I Didn't Say It ...

Barack Obama, my President, speaking at Reverend Jesse Jackson’s funeral last week:

“We are living in a time when it can be hard to hope. Each day we wake up to some new assault on our democratic institutions. Another setback is the idea of the rule of law. An offense to common decency. Every day you wake up to things you just didn’t think were possible. Each day we’re told by those in high office to fear each other, and to turn on each other. And that some Americans count more than others, and that some don’t even count at all! Everywhere we see greed and bigotry being celebrated and bullying and mockery masquerading as strength! We see science and expertise denigrated, while ignorance and dishonesty, and cruelty, and corruption ,are reaping untold rewards! every single day we see that and it’s hard to hope In those moments. So it may be tempting to give to get discouraged, to give in to cynicism. It may be tempting for some to compromise with power, and grab what you can, or even for good people to maybe just put your head down and wait for the storm to pass. But this man, Reverend Jesse Louis Jackson, inspires us to take a harder path. His voice calls on each of us to be heralds of change, to be messengers of hope, to step forward and say, ‘Send me!’ wherever we have a chance to make an impact, whether it’s in our school, or our workplaces, or our neighborhoods, or our cities. Not for fame, not for glory, or because success is guaranteed, but because it gives our life purpose. Because it aligns with what our faith tells us God demands. And because if we don’t step up, no one else will. How fortunate we were that Jesse Jackson answered that call. What a great debt we owe to him. May God bless Reverend Jackson. May he rest in eternal peace. God bless you.”

This is how a president marks the passing of a Civil Rights legend.

Sadly, our current regime failed to even acknowledge the man’s passing, didn’t lower a single flag to half-mast, though they afforded that honor to racist Charlie Kirk.

I cannot help to think it’s because Jackson was a Black man, plain and simple, and our current president is a racist.

Ruben Gallego, Democrat Senator from Arizona, on funding Cankles’ illegal War of Distraction:

“Americans are being told we can’t afford lower drug prices, affordable childcare, or relief at the grocery story, but somehow we can afford a pointless way that costs $1 BILLION every single day. What the fuck happened to America  first?”

A war where schoolchildren are killed by American bombs. Is that America first? While people cannot afford food, or gas, or their energy bills, or their healthcare, but we can afford billions to bomb children?

photo

Melanie Stansbury, New Mexico Democrat Representative, calling for DUI hire Pete Hegseth’s removal from office for his incompetence, cruelty, and illegal actions:

“I wanna just address the elephant in the room. And that is that it is time for Pete Hegseth to go. Now, whether the Secretary of Defense resigns of his own accord or whether he is removed, it is way overdue … because we have seen over the last year, nothing but death, destruction … and the unauthorized, illegal, and reckless use of the United States military to wage unauthorized wars, civilian deaths, and the dismantling of the agency that is meant to safeguard American national security …. So let's lay out the case. Today, it was confirmed by NPR that the US Department of Defense is not investigating if a US Tomahawk led to the death of 165 school children and teachers in Iran, but why? That means that the agency that is intended to secure national security used American munitions to murder 165 children and did not have appropriate safeguards in place to prevent that from happening. Now, how did this happen? What we know is that Pete Hegseth was personally responsible for downscaling the office that is intended to prevent civilian casualties. And so because they were operating with a skeleton crew for whatever reason, the fact that that target was incorrect was never flagged inside the system. And so a US bomb was allowed to be used to kill school children. Now, in addition to that, seven American service members have now died in this war. And it is reported that up to 150 American soldiers have now been injured. And this is a war of choice, a war that has not been authorized by Congress, a war that the president and the secretary of defense cannot even explain to the American people, a war that they do not seem to have an exit strategy for …. In addition to that, Secretary Hegseth has gutted the fundamental legal checks inside of Department of Defense that are designed to make sure that the U.S. military is following the rule of law, not just domestically, but internationally. We know that they have now engaged in three separate military actions that have not been authorized by Congress, including strikes in the Caribbean that have led to the death of over a hundred civilians. [We know that] secretary, Hegseth, misappropriated $93 billion, not million, but billion dollars just a couple of months ago on lobster and king crab and cable TV and furniture for the Department of Defense. These are your taxpayer dollars that he went on an absolute blowout, spending spree at the Department of Defense. While these folks at the administration are telling you that they don't have enough money for American healthcare and food assistance and housing for the American people … Pete Hegseth has $93 billion to waste on furniture and crab and lobster … This is absolutely disgustingly unacceptable. They have issued purges … some of the most distinguished members of our military have been asked to leave their posts. They have erased the history of our proud service members who have served this country generation after generation. And they have misappropriated American taxpayer dollars to fight wars that they told you they would not fight. And so it is time for Pete Hegseth to be gone. It is time for him to go. So whether he resigns or whether it requires congressional action, it is time for Pete Hegseth to go.”

