Random Musings Overload

So, let me get this queer:
Unemployment is down.
The deficit, too.
And now housing starts increased 15% last month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 872,000 units, which represents the quickest pace since July 2008.
Tell me why, again, anyone in their right mind--key word right mind--would vote Romney?
RADIO HOST: I’m gonna ask something I know a lot of people want to know, or at least I do. What it is like for you to hear the President of the United States call your dad a liar. How do you react to that?
TAGG ROMNEY: Uh, you know, uh, well, jump out of your seat, and you want to rush down there to the debate stage and take a swing at him. But you know you can’t do that, because um, well first because there’s a lot of Secret Service between you and him…
Hmmm, so when someone says something you don't like about your father, you want to physically assault them? I mean, forgetting that he's the President and your sorry ass would be locked up for life. Is that how Mittsy and Queen Ann raised their children? To use violence as a form of expression? That the adult thing to do when someone disses Dad is to 'take a swing' at them?
Lovely parenting skills......Lovely.

Funny Tweet from Bill Maher about the Biden/Ryan debate:

What's a girl to do when, a few years back she was a Teabaggin' darlin' but then lost her election because it became apparent she was all kinds of crazy.
No, silly, not MGB™, but Christine "I'm not a witch" O'Donnell.
What's that little nugget of nuttiness been up to since rational folk stopped paying her any mind?
Well, she and her nephew have recorded a "rap" song in which they attack the President.
Yeah, her career in "music" will be as short-lived and successful as her career in politics.
PS I won't link you to her "video": you wanna see that, you’re on your own.
Hot man:
Gay men often think back to that moment when they relaized they were gay and I am no different. This weekend, while feeling sniffly, i snuggled on the couch watching old movies and I came upon a Lana Turner classic, Imitation of Life.

Now, I saw this on TV eons ago, and, had I been straight, i might have been drawn to Miss Turner. Alas--not really alas--I was a little queerling, so i was more entranced by Lana's fabulous wardrobe and one John Gavin who played Lana's love interest.
One look at him and I knew.......And I still do.

Product placement.....look closely:

British Gas =)
No secret here that I’m an awards show queen. I watch the Red Carpet arrivals and I watch the shows and I watch the morning show recaps and I watch The Fashion police slams and raves.
So, to hear that Amy Poehler and Tina Fey will host Golden Globe awards has me all in a dither.
The GGs are the loosest drunkest awards show ever and this duo will rule that roost.
There was lots to love in the Second Presidential Debate when Obama mopped the floor with Mittsy's binders of women and outright lies, but this exchange is my personal fave:
Mittsy: I think it’s interesting that the president just said something which is on the day after the attack he went in the Rose Garden and said that this was an act of terror.
Barack Obama: That’s what I said.
Mittsy: You said in the Rose Garden the day after the attack it was an act of terror? It was not a spontaneous demonstration? Is that what you’re saying?
Barack Obama: Please proceed governor.
Mittsy: I want to make sure we get that for the record because it took the president 14 days before he called the attack in Benghazi an act of terror.
Barack Obama: Get the transcript.
Moderator Candy Crowley: He did in fact sir, so let me call it an act of terror and —
Barack Obama: Can you say that a little louder Candy?
Suh-nap!
I just adore Anne Hathaway; not merely for the movies she makes, but also for the stands she takes. Like when she decided, as most celebrities do, to sell the photographs of her wedding to one of "those" magazines, like InStyle or People or something.
But, Anne didn't sell the pictures for a profit, she sold the pictures in order to donate to some of her favorite causes, like the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, The Girl Effect  and Freedom to Marry, a non-profit dedicated to ensure that same-sex couples across the country can one day soon enjoy a fairytale wedding like hers.
Way to go, Anne.
Okay, so Fave Mittsy Moment Two, was his assertion that he, while governor, actively sought out women to fill cabinet posts because, he's all pro-women and stuff--unless it comes to their bodies and medical attention and contraception where w all know women need a little help.
Well, it didn't actually happen like that, Mittsy, did it? Nope. He didn't ask anyone to search high and low for strong women. What actually happened was that, prior to the election, a bipartisan group of women in Massachusetts formed MassGAP to address the problem of few women in senior leadership positions in state government.
They did the research and put together the binder full of women qualified for all the different cabinet positions, agency heads, and authorities and commissions and then they gave this binder to Governor Romney when he was elected.
In other words, Romney did not, as he claimed, "make a concerted effort to find qualified women for my administration."  The group came to him with that binder and demanded his attention.
Mittsy.Lies.
Funny Tweet:
Hot Man:
I never caught Primary Colors--ALLEGEDLY the Bill Clinton story when it was in theaters, but I managed to see it over the weekend on TV.
I'm not a fan of Travolta's, so as I was about to turn away, one Adrian Lester appeared onscreen and, well, I was hooked.

