisons; because prisons make money for Alabama

Kay Ivey cares more about for-profit prisons that people in her own state getting sick and dying of COVID because she’s a Republican who puts coins before people.

 

Early in 2020, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem’s daughter, Kassidy Peters, had applied with the state for an appraiser’s license and was denied. In July 2020, Noem summoned to her office the state employee who ran the agency, the woman’s direct supervisor and the state labor secretary.

Oh, and for some inexplicable reason, Kassidy Peters was also there.

And four months later Kassidy Peters obtained her certification. The following week, the labor secretary called the agency head, Sherry Bren, who initially denied Kassidy Peter’s application, and demanded her retirement, according to an age discrimination complaint Bren filed against the department.

No one knows what transpired at that July 2020 meeting in the governor’s office. Kristi Noem has only said she was trying to make the process more equitable, and added:

“I never once asked for special treatment for Kassidy. She is my daughter and I’m proud of her. I raised her to accomplish things on her own.”

Funny, though, that her desire for equality in that department only happened after her daughter was denied a licenses. Also funny, is that her daughter didn’t get the license until after mama stepped in and the department head was pushed out.

I am battling a head cold, and, to be fair, the head cold is beating the crap out of me, so I just have simple stuff today.

A Handbag Designer Sat In For The President At The G20 ... Or Grifters Go To Germany

As I noted on Twitter, it must have been International Take Your Handbag Designer To Work Day, because house else can anyone, any-effing-one, explain that Ivanka ‘Complicit’ _____, the president’s daughter, an unelected official, a political moron took her Daddy’s place amongst other world leaders at the G20 summit in Hamburg this past weekend.

Seriously. Does anyone have a good reason why she’s there, other than Daddy wants to bang her?

It all broke when Svetlana Lukash, a G20 Russian civil servant, posted a now-deleted photo of Ivanka _____ sitting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, alongside British Prime Minister Theresa May and Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a working session titled “Partnership with Africa, Migration and Health.”

And, as we all now, nothing ever dies on the internet, so even though the photo was removed it’s still there, and still sparking criticism of a president who cannot seem to keep his unqualified family out of the business of running this country. I mean, what does a woman who slaps her name on handbags, shoes, perfumes, designed by other people ... in China yet ... know about politics? She’s a businesswoman, well, she’s a businessman’s daughter.

And this is the same Ivanka _____ who, just a month ago, said she tries “to stay out of politics” and yet there she is, with world leaders because Daddy wanted to attend another meeting, something along the lines of International Naptime, or My Favorite Program Is On.

And let’s just say that at any meeting of world leaders, that the president needs to leave, he or she is typically replaced by a member of their cabinet, and usually someone who knows something other than shoes and scents.

But I bet not one of them had their daughters take their places, amirite?

Ivanka is no more competent than her father, and every American, even you fools that voted for this fool, should be ashamed, that Daddy’s unqualified daughter is discussing anything with world leaders. This level of nepotism screams of hypocrisy; I mean, picture the right if Michelle Obama had taken President Obama’s seat at a meeting; they’d have blown their pinheads sky-high, but when a shoe designer does it ... crickets ... but then, to the GOP, an unelected, unqualified, unprepared New York socialite is the best person to represent America’s international interests.

I mean, if you wanted a truly qualified First daughter at the table, ask Chelsea Clinton, who has a PhD in International relations to sit it, not a girl best known for being Daddy’s favorite wet dream ... for paying Chinese women pennies on the dollar to make her cheap shoes and purses while she complains that she doesn’t have time for a massage. But she has time to sit in for Daddy, and for Daddy to sing her praises at a World Bank session on women’s entrepreneurship:

“I’m very proud of my daughter, Ivanka, always have been, from day one, I had to tell you that, from day one. She’s always been great. A champion. She’s a champion.”

Thankfully he stopped short of mentioning her rockin’ hard bod or what he’d do to her if she wasn’t his daughter.

But he did do one last thing for Ivana ... on Saturday _____ announced that the United States would give $50 million to a new World Bank fund conceived by Ivanka that aims to help women entrepreneurs access capital and other support.

Yup, he’s using the United States to donate money to a charity his daughter is involved with so, you know, nothing to see there.

Unless you think there are millions of other causes that have no connection to that family of grifters to which the US can donate millions.

This Man Wants To Be President: Marco Rubio Used His Power To Get A Real Estate License For A Drug Dealer

Back in the days before he was running for president and still showing up to work, Marco Rubio, as the Republican Majority Whip in the Florida House of Representatives, wrote a letter of recommendation to help a man, a convicted cocaine trafficker, get a real estate license.