She is absolutely right. Get this insecure alcoholic Christian extremist man-child out of office before more innocent civilians die in illegal wars.

Irene Maria Montero Gil, Spain’s Member of the European Parliament, with a suggestion for Cankles:

“Send your son, [Cankles]. If you want war, send your own people to the front line. We in Spain want our children, our daughters and our loved ones at home, safe. We don’t want war. Those who want war should send their own children.”

Barron, anyone?

photo

Pete Buttigieg, Afghanistan War veteran, former Secretary of Transportation and future President of the United States, takes on Cankles and his “war of choice" against Iran:

“This nation learned the hard way that an unnecessary war, with no plan for what comes next, can lead to years of chaos and put America in still great danger. When you get ready to deploy, you of course are constantly thinking about the worst-case scenario, and the scenario that you pray hard is never going to happen is that your loved ones get the knock on the door. That has now happened to six families that we know of. And the people who serve [are] patriots, they’re ready to go wherever their chain of command tells them they are needed. In exchange for them making that promise, putting their lives on the line, they are supposed to be assured that their commander in chief would never put their lives on the line unless it was absolutely necessary. Unless there was no alternative. Billions of taxpayer dollars are now flowing to the Middle East instead of going toward pressing needs at home. Prices will rise. The debt will grow. The economy will become even less stable, and Washington will be even less capable of facing urgent needs at home.”

Enough is enough. Listen to those who have actually served; read your history books about Vietnam. End the war.

And to be clear, it is a war, a war for oil, and a war for distraction from the fact that the current president is a pedophile.

I Didn't Say It ... But First, An Issue ...

I seem to be unable to reply to comments left on my blog, so rest assured I am reading them but for some reason cannot comment.
I will try to see how to resolve this kerfuffle ASAP.
Thanks
Bob

Zohran Mamdani, Democrat mayor of New York City, on ICE:

“I am in support of abolishing ICE and I’ll tell you why. What we see is an entity that has no interest in fulfilling its stated reason to exist. We’re seeing a government agency that is supposed to be enforcing some kind of immigration law but instead what it’s doing is terrorizing people — no matter their immigration status, no matter the facts of the law, no matter the facts of the case. And I’m tired of waking up every day and seeing a new image of someone being dragged out of a car, dragged out of their home, dragged out of their life. There is a way to care about immigration in this city and in this country with a sense of humanity. What we’re seeing from ICE is not it, and we have not seen that from them in a long, long time.”

ICE  was supposed to removed undocumented immigrant criminals; not children, not citizens, not murder women in the streets.

ICE must go and by voting Blue it can be dismantled from the Kristi Noem ICEstapo.

photo

Billie Eilish, singer, denouncing ICE and the Cankles Regime in a recent speech accepting the 2026 MLK Jr. Beloved Community Environmental Justice Award:

“It’s very strange to be celebrated for working towards environmental justice at a time where it feels less achievable than ever, given the state of our country and the world right now. We're seeing our neighbors being kidnapped, peaceful protesters being assaulted and murdered, our civil rights being stripped, resources to fight the climate crisis being cut for fossil fuels and animal agriculture destroying our planet, and people's access to food and healthcare becoming a privilege for the wealthy instead of a new basic human right for all Americans. It is very clear that protecting our planet and our communities is not a priority for this administration and it's really hard to celebrate that when we no longer feel safe in our homes or in our streets."

It’s not just Venezuela or Minneapolis or Greenland, it’s all of it; the lies, the cheating, the crimes, the pure evil greed.

Let’s start cleaning House and Senate in November.

photo

Ruben Gallego, Democrat Senator from Arizona, on Cankles and Greenland:

“The idea that we’re going to ruin our long-standing alliances and waste billions of dollars to buy Greenland while our own people can’t afford health care or groceries is maybe the dumbest thing a president has done in the history of this country.”

It’s one of the many dumbest things this president has ever done.

photo

Bernice King, MLK’s daughter, on Cankles’ presidency:

“The recent claim by [Cankles] that the 1964 Civil Rights Act harmed white Americans is just wrong and it's dangerous. It rewrites history in a way that fuels fear and resentment. My fathers and so many leaders of the movement, Fred Shuttlesworth, Diane Nass, John Lewis—I can call the role but I won't do it today—did not risk their lives to divide this nation. They did so because America was denying millions basic rights, the right to work, the right to vote, to live where they please, to move through society with dignity. The Civil Rights Act did not give Black people special treatment. It made discrimination illegal. The same discrimination you're trying to turn around. It required the law to protect everyone equally. That is democracy. Sadly, under [Cankles’] America, the law only protects rich white men. We’ve been forced to watch in horror as he rolls back all the progress we’ve made as a nation, stoking the flames of racial hatred and dragging us to the dark ages again.”