I also laughed when Mittsy sent in his lapdog, Paulie "Jersey Shore" Ryan to try and clean up BinderGate. While Paulie says that Romney getting the Fact Check Smack Down on Libya from Candy Crowley on Libya was not Mittsy's weakest moment, he also "clarifies"--Ryan speak for I'm'a lie to y'all right now-- by saying:
"All he meant was that he went out of his way to try and recruit qualified women to serve in his administration when he was governor. And by the way, he has an exceptional record of hiring women in very prominent positions in his administration, and that’s the point he was making."
Um, Paulie, you dumbass. That's not wheat he said, that's how you spin it.
Let's make it queer: he said he had his team scour the countryside looking for qualified women to put in cabinet positions, when, in fact, all he did was sit on his wallet until the women came to him and demanded to be included.
Sit down, Paulie, before you fall down.
By the way, click HERE for the Romney Tax Plan.

Hot Man:
I love Once Upon A Time because I love the whole fairy tale versus real life fairy tale story within a story stuff. i also like that they have some of the most beautiful men on the show,m often wearing leather pants and being all swashbuckley and stuff.

This is Sinqua Walls, who played Lancelot for a couple of weeks. He was :::sPILER ALERT::: killed, but there's always hope that he'll return in a flashback.

Stephen, over at Post Apocalyptic Bohemina sent a Facebook congtaulations to Carlos and me on our 12th anniversary. He sent a picture, and dubbed us, the First Couple of Smallville.
Thanks Stephen!

Remember: She's Us

It seems that Delaware Republican Christine O'Donnell has finally responded to questions about how she pays her bills by posting an amended Senate financial disclosure which shows she has a savings account worth as much as $15,000.
Not great, huh, but still, it's something.
See, because back in July, when Christine O'Donnell was asked exactly how she made her living, her financial disclosure showed just $5,800 in income for the previous 18 months.
And now she suddenly has a savings account worth some $15,000.
O'Donnell has maintained that she was living off savings, but she reported no savings accounts in her original disclosure, and now says she filed the amended disclosure after her attorney realized the error.
Oops, forgot that extra 15K lying around in the bank the first time she was asked how she paid her bills.  And, of course, in her Aw shucks, I'm you line of crap, she said, "It's not a lot of savings, but the reality is that a lot of people are hurting in this economy."
O'Donnell wants us to believe that her personal struggles help her to understand what the rest of us are going through, and says she gave up most of her freelance public relations work during a previous run for Senate in 2008. After that election, she said, the economy had tanked and she struggled to get work.
"I sold everything I own. I'm not kidding," she said. "I sold jewelry. I liquidated all my assets. Now I'm living on my savings."
But O'Donnell hasn't just had a tough time finding work. Her financial past includes a tax lien from the IRS, a lawsuit from the university she attended over unpaid bills and a foreclosure action that she avoided by selling her house to her former campaign attorney before a sheriff's auction.
Hmmm, not so much 'us' anymore, but really just someone who can't, or won't, pay her bills.
And now she has acknowledged using campaign money to pay part of the rent on her current home. Her attorney says "someone' with the Federal Election Commission approved the arrangement, although FEC rules clearly state that candidates can't use campaign money for their mortgage or rent "even if part of the residence is being used by the campaign."
Last month, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington [CREW] declared that O'Donnell is "clearly a criminal" for allegedly using $20,000 of campaign money for personal expenses: "Ms. O'Donnell has spent years embezzling money from her campaign to cover her personal expenses. Republicans and Democrats don't agree on much these days, but both sides should agree on one point: thieves belong in jail not the United States Senate."
Yeah, she's not 'us', she's simply a criminal who lies and cheats and steals to pay her bills. And she is exactly what we don't need in Washington. Not again.

