Why Is It ...

… that a coworker was talking about people’s looks and she announced that she believes everyone has a good side so I told her she was a circle

… that it was only five years ago when people weren’t allowed to get close to me and I miss those days

… that after all these years my boss still doesn’t get me. Last Friday I said to him, “Since it’s the last day of the week do you mind if I take a longer lunch.” He said, “No problem, when will you be back,” and I said, “Sometime next week.”

… that as a white man in South Carolina I am terrified people will think I’m a Republican.

… that some of you come from the “If you stop crying I’ll buy you something” generation  while I come from the “If you don’t stop crying I’ll give you something to cry about” generation. We are not the same

… that people forget that karma can’t do everything; learn to insult people sometimes

… that people don’t realize I am sarchotic … so sarcastic that you can’t tell if I’m joking or psychotic.

… that I giggle when I get an Unknown Caller on my phone; I rarely pick up even when I know the person

… that sometimes you’ll be listening to someone yammer on and on and on and realize that their frontal lobe hasn’t fully marinated yet

… that most days I really don’t feel like crushing it, so I’ll just crinkle it a little

Know The Facts and ...

Here's some more information, more facts, of what's happening in this country and what  we want, what we’re getting, and how do we make our needs heard …

Start small … Every Democrat who votes for Jeffries as Speaker deserves a primary in 2028!

Nearly 35 years since measles was eradicated in America Pennsylvania has confirmed two measles-associated deaths; of note is that neither person had received the measles vaccine. One of the deceased was a newborn who contracted the virus before birth; state health officials classified it as a measles-associated death due to positive postmortem test results.

Pennsylvania has reported more than 420 confirmed measles cases across 30 counties this year. Two doses of the MMR [measles, mumps, and rubella] vaccine offer about 97% protection against the virus so people don’t have to start dying from measles again.

Vote Blue to end this anti-vaxxer bull shit and keep people from dying.

A Minneapolis rally organized by Jake Lang—a former GOP candidate for Senate in Florida and January 6 thug who Cankles pardoned—descended into chaos on August 23 when a counter-protester dressed as Spider-Man appeared to punch Lang in the face.

Lang was holding a sign containing an anti-Black racial slur during the rally outside Minneapolis City Hall which was organized in response to the conviction of Shiloh Hendrix, a white woman who was found guilty of disorderly conduct after directing the same slur at an autistic eight-year-old Black boy at a playground in nearby Rochester.

Racists do stick together. So, Lang and his supporters were at City Hall for only a few minutes before the demonstration devolved into violence and they fled the area but video from the event clearly showed a man dressed as Spider-Man, later identified as William Nicholas Love, striking Lang in the face.

Love was among 11 people arrested and has been charged with assault, while Lang was also arrested and charged with inciting a riot.

Lang, who is filled with hatred for nearly everyone, had previously staged anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim protests in Minneapolis, and tried to burn a Pride flag during an anti-LGBTQ+ demonstration and has long been the subject of violent confrontations with counter-protesters.

So there’s that, but there’s this, too:

The Spider-Man footage has since gone viral online and a GoFundMe  for William Nicholas Love’s legal defense has raised almost $90,000 and counting …

Listen up MAGAts …

No matter what he says it’s still the Gulf of Mexico and always will be.

No matter what he says it’s still the John F Kennedy Memorial Center and always will be.

No matter what he says it’s still Lake Ontario and always will be.

No matter what he says it’s still the Department of Defense and always will be.

And lastly, no matter what he says he is still an adjudicated rapist and convicted felon who is in the Epstein Files.

In Texas Hood County Constable John Shirley took action last week when he disabled and covered up all three county-owned Flock Safety automated license plate readers. The defiant move came after a unanimous decision by the Hood County Commissioners Court to terminate its contract with the tech company amidst rising citizen pushback and contract performance issues.

In a public statement on social media, Constable Shirley shared photos of the covered devices, telling the surveillance company to ‘come get your garbage out of my county’ and asserting that the protection of everyday privacy must come before indiscriminate data collection.

While law enforcement agencies advocate for Flock Cameras as indispensable tools for locating stolen vehicles, missing persons, and suspects, civil liberties advocates argue they facilitate continuous, warrantless government surveillance.

