Okay, so Brad and Angelina are getting married and a lot of gay folks are all up in arms because, once upon a time, Brad Pitt said they wouldn't marry until all folks--read GAYS--could marry.

Well, that was before they had so many children, who want their mommy and daddy to be married. And I think the needs of their children to have that sense of family supersedes our need to keep Bard and Angie single until we can marry.

They aren't any less LGBT-friendly, or any less Marriage Equality Supportin'.

They're doing this for their kids.

Which is their right.

But it isn't just Ted who's out of a job. He was performing alongside REO Speedwagon and Styx, who, I'm sure, are thrilled to be losing gig after gig because they chose to pair themselves with an asshat.

Up in Minnesota, they hope to not be outdone by the lunacy that is the Tennessee legislature, by blocking a bill that would ban Medicaid for paying for ex-gay reparative therapies.

Yup, in Minnesota, Medicaid covers your visit to a homophobic crackpot.

Marcus Bachmann must be doing his happy dance, in boa and heels no doubt, because he can make more money off Medicaid for being a self-loathing, closeted homosexual who believes in praying away the gay.

Okay, I don't really have anything against Ann Romney, millionaire stay-at-homes-mom.

But, well, she's out  'campaigning' for Mittsy, but at most stops she spends a great deal of time thanking people for their prayers in her fight against MS and breast cancer.

In fact, she discusses her health issues quite a lot and I find it offensive.

First off, rather than talk about your health issues, tell us, please, oh Missus Millionaire, how your husband, if elected :::forgive me for giggling:::: will help the average American battle those same issues without health care?

Huh? Is that crickets I hear?

And another thing, if you're going to 'campaign' for Mittsy, talk about Mittsy. Tell us what he'll do, how he'll do it.

Note: I feel bad for her health issues, but I am sickened by her use of them in campaign speeches. We don't elect presidents because their wives have been stricken with MS or breast cancer, m'kay?

Mitt Romney has been endorsed by both Grampa John "Get offa my lawn" McCain and by our own South Carolina goose-stepping-asshatted governor, Nikki "I wouldn't know the truth if it slapped me in the face" Haley.
That says it all.

An Italian man, going by the name Antonio C in court documents, has filed for divorce from his wife, Rosa C,  after finding love letters from a man with whom Rosa was having an affair.
Apparently Antonio could not forgive Rosa's indiscretion; it happens, you know.
Oh, wait....there's more.
Antonio C is 99 years old, and he and Rosa have been married for seventy-seven years.
And Rosa's affair? It happened in the 1940s.
Now Antonio and Rosa will officially become the world's oldest divorcees. [source]

I saw this on Towleroad, and could not stop laughing. It's from a 2006 Chicago Tribune about Michele Bachmann's sense of style...which, I'm guessing, is the only sense she has. 
But I digress. In the article she talked about what she wears and why, but then right there, just at the end, she tells the reporter that she gets some help in the shopping department:

'Shopping help comes from another quarter, as well. Before Vice President Dick Cheney's visit this past summer, Bachmann's husband, Marcus, hit the stores -- "he's got a good sense of style"--and came home with "a sleek, simple hourglass dress with a yoke collar in winter white." Looks like Missy Marcus has a second career in fashion styling. 


If elected....which is funny....Rick "Frothy Mix" Santorum says he will pass a law annulling every single same-sex marriage in every single state where they've occurred and are legal.
That's his promise.

Over breakfast, the morning after the Iowa Caucuses, I was telling Carlos that Michele Bachmann [Last.Place.Finisher.And.Quitter] had run some new ads where she touted herself as "America's Iron Lady."

Newt Gingrich, on gay being a 'choice':

It is sickening to hear a man openly say that, if elected....and I giggle because he has no chance of that.....he would revert to LGBT discrimination, even when the majority of the country is going the other way.

How anyone can throw their own child out of their home for being gay is beyond me.
Home was always a place of unconditional love for me, and to think that just saying the words "I'm gay" could get you kicked out......

Rick Santorum, on why any gay person would vote for him:

Bishop David Allen Richey, saying he fears gay people more than wars and natural disasters:

"I'm not afraid of the many disasters that are happening simultaneously in our world. I'm not afraid of all the wars that are currently raging on almost every continent on the globe. The potential for nuclear accidents globally doesn't frighten me. What terrifies me are good men and women saying and doing nothing when politicians we voted into office are making moral laws that contradict everything a Holy God stands for. [snip] If someone desires to indulge in bestiality, anal sex, homosexuality or any other perverted sexual act, why does it have to be made a law? More important, why have more than 50 percent of Americans bought into the lie that it has to be legalized?"