I Didn't Say It.........

Chad Allen, on coming out:
"I have long held the belief that those of us who are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender have been given an extraordinary gift. We are forced to go inside ourselves and determine, once and for all, that we are good. If we have anything at all to give the world, we are going to find it somewhere along that journey."

Nicely put, Chad.
And it's true, for those of you still not out, to know, that you are okay, and you are loved, and you do have a family.
Even if we've never met, we are a family.

Dan Savage, on the White House's posting of an "It Gets Better" message from Brian Bond, Deputy Director of the Office of Public Engagement:
"Fuck you, you pack of co-opting cowards. Seriously. You can do a more than offer hope. You have the power to make it better. Right now. Suspend enforcement of DADT. Don't appeal the decision by a federal judge that declared DADT unconstitutional. Stop defending DOMA in court. Keep your promises. Make it better. And if you're not going to keep your promises or do what you can to make it better, White House, then you could at least have the simple human decency to shut the fuck up.
"State-sanctioned discrimination against LGBT people legitimizes the kind of anti-gay attitudes and beliefs that lead directly to anti-gay bullying at the ballot box and anti-gay bullying in schools. You can do more. Enough with the speeches. Enough with the pretty words—particularly lifted ones. Fuck you."

Dan's anger is contagious, and I think he has a valid point.
Why, when he could be doing so much more, does the Obama Administration want to ride on someone else's coattails.
How about leading for a change?
That would be the example.

American Family Association wingnut Bryan Fischer, on the Tennessee fire department that watched a family's house burn to the ground because they had not paid the annual $75 fire protection fee:
"The fire department did the right and Christian thing. The right thing, by the way, is also the Christian thing, because there can be no difference between the two. The right thing to do will always be the Christian thing to do, and the Christian thing to do will always be the right thing to do. If I somehow think the right thing to do is not the Christian thing to do, then I am either confused about what is right or confused about Christianity, or both. In this case, critics of the fire department are confused both about right and wrong and about Christianity. And it is because they have fallen prey to a weakened, feminized version of Christianity that is only about softer virtues such as compassion and not in any part about the muscular Christian virtues of individual responsibility and accountability."

I had no idea that the "Christian" thing to do was to do nothing.
I thought Christianity was about helping your fellow man, loving your fellow man.
Not standing idly by and watching his house burn to the ground.
If that's Christianity, y'all can have it.
I'll stick with compassion.

Joan Collins, on beauty:
"I have to say, there aren't that many good looking actresses around today. I mean, there's Angelina Jolie and there's... Angelina Jolie. Jennifer Aniston is cute, but I wouldn't call her beautiful. She's no Ava [Gardner] or Lana [Turner]. I think that is why Cheryl Cole is so popular, because she is just so pretty and the public are starved of gorgeous people. When I was young, everybody on screen was gorgeous."

Joan Collins on beauty?
The woman never met  a plastic surgeon she didn't command to nip or tuck her.
She's the last person to be discussing what is beautiful.

Elton John, on LGBTQ bullying:
"People were saying gays should be beaten up, we're not part of God's universe. What kind of mentality is this? When I first came here, it was such a loving country. It's never been in a more horrible place. This is not the America I love. We've come so far, with a black president, it's mystifying that this can still be going on. Jesus Christ taught tolerance. That's the example we should follow. We should forgive, understand, be compassionate. We're not all the same. Thank God! It would be so boring."

This is the Elton John of whom I am a fan.
Simple, honest, straightforward.
But then.......

Elton John [again]. on singing at Rush Limbaugh's wedding:
"We talked a lot before I did it, and I was surprised how much I liked (him). If I had done it just for the money, I could have seen 40 years of my reputation go down the tube. As a gay man, I felt it my duty to find out what this guy thought. I did that before I played there. I felt there was a real reason for me going. I said, 'I suppose you're wondering what the fuck I'm doing here,' and they collapsed in laughter. It took the heat off. I said, 'I'm probably the most famous gay man in the world. I'm coming in peace. Please, let's not say people are horrible because they're different. That's not acceptable in this day and age.' It was a good audience. There's much more of a person in there than the public knows. I believe dialogue is a way forward. Come on, what era are we living in?"