Big Brother is watching … but not in Hood County thanks to Constable John Shirley.

Pay attention…

You cannot hack a mail-in ballot.

You cannot keep a mail-in ballot in line all day.

You cannot tell a mail-in ballot that the machines aren’t working.

That’s why Cankles’ and the Regime are so desperate to stop mail-in voting.

Democrat Alexander Vindman blindsided the GOP after losing his Senate primary to Democratic Socialist Angie Nixon by announcing that he's transferring $250,000 from his war chest to key Democratic races:

“Voters across the country, especially here in Florida, know that nothing is more important than flipping the U.S. Senate. The only way to cut costs for working families, root out corruption in D.C., and finally hold [the Regime] accountable is to deliver a Democratic majority this November. I am proud to invest in Florida and across the country to make sure Democrats win big on Election Day up and down the ballot.”

The money will flow into the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee to boost the campaigns of Senate nominees Charles Booker, Sherrod Brown, Roy Cooper, Abdul El-Sayed, Troy Jackson, Chris Pappas, Mary Peltola, Josh Turek as well as Dan Osborn, who has no formal party affiliation, in Nebraska.

On top of that, Vindman’s defeated campaign has donated an additional $400,000 to the Florida Democratic Party to help win elections across the state, including Angie Nixon's, whom he promised to support.

This is what true patriotism and resistance looks like.

Thank you Alexander Vindman!

Nearly 2 out of every 3 hired farm workers in this country were born in Mexico but if they’re taking “our” jobs where are all the American farm workers? Where are all the MAGAts who complained they were losing jobs to Mexican immigrants?

Gary Indiana has been without power for 2 weeks now.

Gary Indiana’s population of 68,000 is 775 Black.

Gary Indiana has eight data centers draining its power grid.

The president has not uttered one word about Gary Indiana.

Pay attention and vote accordingly.

There is something deeply funny about billionaires convincing a man making $52K a year that the greatest threat to his freedom is another worker who speaks Spanish and makes $14 an hour.

That immigrant didn’t outsource your job.

That immigrant didn’t buy your hospital.

That immigrant didn’t raise your rent.

That immigrant didn’t eliminate your pension.

You are being pickpocketed while somebody points dramatically at the guy standing next to you.

On March 19, 2026, Chinese customs rejected a 22-ton beef shipment from an ArreBeef plant in Argentina after finding it contained Chloramphenicol, a dangerous chemical banned in livestock production since 1995.

And that’s the beef Cankles’ wants Americans eat because he says it will save us money.

And if you don’t think your vote matters, think about this:

Your landlord will vote for the party who will help him raise rents.

Your boss will vote so more money goes into his pocket and not yours.

Anti-abortionists who want to take away a woman’s right to choose will vote.

Evangelical Christians who want to use their faith to govern you will vote.

Your racist uncle, brother, neighbor, co-worker will vote.

So CAST A GODDAMNED VOTE!!!

And on a personal note to the people of South Carolina …

If you’re ever feeling like you don’t believe in yourself or can’t achieve your dreams, remember that Darline Graham became a sitting member of Congress while knowing literally zero about anything, and admitting to that, and thinking that one-seventh of the entire population of the US lives in South Carolina.

We can do better than stupid so do the thing in November.

Bobservations

Last weekend we had a lawn service come out and give the back yard a refresh, trimming trees, cutting branches back, shaping hedges and holly bushes and the popcorn tree. The workers are all Latino so Carlos was walking them around the yard telling them what we wanted done and he didn't know I was there.

At the side yard, under the trees, was our Pet Cemetery and I heard Carlos telling them that the big stones under the trees are cat and dog graves and not to remove those markers. But when he mentioned Tuxedo, whom I buried under the trees and then placed a rectangle paver over him, he told the men not to move the paver because that was the grave site of, as Carlos said, “El gato más espectacular de todos los tiempos” or “the most spectacular cat ever.”

All the times that Carlos poked at me for my love of The Great Tuxedo and now he says this.

I love that man.

This Tale of Tuxedo is from June 2010 and is entitled “Artist’s Model”:

"Years ago, in San Francisco, a friend and I stumbled upon a cool little furniture store in the Mission, where I saw this piece of wrought iron sculpture called "Twisted Kitty."

I bought it instantly.