Now that doesn’t seem like a big deal, except when you realize that the budget of the Florida Real Estate Commission is, and was at that time, controlled by the Florida legislature, where Rubio wielded considerable influence. The letter, written on Rubio's official, taxpayer funded House stationery read, in part:

"I have known Mr. Cicilia for over 25 years. I recommend him for licensure without reservation."

But, other than believing that Orlando Cicilia was a great friend, and needed this leg up, Marco Rubio failed to mention that Cicilia was also his brother-in-law who had been out of jail just 20 months when Rubio recommended him. He also failed to mention that, at the time, Cicilia was living with Rubio’s parents in their West Miami home. Cicilia was convicted in a 1989 of distributing $15 million worth of cocaine; the money was never found.

That would be a Marco Rubio presidency; using the power of the office to bully others to get his way, and spending a great deal of time helping his friends, like a convicted drug dealer.

At least while he was showing up at the office.

That's Our Nikki: She Has One Of Her Friends Give Her Daughter A State job

Our beloved [?] Guv’nah, the dishonorable Nikki Haley has seen to it that at least one South Carolinian has gotten a job in these tough economic times.

Her 14-year-old daughter is working in the State House gift shop, which is run by the S.C. Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism, a state agency whose director, Duane Parrish, is appointed by Haley.

She appoints a man who hires her children.

That’s our Nikki, working for all of South Carolina, starting first with her friends and family.

Parks, Recreation and Tourism officials have referred all questions by South Carolina newspaper, The State, about the teen’s job, including whether or not it was in the agency’s budget, to the governor’s office, but, not so surprisingly, Nikki Haley isn’t talking about it.

Instead, her office is chastising the newspaper for even asking the question: “The State newspaper ... should be ashamed for printing details of a 14 year old’s life and whereabouts, against the wishes of her parents and the request of the chief of SLED, who is ultimately responsible for her security. We have nothing more to say.”

Foot stomp. Head snap.

But then, because even her own party wondered WTF she was doing, Nikki pulled a Mittsy and did The Step back, giving some of the information requested; although she didn’t speak to The State, she gave her tidbits of uselessness to The Post and Courier of Charleston

Haley’s spokesbot, Rob Godfrey, told the paper that Haley’s daughter usually works 20 to 25 hours a week and is paid $8 an hour, the same as all entry-level workers at the gift shop. He also said the hours of other gift shop workers were not cut to accommodate the daughter’s position.

A Parks, Recreation and Tourism spokesman says that Haley’s daughter is one of seven to 12 workers who clean and stock shelves, and admits that the job was never advertised, calling that standard procedure for seasonal positions.

How do you hire folks unless you advertise the availability of a position? Or, do you just send a list to Nikki and she finds someone she knows to fill the space?

Haley’s office has not responded to questions about nepotism.

State law prohibits public officials from causing the employment of a family member to a position they supervise or manage, but, and here’s the glitch, while Haley does not supervise the gift shop, she does supervises the agency that operates it.

Dick Harpootlian, chairman of the S.C. Democratic Party says the issue isn’t about the daughter it’s about Nikki’s continued lack of judgment and being a complete moron.

Okay, maybe that last bit was just me.

Harpootlian said: “You don’t use your position to get your daughter a job. It’s not about the daughter. It’s about lack of judgment by the governor [and the] appearance of impropriety doesn’t seem to bother the governor.”

Of course not, because she doesn’t believe in accountability. Or transparency.

And yet, in South Carolina—where we are blessed with the nation’s fourth-highest unemployment rate and a governor who boasts of cutting state spending—Nikki’s hiring of her own daughter does raise questions of favoritism.

And, when, during an impromptu press conference last week, Robert Kittle, a WSPA-TV reporter from Spartanburg, asked Haley about her daughter working at the gift shop, and she snapped back, “Y’all are not allowed to talk about my children.”

But Kittle pressed on, asking Haley if the story really wasn’t about nepotism and she snapped, again: “None of that is true,” Nikki whined. “That’s what makes me angry. Not only is this a story about my daughter, it’s a story that is based on false facts and none of that is true. Do not attack my children. Do not even talk about my children.”

Kittle said the issue wasn’t about the daughter but about what Nikki had done.

 “I’m not going to talk about it anymore,” Haley said. “My children are off limits.”

Unless they need a job, apparently, but….