This is not America where our elected officials are blatantly KKK racists; they don’t even bother with the hoods any longer.

This cannot stand; this is not the America I learned about—though we know America is not now and never was perfect—and not the America Dr. King dreamed about.

photo

Don Lemon, on has been MAGAt rapper Nicki Minaj after she called him a homophobic slur over his reports on ICE protests in Minneapolis:

“This is clearly out of her depth. She doesn’t understand politics. She doesn’t understand journalism. And I’m not surprised that she is weighing in on something that is beyond her capacity. I think she put the Chucky doll in [her post]. A better symbol that should have been represented in that picture is a ‘Pick Me’ doll because Nicki Minaj is a pick me. She will do anything that is expedient for her politically. And again, she’s ignorant. She doesn’t know what she’s talking about. She’s always weighing in on things that she doesn’t know about. Nicki Minaj should just sit the fuck down.”

Minaj is out for anyone that can solve her husband’s criminality issues which is why she aligned with Erika Grieving Widow Kirk and praise Cankles. She bought into the cult of stupidity and will never find her way out.

I Didn't Say It ...

Zohran Mamdani, the newly elected Democrat mayor of New York City, in his acceptance speech:

“Here we believe in standing up for those we love, whether you are an immigrant, a member of the trans community, one of the many Black women that [Cankles] has fired from a federal job, a single mom still waiting for the cost of groceries to go down, or anyone else with their back against the wall. No more will New York be a city where you can traffic in Islamophobia and win an election. So, if there is any way to terrify a despot, it is by dismantling the very conditions that allowed him to accumulate power. This is not only how we stop [Cankles], it’s how we stop the next one. So, [Cankles] since I know you’re watching, I have four words for you: turn the volume up. New York will remain a city of immigrants, a city built by immigrants, powered by immigrants, and as of tonight, led by an immigrant. So hear me [Cankles] when I say this: to get to any of us, you will have to get through all of us.”

He has his work cut out for him but he ran a fantastic campaign and got younger people out to vote and riled the party into action.

In a world of Schiff’s and Shumer’s et al, be a Mamdani!

photo

Michael Che,  actor, writer, and stand-up comic from SNL’s Weekend Update, speaking out against the GOP attacks on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program [SNAP]:

“This SNAP freeze is really fucked up. And I keep seeing a lotta racist videos celebrating [mostly Black] families not being able to buy groceries … there’s this weird idea that since some people have taken advantage of welfare benefits in the hood, nobody should receive help, at all? This country is built on greedy motherfuckers taking shortcuts and gaming the system to their benefits, but for some reason, when poor people find a way to turn a nickel into a dime, they’re judges more severey, especially Blacks. I know the whole hustle is to hate each other here so we can fight in the comments and up our engagements … but let’s draw thew line at feeding the poor.. I grew up on free cheese and powdered milk and waiting for your friends to leave the store so they [wouldn’t] see me pay with stamps … that shit ain’t as glamorous as it sounds. I promise.”

Bam! The GOP wants y’all to believe that folks on welfare and using SNAP benefits are buying lobster and champagne—though, so what if they are—because the right wants to control and keep down those less fortuante, those in need of assistance, those of color.

Welfare isn’t glamorous but it’s necessary even if some folks abuse the system like, oh I don’t know, those Congressman still collecting a paycheck when they haven’t worked in weeks and weeks … talk about welfare, the House is vacationing on our dime.

photo

JB Pritzker, Democrat governor of Illinois, speaking at the Illinois Federation of Teachers’ convention:

“[Cankles] and his bootlickers have torn down the US Department of Education from the inside. Books are being banned. History is being erased. Republicans want to take billions away from public schools and pump it into private institutions. They want to punish teachers for telling the truth. I’m sorry to be vulgar, but [Cankles] and his cronies can fuck all the way off.”