This morning, finding Tuxedo on the floor, I wondered if, in one of his Nine Lives, he'd been the inspiration."

Tuxedo was a lot of things but he was most definitely bendy!

Sam Neill, star of the original “Jurassic Park,” died Monday at 78. His death came just two months after he announced he was cancer-free following his battle with non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

I had a crush on Sam ever since I saw him in “Dead Calm” with Nicole Kidman. As both a younger man and an older man he was always a most handsome fella.

RIP

Lindsey Graham has barely boarded the Handbasket to Hell and already the South Carolina Sludge™ is eyeing his seat … Nancy Mace, whom the entire state just said “Oh Hell no” to when she ran for governor is lurking around, and so is Nikki “I am the Queen of Flip Flopping” Haley.

Oh, and Cankles wants Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, a native of South Carolina, to run for the seat and at least with him you’d be trading one sold-his-soul-to-the-Devil closeted gay man for a sold-his-soul-to-the-Devil out gay man.

Dear goddess, let’s get Democrat Annie Andrews into that office!

Remember married Kristin Cabot, the woman caught on camera at a Coldplay concert making out with her married boss, on the Jumbotron?

Well, I guess her fifteen minutes of fame wasn’t enough for the boss’ sidepiece and Kristin is now telling anyone who will listen that Coldplay frontman Chris Martin never reached out to check on her.

Oh Kristin, go sit in a corner and think about what you’ve done, and then get a real life.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, if football players dressed like this I might be more interested in watching them, um, “play.”

In a Sunday night Truth Social post, the 80-year-old demented man in the White House claimed that his approval rating was ::: hold for laughter ::: “59 percent” and that “prices [were] coming down along with the lowering of oil and gas.”

Seriously? Could anyone in DC get the straitjacket and haul this doddering old rapist off to the Nut Barn?

Atila Escolano Sanchez is a Spanish male model and musician based in Madrid, and is also an avid trail runner so, if you could catch him Would You Hit It?

Miss Lindsey Is Dead

Well, well, well …♪♫ Ding Dong ♫♪ Lindsey Graham is dead. I saw lots of words about it on Facebook yesterday and kinda put it all together and do what he asked of America in 2016 when he said, on camera:

"Use my words against me."

And so these are some of his words … but first the facts: Miss Lindsey died Saturday night at his Washington home of what his office calls a “brief and sudden illness.” He served four terms, chaired the Judiciary and Budget committees, and spent decades as one of the loudest voices in American foreign policy.

First thing Sunday morning the stories came in … Cankles declared Lindsey a "true American Patriot" while fellow war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu said Lindsey was a beloved friend. But now let’s hear Lindsey Graham in his own words:

In December 2015, Graham called Cankles a "race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot."

In February 2016 he said: "I think he's a kook. I think he's crazy."

Also in 2016 he said: “There’s only one way to make America great again. Tell [him] to go to hell.”

In May he wrote: "If we nominate [him] we will get destroyed... and we will deserve it."

And he refused to vote for him. But then Cankles won the presidency and Lindsey Graham discovered golf and by late 2017 Lindsey was scolding the media for calling the president a “kook.” Not the first time his own words came back at him.

His best friend was John McCain, a man Cankles the Draft Dodging Bone Spur mocked for being captured in Vietnam and kept mocking even after McCain dead. Lindsey Graham wept for McCain on the Senate floor and then kissed the ass of the man who spat on McCain’s grave.

In response to Cankles remarks about McCain, Miss Lindsey said: “I don’t like what he says about John McCain but when we play golf, it’s fun.”

The words he wanted used against came in 2016, when he swore that if a Supreme Court seat opened in an election year, the next president should fill it; in 2018 he repeated the promise and added: "hold the tape." Then, in October 2020, as Judiciary chairman, he rammed Amy Coney Barrett onto the Court eight days before the election.

In November 2020, Georgia's Republican secretary of state said Graham had called him asking about tossing legally cast mail ballots. Graham lied about it and denied it, fought the grand jury subpoena all the way to the Supreme Court, and lost.

On January 6th, with the glass still on the Capitol floors, doors still broken into pieces and insurrectionists’ feces still smeared on the walls, Lindsey Graham announced:

"Count me out. Enough is enough."

He was done with Cankles … but within months he was back at Mar-Illegal.