What kind of "dialogue" did you have, Elton? See, because I have yet to see Limbaugh change his views on the LGBT community, DOMA, DADT.
I think the dialogue went like this:
Rush: My third-fourth-fifth wife loves your music and she wants you to sing at our wedding even though I think you're less than.
Elton: I'll do it for a boatload of money.
Rush: Here's the check.
Elton: My soul is worth 4 million bucks!

Christine O'Donnell, on the recent ruling repealing DADT:
"A federal judge recently ruled that we have to overturn Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. There are a couple of things we need to say about that. First of all, judges should not be legislating from the bench. Second of all, it’s up to the military to set the policy that the military believes is in the best interest of unit cohesiveness and military readiness. The military already regulates personal behavior in that it doesn’t allow affairs to go on within your chain of command. It does not allow it you are married to have an adulterous affair within the military. So the military already regulates personal behavior because it feels that it is in the best interest of our military readiness. I don’t think that Congress should be forcing a social agenda on to our military. I think we should leave that to the military."

So, allowing gays to serve in the military would lead to people having sex with their commanders, and people committing adultery.
Oh, Christine, you give us too much power.
You're the witch, dear.
Actually, you're the ill-informed, illiterate wingnut bitch, dear.

Just For Giggles: Christine O'Donnell Is Me

Which means she is a liberal gay man living in South Carolina with his liberal gay male partner. In sin.
Which means she cannot legally marry, and cannot enjoy the benefits and privileges and rights under the Constitution as straight Americans do.
Which means she believes that people can believe whatever they want as long as they don't try to force their opinions on anyone else as a matter of law.
Which means she believes in evolution.
Which means she believes is something, but doesn't call it God because the word god has been co-opted by the Religious Right turned Teabagger Fools as a weapon against anyone who doesn't share their warped ideology.
Which means she knows where she went to college and doesn't make things up.
Oh wait...........
Never mind.
We're nothing alike.
I want what's best for America, Americans, and the world..
She wants what's best for Christine O'Donnell and others exactly like herself.

Oh, Delaware.....Really?

Here are a few, just a few, of the asshatted comments made by dimwitted Christine O'Donnell. I could tackle each one individually, but this women is so ignorantly backwards, and says the most inarticulate, inane things, that if you can't see her for who she is by what she says, then there is no hope for you.
You voted for her, Delaware, but you still have time to send crazy packing.

"It is not enough to be abstinent with other people, you also have to be be abstinent alone. The Bible says that lust in your heart is committing adultery, so you can't masturbate without lust."

"We took the Bible and prayer out of public schools. Now we're having weekly shootings. We had the 60s sexual revolution, and now people are dying of AIDS."

"Drag queen balls celebrate the type of lifestyle which leads to the disease of AIDS."

"You know, these are the kind of cheap, underhanded, unmanly tactics that we've come to expect from Obama's favorite Republican, Mike Castle [..] Mike, this is not a bake-off, get your man-pants on."

"God may choose to heal someone from cancer, yet that person still has a great deal of medical bills. The outstanding bills do not determine whether or not the patient has been healed by God."

"By integrating women into particularly military institutes, it cripples the readiness of our defense. When you have women in that situation it just creates a whole new set of dynamics which are distracting to training the men to kill or be killed."

"A candidate said several years ago, 'I'm not concerned the reason you vote for me as long as you vote for me.'"

"What's next? Orgy rooms? Ménage à trois rooms? Coedness [sic] is like a radical agenda forced on college students."

"America is now a socialist economy. The definition of a socialist economy is when 50% or more your economy is dependent on the federal government."

Out Of The Mouths Of Morons

Oh, Mama Grizzly Bore, you amuse me.

On last night's FauxNews Bill O'Reilly, Mama Grizzly Bore continued to mentor Delaware teabagger Christine O'Donnell, instructing O'Donnell to get her message out through the correct GOP/Tea Party propaganda channels.

Like, oh, I dunno....FauxNews?

Of course.