I truly believe the GOP would like to keep the rich getting rich, and everyone else, poor and uneducated. I mean, how else can they guarantee themselves a win unless they create an electorate that believes their lies?

photo

Ruben Gallego, Arizona Democratic Senator, floating the idea to name the new White House ballroom after former President Barack Obama once Cankles is dead, gone, or in prison:

"I think to really mess with him, just name it the Barack Obama Ballroom, and that will take care of half the problem. This is a distraction. First of all, he should not have done that. This is the People's House. Two, where is the president? He's focusing on the ballroom, he's focusing on everything [else], but he's not focused on what's happening right now: inflation's still high, people can't buy what they need to buy, energy's still high ... This is a Marie Antoinette talking about 'Let them eat cake' while Americans are struggling right now. What I would like him to do is focus on this to make sure we can actually get costs down, people can actually make a good standard of living right now and pay what they need to survive instead of focusing on all these little projects."

I think we should keep calling it The Jeffrey Epstein Ballroom while Cankles is in office, but as soon as we take that house back, perhaps the Barack and Michelle Obama Ballroom for The People?

photo

Billie Eilish, singer, calling out billionaires at the  WSJ Magazine Innovator Awards directly to their faces:

“We're in a time right now where the world is really, really bad and really dark and people need empathy and help more than kind of ever, especially in our country. And I'd say if you have money, it would be great to use it for good things and maybe give it to some people that need it. Love you all, but there's a few people in here that have a lot more money than me and if you're a billionaire, why are you a billionaire? No hate, but yeah, give your money away, shorties.”

Eilish—who has an estimated net worth of $50 million—put her money where her mouth is by donating$11.5 million, or 23% of her wealth, of the proceeds from her Hit Me Hard and Soft tour to support organizations fighting for food equity, climate justice, reducing carbon pollution, and combatting the climate crisis.

On the flip side, in 2015, Mark and Priscilla Zuckerberg pledged to give away 99% of their shares in Meta to philanthropy over their lifetimes, and they've given away more than $7B to date; the Zuckerberg’s net worth is $232.1 billion, so they have given away ).03% of their wealth.

photo

Gio Benitez, ABC correspondent,  on coming out at 24 and healing his inner child:

“You think about all the worries you have growing up. You spend so much time in your head thinking about that. For me, I think it was obviously growing up gay and keeping that a secret. And that was something that I didn’t talk to anyone about really till I was 24 years old. And so I think that you worry, ‘Will that hold me back’? And at the time, the message from society kind of was, ‘yeah it would.’ And there was nobody, I thought, like me at the time on television, so I didn’t have an example to point to. And so this is something of a dream that I always had, but could being myself prevent me from having that dream? And that was a worry that I always had. And so that’s why today I would say chill out. It’s all going to be OK. That person is still inside all of us. We constantly have to talk to that little kid inside because they’re there. They are a part of us. They were there through the most monumental parts of our lives. And they’re still there.”

Talk to that little kid, yes, but talk to real people, too, coming out everywhere you can. It makes the march easier and paves the way for others to follow ….

Ain't That America XV

Another week in America with The Felon sending troops to our cities to fight crime by picking up garbage and spreading mulch ... to a man who lived by hate, dying by hate ... watching the Right scramble to cover their asses when the shooter was revealed to be one of them ... it was just another week of incompetence and protests, bad news and good news, so let's dive in ...

I have no comment on the shooting last week except to say that The Little Johnson wants more security for politicians and racist pundits but not one iota of protection for school children.

Yes, I will start off with a giant FUCK YOU to The Little Johnson.

South Carolina’s own bigot, transphobe, homophobe and liar Nancy Mace—who is running for governor—proves herself to be the most disgusting member of Congress when, after word spread that Charlie Kirk’s shooter was transgender, Tweeted this:

And when it was revealed that the shooter was a MAGAt through and through, she changed her mind to this:

Nancy Mace is the problem.

Just in case you’re keeping track:

South Korea is pulling BILLIONS in investments after the ICEstapo raid on their Georgia Hyundai plant.

Qatar is pulling a $1.5 TRILLION investment in the US after The Felon collaborated with Israel to bomb Palestinian negotiations in Qatar.

Denmark reject US Patriot missiles in favor of French-Italian made Samp-T weapons system, costing the US $9.1 BILLION

China has purchased $0 of US soybeans this year putting farmers across America on the brink of bankruptcy. Last year, China purchased $13.2 BILLION of US soybeans, 54% of ALL soybean exports

The Felon’s 25% tariffs on auto parts and 50% tariffs on steel & aluminum cost Ford $800 MILLION in the second quarter, wiping out all of their profits

The Felon was right about one thing; he is responsible for the greatest economic turnaround in American history only he took us in the wrong direction.

GOP Congressmen Michael Cloud of Texas and Glenn  Thompson of Pennsylvania introduced a joint resolution to designate September 12th as the National Day of the Bible.