He cheered the country into war with Iraq and just three weeks ago he was on television promising that if diplomacy failed, Cankles was "going to take the Strait of Hormuz."

Graham infamously and shamelessly and relentlessly defended Cankles during corruption investigations, impeachment proceedings, rape trials, and manner of legal controversies, and was widely known as the biggest brown-noser in Washington.

Now, to be fair Lindsey was, at one time, a fair politician, working with both parties to get things done, and to the very end of his life, he was one of Ukraine's most reliable champions in the Senate. In fact, he died the day after standing beside President Zelensky in Kyiv. He will deserve some praise for that …

Still, during his Senate tenure, South Carolina has routinely ranked among the nation's worst-performing states in education, healthcare, poverty, infant mortality, and overall quality-of-life indicators. Miss Lindsey, long rumored to be a deeply closeted homosexual, was also a staunch opponent of LGBTQ+ rights.

We have Lindsey Graham to thank for that.

But how do you weigh that against a man who saw Cankles for exactly what he was, spoke of him as a bigot and a racist and a kook, watched him denigrate his best friend, even in death, and then spent over a decade bowing and scraping to a racist, fascist, con artist, grifter, thief and sexual predator.

Bless his heart.

Vice Admiral Nancy Lacore May Get The Last Laugh

Vice Admiral Nancy Lacore was in the Navy for thirty-five years, starting in the cockpit and finishing with three stars and command of the entire Navy Reserve of some 59,000 sailors and Marines; she has thirteen hundred flight hours under her belt, and command of the US base in Djibouti, and dozens of medals.

Last August, DUI Hire Pete Hegseth removed her, with no hearing, no charges, no reason on the record; a firing without cause. Lacore lost her job the same afternoon Hegseth fired the intelligence chief whose agency had just concluded that the strikes on Iran set the nuclear program back by months, not the total obliteration the president kept selling . The people closest to that inconvenient truth were swept out en masse. Competence no longer mattered, only loyalty and maintaining the lies put forth by Hegseth and an inept and incompetent regime.

Lacore could have taken the pension and the silence but instead she chose to run for Congress in the South Carolina seat Nancy Mace walked away from to chase the governor's mansion—and lose it. Last week Nancy Lacore won the Democratic nomination in a runoff, outright, and for the first time in forty years her district might be sending a Democrat to DC if she wins in November.

Hegseth once stood in front of a room of generals and told them that if they did not align with his vision and his story, they should do the honorable thing and resign. Lacore refused to resign and forced Hegseth to fire her …

And now Hegseth may spend next year answering to a Congress with her vote in it, her name on the door, inside the building she spent a lifetime defending. He wanted her out of his chain of command but his actions handed her the seat above it.

Happy Memorial Decoration Day

I have posted this before but I do think it bears repeating.

This is the story of the first Decoration Day, which would become Memorial Day, that occurred down here in South Carolina, where good, sweet, wonderful things do happen.

Enjoy, and Happy Memorial Decoration Day.

"The First Decoration Day"

by David W. Blight, Yale University

Americans understand that Memorial Day, or "Decoration Day," as my parents called it, has something to do with honoring the nation's war dead. It is also a day devoted to picnics, road races, commencements, and double-headers. But where did it begin, who created it, and why?

As a nation we are at war now, but for most Americans the scale of death and suffering in this seemingly endless wartime belongs to other people far away, or to people in other neighborhoods. Collectively, we are not even allowed to see our war dead today. That was not the case in 1865.

At the end of the Civil War the dead were everywhere, some in half buried coffins and some visible only as unidentified bones strewn on the killing fields of Virginia or Georgia. Americans, north and south, faced an enormous spiritual and logistical challenge of memorialization. The dead were visible by their massive absence. Approximately 620,000 soldiers died in the war. American deaths in all other wars combined through the Korean conflict totaled 606,000. If the same number of Americans per capita had died in Vietnam as died in the Civil War, 4 million names would be on the Vietnam Memorial. The most immediate legacy of the Civil War was its slaughter and how remember it.