Mama Grizzly Bore: "She’s going to have to learn very quickly to dismiss what some of her handlers want. Remember what happened to me in the VP. […] So she’s going to have to learn that, yes, very quickly. She’s going to have to dismiss that, go with her gut, get out there, speak to the American people.Speak through FOX News and let the Independents who are tuning in to you, let them know what it is that she stands for, the principles behind her positions."

Um, MGB? May I call you MGB? What happened to you in the VP is the same thin g that will happen to Christine O'Donnell. People will realize she, like you, is too unfit, too uneducated, too uncooperative, too ill-informed, to win an election.

And like you, after she loses, she'll sell herself to the highest bidder as the Speaker Of The GOP, because, in the end, it's less about America, and what's best for all Americans, and it's more about what's best for the Bores and the Idiots.

Musings

Glenn Beck is saying that if there is any violence coming to America it will be coming from the Left. Those nasty liberals. Well, then, Glenn, put down the hankie and wipe your tears long enough to explain to me why it is that we don't see a single sign, such as the one at a recent Teabagger rally that read, "By ballot or by bullet a change is coming" at any liberal rallies or campaign stops? Why is it only conservative teabagging dimwit illiterate fucktards are carrying the threatening messages, and why aren't you asking them to stop?

I think summer is coming to a close here in Smallville. We are way out of the hundreds and treading dangerously close to the mid-80s. Add to that that it was in the 50s last night, and I had to wear socks to bed so my feet didn't get cold. God, I'm a shawl and a rocker away from being my grandmother.

I saw some of the VMA's the other night. I loved the Lohan skit. But what i don't get is why everyone is bashing her for making fun of her situation, or situations. I mean, how come every comic on TV and every moron with a blog--finger pointed directly at moi--can bash, poke fun, call names, and generally ridicule Lindsanity, but she can't?

Cher. Sixty-something. Fabulousness. That's all.

Lady Gaga. Love her. Love the clothes, except for the meat-fit, that was just gross. But, when you wanna outdo wearing a suit of frogs, I guess a suit of beef is the next illogical step.

Christine O'Donnell handily won the Delaware primary. If you don't know her, she believes you can "Cure The Gay" and is against masturbation, and did a slick job of trying to paint her opponent as gay without actually ever saying it. That's the bad news. The good news is, the Republicans don't want to support this wingnut moron, so it looks like the Democrats will win in the general election. Enjoy your fame while you can, Christine, soon you'll be merely a footnote in the Handbook Of Stupid.

As a glutton for punishment, I watched the season opener of the farewell season of Oprah. The things I do for this blog, but......Girlfriend has gotten fatter. It looked like she'd eaten the Keebler elves out of house and tree. And, of course, the season opener was all about Oprah, and a salute to the fanatics who follow her and weep at the sight of her. I wonder what all these women, and some men, will do, once Oprah hangs up her big girl panties.

And don't get me started on Miss John Travolta. Girlfriend is as big as O, but oh so pasty. And, you'd think if he could afford his own airplane he could afford a better rug. The montage of previous Travolta visits to O'ville, were like a parade of bad hair Club For Men ads. The toupees were different in every one. And the skin goes pastier, and the eyebrows go darker, and the forehead goes smoother, every year.

Newt Gingrich called president Obama a Kenyan. Seriously. This dumbfuck thinks pandering to the lowest of the lowest will aid him in a presidential bid? What would have helped him was not fucking around on wives 1 and 2 with wives 2 and 3.

And what about Glenn Beck and Mama Grizzly Bore with their latest attempt to co-opt a date in American history. First was their little, and I do mean little, salute to faith on the anniversary of Martin Luther King's "I Have A Dream" speech. Who bought that it was just a coinkydink that Beck-and-Bore didn't realize what they had done? Okay, maybe some did, but then when they held another rally on 9/11 and again called it a coinkydink? Really? Let me tell you something you former drug addict turned snake oil salesman and you, you ignorant illiterate screw everyone to get ahead political wannabe, there isn't a person in this country who doesn't hear 9/11 or September 11 and not think about that day. So, if the two of you fucktards really didn't think of it, it just plays into my theory that you are both to stupid to be of any consequence.

George Michael was just sentenced to eight weeks in jail for "drug driving." Lindsay Lohan should be thankful she wasn't hijacking cars, kidnapping people, driving recklessly and high on cocaine in the UK.