I love how these Catholic Bishops are always comparing homosexuality to bestiality and other perverted sexual acts, but generally leave raping children out of the mix.

And marriage will be legalized for all Americans, Bishop, and you'll be stuck on the sidelines whimpering and moaning and living in the past.


Rudy Giuliani, on what the GOP needs to do if they want to regain the White House:

We'd be a much more successful political party if we stuck to our economic, conservative roots. I think it's wrong [gay marriage], but there are other things that I think are wrong that get decided by democratic vote. In one breath you tell the GOP to get out of people's bedrooms, and then you open the door and walk right in with your anti-marriage equality stance.
If the GOP really wants to win an election, then the GOP needs to realize that fear isn't a way to get votes.
Actions speak louder than words.
They ought to shut up and get to work doing all the things they promised last November that they haven't done a thing about since.

President Obama, on the debt ceiling stalemate:

We need more balls of steel from Obama. More calling out people like Cantor and Boehner and McConnell, who would rather see America crumble in order to win an election.
You cannot pay off a debt without taxes, no matter how much you cut a budget.

Marcus Bachmann, claiming that the audio tape in which he calls gays "barbarians" was doctored:

NOM president Brian Brown, whining about people who choose not to follow the law and give up their civil servant jobs:

Karger V Bachmann

Republican presidential candidate Fred Karger does not mince words.

This week he took on the Misses Bachmanns, Michele and Marcus, and the "counseling" clinic she owns and he runs that is ALLEGEDLY offering ex-gay therapy.

Karger: “She’s a liar and now that she’s been busted, she’s trying to divert attention away from her lies. She is just another hypocrite and bigot.”

What incited Karger’s harsh words was the revelation of an undercover video investigation by Truth Wins Out in which they sent in a reporter to act as though he was struggling with his sexuality and needed help to tame his homosexual urges.

TWO’s John Becker spent much of June masquerading as a client seeking a cure for his homosexuality. He received several counseling sessions at Bachmann’s clinic, all directed at helping him end his homosexuality and become the heterosexual he was born as, to paraphrase the counselor. 

The Bachmanns are saying nothing about the video and the investigation, In fact, all Crazy Eyed Hypocrite Michele Bachmann will say is that she's proud of the clinic because it creates jobs.

I guess she'd be proud of the factory that creates crosses to burn on peoples lawns, too. Or the seamstresses who create the white sheets for the KKK. Or the makers of Louisville Sluggers used to bash gay men.

It's all about jobs. I guess.

Ben Cohen, rugby player and straight LGBTQ ally, on New York's gay marriage law:

"It’s nice to be in love with someone, and of course you want to have that extra bond of being married and not perceived to be different. [The idea that] because you’re gay you can’t experience being married is wrong."

It's nice when someone associated with such a masculine sport as rugby, where one might think homophobia rampant, can stand up, and speak up, for the rights of the LGBT community.

Fred Karger, Presidential candidate, on President Obama's marriage stance:

"I am puzzled that a man who is the product of a biracial marriage, whose own parents could not have married in 16 states before 1967, seems unable to understand the extreme pain that bigotry causes... I have never heard of anyone switching sides from pro-gay marriage, as the president used to be, to anti-gay marriage."

While I don't agree with Karger on everything, he is right that Obama used to be for equality, and now he's a little, well, ambiguous.

Cory Monteith, of Glee, has joined the 'Straight But Not Narrow' campaign, an effort to encourage young heterosexual men to show support for their gay peers:

"So, maybe you like to play football, maybe you like to sing and dance, maybe you like both. Maybe you don't like either. Doesn't matter. Just be yourself. Just be you, because that's good enough for me. We're guys talking to guys about guys who like guys."

While the fight for equality is intrinsically a gay fight, it can't ever be won without the support of the heterosexual community, and I love the idea of people like Ben Cohen and Cory Monteith standing up, and speaking up, for gay men and women. and tolerance and understanding and equality.

Linda Harvey, fucktard head of the SPLC-certified hate group Mission America, on Obama and the "homosexual agenda":

"Our President has launched a broad scale attack on traditional values. If homosexuals and transgenders are allowed to live and love as they see fit, we would have a whole societal mess on our hands, which is already starting to happen in some areas.