War kills people and destroys human creation; but as though mocking war's devastation, flowers inevitably bloom through its ruins. After a long siege, a prolonged bombardment for months from all around the harbor, and numerous fires, the beautiful port city of Charleston, South Carolina, where the war had begun in April, 1861, lay in ruin by the spring of 1865. The city was largely abandoned by white residents by late February. Among the first troops to enter and march up Meeting Street singing liberation songs was the Twenty First U. S. Colored Infantry; their commander accepted the formal surrender of the city.

Thousands of black Charlestonians, most former slaves, remained in the city and conducted a series of commemorations to declare their sense of the meaning of the war. The largest of these events, and unknown until some extraordinary luck in my recent research, took place on May 1, 1865. During the final year of the war, the Confederates had converted the planters' horse track, the Washington Race Course and Jockey Club, into an outdoor prison. Union soldiers were kept in horrible conditions in the interior of the track; at least 257 died of exposure and disease and were hastily buried in a mass grave behind the grandstand. Some twenty-eight black workmen went to the site, re-buried the Union dead properly, and built a high fence around the cemetery. They whitewashed the fence and built an archway over an entrance on which they inscribed the words, "Martyrs of the Race Course."

Then, black Charlestonians in cooperation with white missionaries and teachers, staged an unforgettable parade of 10,000 people on the slaveholders' race course. The symbolic power of the low-country planter aristocracy's horse track (where they had displayed their wealth, leisure, and influence) was not lost on the freedpeople. A New York Tribune correspondent witnessed the event, describing "a procession of friends and mourners as South Carolina and the United States never saw before."

At 9 am on May 1, the procession stepped off led by three thousand black schoolchildren carrying arm loads of roses and singing "John Brown's Body." The children were followed by several hundred black women with baskets of flowers, wreaths and crosses. Then came black men marching in cadence, followed by contingents of Union infantry and other black and white citizens. As many as possible gathering in the cemetery enclosure; a childrens' choir sang "We'll Rally around the Flag," the "Star-Spangled Banner," and several spirituals before several black ministers read from scripture. No record survives of which biblical passages rung out in the warm spring air, but the spirit of Leviticus 25 was surely present at those burial rites: "for it is the jubilee; it shall be holy unto you… in the year of this jubilee he shall return every man unto his own possession."

Following the solemn dedication the crowd dispersed into the infield and did what many of us do on Memorial Day: they enjoyed picnics, listened to speeches, and watched soldiers drill. Among the full brigade of Union infantry participating was the famous 54th Massachusetts and the 34th and 104th U.S. Colored Troops, who performed a special double-columned march around the gravesite. The war was over, and Decoration Day had been founded by African Americans in a ritual of remembrance and consecration. The war, they had boldly announced, had been all about the triumph of their emancipation over a slaveholders' republic, and not about state rights, defense of home, nor merely soldiers' valor and sacrifice.

According to a reminiscence written long after the fact, "several slight disturbances" occurred during the ceremonies on this first Decoration Day, as well as "much harsh talk about the event locally afterward." But a measure of how white Charlestonians suppressed from memory this founding in favor of their own creation of the practice later came fifty-one years afterward, when the president of the Ladies Memorial Association of Charleston received an inquiry about the May 1, 1865 parade. A United Daughters of the Confederacy official from New Orleans wanted to know if it was true that blacks had engaged in such a burial rite. Mrs. S. C. Beckwith responded tersely: "I regret that I was unable to gather any official information in answer to this." In the struggle over memory and meaning in any society, some stories just get lost while others attain mainstream dominance.

Officially, as a national holiday, Memorial Day emerged in 1868 when General John A. Logan, commander-in-chief of the Grand Army of the Republic, the Union veterans organization, called on all former northern soldiers and their communities to conduct ceremonies and decorate graves of their dead comrades. On May 30, 1868, when flowers were plentiful, funereal ceremonies were attended by thousands of people in 183 cemeteries in twenty-seven states. The following year, some 336 cities and towns in thirty-one states, including the South, arranged parades and orations. The observance grew manifold with time. In the South Confederate Memorial Day took shape on three different dates: on April 26 in many deep South states, the anniversary of General Joseph Johnston's final surrender to General William T. Sherman; on May 10 in South and North Carolina, the birthday of Stonewall Jackson; and on June 3 in Virginia, the birthday of Jefferson Davis.

Over time several American towns, north and south, claimed to be the birthplace of Memorial Day. But all of them commemorate cemetery decoration events from 1866. Pride of place as the first large scale ritual of Decoration Day, therefore, goes to African Americans in Charleston. By their labor, their words, their songs, and their solemn parade of flowers and marching feet on their former owners' race course, they created for themselves, and for us, the Independence Day of the Second American Revolution.

The old race track is still there — an oval roadway in Hampton Park in Charleston, named for Wade Hampton, former Confederate general and the white supremacist Redeemer governor of South Carolina after the end of Reconstruction. The lovely park sits adjacent to the Citadel, the military academy of South Carolina, and cadets can be seen jogging on the old track any day of the week. The old gravesite dedicated to the "Martyrs of the Race Course" is gone; those Union dead were reinterred in the 1880s to a national cemetery in Beaufort, South Carolina. Some stories endure, some disappear, some are rediscovered in dusty archives, the pages of old newspapers, and in oral history. All such stories as the First Decoration Day are but prelude to future reckonings. All memory is prelude.

Bobservations

We were doing the grocery shopping and Carlos, who usually stops by customer service to get a Lottery ticket, asked the woman at the counter where they had “chop sticks.” She said she didn’t think they had chopsticks, but maybe he could check the International Foods aisle and he, shocked, asked:

“Why would it be there?”

“As I said, I don’t think we have chopsticks but—”

“No, I need chap sticks … for my lips.”

And there’s the proof that it’s not just me playing Lucy to his Ricky.

On Sunday August 30, 2009, Carlos was working on a presentation on HIV/AIDS for a local high school and just like last week when he helped me  with the laundry, Tuxedo thought he’d help his other Daddy ... by laying on the presentation.

I could be wrong but last night when I ordered a pickup service this is what they sent me. I believe it’s called Uber Cakes.

This week on 60 Minutes Louisiana’s MAGAt governor Jeff Landry tried to claim that because he grew up in a town that had a majority Black population, he has lived the same experiences as Black Louisianans.

The ignorance of that statement is on another level and explains why the people of Louisiana are trying to recall him and have him removed from office.

A tourist who was filmed throwing a large rock at an endangered seal as it swam off the Lahaina shoreline boasted that he didn’t care about the consequences because he’s “rich.”

Police officers were called and obtained a description of the moron and found a 37-year-old adult man-child who matched the description of the suspect. He was detained, identified and advised of his legal rights, though he declined to make a statement and invoked his legal rights to an attorney.

I say put the “rich” fuck in the water and throw rocks at his head.

The South Carolina House of Representatives passed a bill this week to allow ivermectin, AKA horse-paste, to be sold to people without a prescription.

Seriously, it’s not the heat it’s the stupidity.

Once again Cankles snapped at a female reporter who questioned the cost of the Jeffrey Epstein Memorial Ballroom™ and the demented doddering rapist racist became irate and said:

“I doubled the size of it you dumb person!”

Earlier this week he told a female reporter from ABC that she was an idiot, and after leaving an impromptu press conference he pointed into the crowd of reporters and muttered:

“She’s a bitch.”

Here’s the deal journalists, when you let this sexual predator talk to anyone like that and say nothing, you are complicit. I would just like to see one of you stand up for the women he denigrates on a regular basis.

It’s disgusting how y’all just stand there.

I just got done dogging South Carolina and now this comes along.

Apparently the South Carolina State Senate failed to advance the GOP redistricting efforts to carve up the state's existing congressional district map. So, how did that happen?

Five Republicans ,,, yes, you read that right ... voted against the effort despite pressure from Cankles who was urging South Carolina to play the racist card like Tennessee and Louisiana. The five Republicans who said 'No' and stood up to the demented bully are Shane Massey, Sean Bennett, Chip Campsen, Tom Davis, and Greg Hembree.

Good on them, though the fight is not quite over. I hope they continue to stand their ground.

Fares Ben M’barka is a model who holds both Tunisian and French nationalities but is based in Paris but other than all I know is he’s a strapping hunk at 6’3” tall. Knowing that, Would You Hit It?

Bobservations

Carlos came to the breakfast table the other morning and said:

“I have made an Executive Decision—”

“You cannot do that.”

“Why?”

“All Executive Decision are made by me, though you have the ability to make an Executive Suggestion and submit it through proper channels.”

“And then what happens?”

“I ignore it and make an Executive Decision.”

He seemed shocked and awed by my logic and I don’t know why, though I did make an Executive Decision not to have this conversation again.

This Tale of Tuxedo comes from March 2009:

A Sunday Tuxedo—clockwise from top let—raises his eyes toward Heaven and prays to the cat gods that there will be fish for dinner. And when he realizes it'll be a dish of dry stuff like every day, he pouts, and then does his best Camille impression. And lastly he poses as Tuxedo of the Jungle....or Bond, Tuxedo Bond.

Camden is growing, though maintaining it's small-town appeal, and one of the bigger projects will be the King Haigler Hotel, a 51-room boutique hotel,  taking over the space where the old opera house and clock tower, built in 1886, stand.

That’s Broad Street up there looking south towards the Opera House and clock tower in 1951.

And here’s a view from Rutledge Street side of the building and the clock tower, also in the 1950s.

And here’s the building with just the tower standing and the hotel construction beginning around it.

I was glad they saved the clock tower and made it the focal point of new construction and cannot wait for the hotel to open.

Take note of the silence of the pro-life folks when their president threatened genocide, to kill innocent, civilian, men, women, and children and destroy an entire civilization.

The cult is real … stupid.

And then here we have a mural downtown that features the Kershaw-Cornwallis House, a Georgian mansion that dominates the grounds of Historic Camden and the Revolutionary War Park. Once the home of local businessman and patriot Joseph Kershaw who arrived in the colonies before 1748 and worked for a merchant in Charleston before moving to this settlement—then called Pine Tree Hill. The proximity to the Great Wagon Road and the Wateree River made for easy distribution of goods traveling between coastal Charleston and the backcountry frontier.

Kershaw established a store called Kershaw and Company and, in time, built flour and grist mills, indigo works, a tobacco warehouse, a distillery, and a brewery. His efforts helped turn the town into a commercial hub and he was instrumental in creating a plan of streets and lots in Pine Hill, which became the village of Camden, now the Oldest Inland City in South Carolina.

I was going through my phone and found that picture of the dear departed MaxGoldberg and Tuxedo napping in “their” chair in the sunroom so peacefully.

And then I found that picture of Max with his crooked mouth—after he’d had a couple of teeth removed—looking quizzically at me. Oh I miss the mug on that cat!

Bobservations

Years back Carlos put a couple of bird feeders on the deck for our feathered visitors but what he didn’t know what that birds drop a lot of bird seed and it falls through the deck and attracts mice who decide they want to see inside the house and they find a way in and set up a little condominium under the dishwasher, feather a nice little newspaper nest and then chew though the tubing bringing water to the dishwasher because they’re thirsty and then we pay a huge bill to fix the dishwasher and the water leak and the mouse house removal.

Now he’s feeding squirrels on the lawn every morning—he calls them “The Neighbors”—and I told him that if we get any more mouse squatters he’ll be joining then under the dishwasher.

This Tuxedo Says is from September 2021 … Tuxedo has zero fucks to give to this anti-women woman who does the bidding of old white men.

One minute I was walking down the street minding my own business and then suddenly I was in a hardware store standing in a line.

I have no idea how I got there.

It shouldn’t be lost on anyone that we never had these claims of massive voter fraud until Cankles lost the 2020 election.

Here’s something to ponder …

I can safely say that most of the time South Carolina disappoints me, but not today …

At the request of Jesse Jackson’s family, and numerous members of the South Carolina General Assembly, the body of the Reverend Jesse Jackson Sr. will lie in state in the South Carolina Statehouse on Monday, March 2, 2026 and flags atop the Statehouse be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset that same day to honor the legacy and memory of Reverend Jackson.

Thank you South Carolina for doing what the GOP in DC refused to do.

Funny how Fox News and the MAGAt Cult stopped talking about the man who breached Mar-Illegal with a shotgun and a gas can as soon they found out he was a lifelong Republican pissed off about the handling of the Epstein scandal.

White Republican man; not a drag queen.

White Republican man; not a democrat.

White Republican man;  not an immigrant.

White Republican man;  not a Muslim.

That’s all.

Jacob Ishak is a Canadian fashion model proving that they can grow ‘em hot up there, eh? So … Would You Hit It?