Freedom of Religion … when is the National Day of the Quran … the National Day of the Talmud  … the National Day of the Vedas, the Upanishads, and the Bhagavad Gita … the National Day of the Tripitaka … the National Day of the Guru Granth Sahib … the National Day of the Kitáb-i-Aqdas … the National Day of the Agamas … the National Day of the Analects, the Great Learning, the Doctrine of the Mean, and Mencius … the National Day of the Tao Te Ching … the National Day of the Kojiki … the National Day of the Avesta.

Freedom of and from Religion

Hundreds of thousands of a poor Americans are poised to get their disability benefits cut as The Fascist Regime moves to reverse a Biden-era change to Supplemental Security Income [SSI], a federal program that provides monthly payments to impoverished Americans who are unable to work—typically because they’re disabled.

Often they’re older Americans who haven’t earned enough during their lifetime to qualify for any meaningful Social Security benefits, but hey, tax breaks for billionaires!

President Cankles has pledged to remove the makeshift blue tent that has sat directly across from the White House since 1981 and is the nation’s longest continuous peace vigil:

“Take it down. Take it down today, right now.”

A peace vigil … the man who is foaming at the mouth for a Nobel Peace prize wants a peace vigil removed.

It would likely cost billions of dollars to change the names of hundreds of Pentagon agencies, their stationery, emblems, plaques and other signage at the Defense Department, along with bases around the world to the Department of War.

Well, he’s cutting SSI—see above—so maybe he can afford it. People will starve but he gets to be the War President.

Delta Air Lines revised its manuals to use “Gulf of America” for the body of water spanning Florida to Mexico in line with his executive order renaming the marginal sea.

Delta said it was simply complying with Federal Aviation Administration requirements when in fact they are bending to the whims of Cankles.

Georgia GOP Governor Brian Kemp will send members of his state’s National Guard to Washington DC to join thousands of other National Guard members deployed under The Fascist Regime’s plan to reduce crime in the nation’s capital.

They will join thousands of other members of the National Guard from other states to pick up garbage, spread mulch in flower beds and ticker people for not wearing seatbelts.

Crime is rampant.

Prominent MAGAts expressed fury at the Secret Service for a major security failure after protesters heckled President Cankles his face on a visit to an upscale seafood restaurant near the White House. The Felon, along with Couchfucker, DUI Hire Hegseth and Foam Party Boy Marco Rubio, were screamed at by protesters shouting:

“Free D.C! Free Palestine! [Cankles] is the Hitler of our time!”

Resistance.

U.S. District Court Judge Jia Cobb blocked President Cankles from firing Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook as a lawsuit challenging her removal continues, writing:

“The public interest in Federal Reserve independence weighs in favor of Cook’s reinstatement. Cook has made a strong showing that her purported removal was done in violation of the Federal Reserve Act’s ‘for cause’ provision.”

Resistance.

Senator Ruben Gallego, Democrat of Arizona, will seek to block the Pentagon from offering full military funeral honors to insurrectionist criminal Ashli Babbitt. Gallego has criticized the Pentagon for agreeing recently to provide Babbitt with an honorary military funeral and will attempt to pass legislation this week to prevent the honor from being conferred.

It will likely not pass but this is The Resistance at work.

The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan refused to throw out an $83.3 million jury verdict against President Cankles for damaging the reputation of the writer E. Jean Carroll in 2019 when he denied her rape claim.

Sell some more Gold Bibles, asshat.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries chose California Representative Eric Swalwell to lead Democrats on a newly formed subcommittee to reinvestigate … I guess once wasn’t enough … the events surrounding the January 6 Insurrection.

Jeffries also picked Representatives Jasmine Crockett and Jared Moskowitz to sit on the panel, which was initiated by the House GOP as part of a broad effort by Republicans to rewrite the history of the Capitol attack.

It was just tourists, y’all.

Texas Democratic state Representative James Talarico—one of many Texas Democrats who left the state to hold up a Cankles-led plan aimed at netting more GOP-leaning seats—announced his Senate bid last week, a smart move by the rising political star.

If embattled state Attorney General Ken Paxton wins the GOP primary in March, the state could be a ripe target for Democrats next November. Current polls show incumbent Senator John Cornyn trailing Paxton, and Republicans have said that Paxton would be a weak general election candidate.

Sidenote: a favorite quote of mine from Talarico:

“Ken Paxton, like all of us Christians, should spend more time praying than forcing others to pray.”

Snap. Talarico is possibly the most popular state rep on TikTok, where his denouncements of Christian nationalism and anti-LGBTQ activism often get millions of views.

Good. Vote Blue Texas!

The Kennedy Center has been practically empty  since Cankles took over. The Stuttgart Ballet performed in the opera house was roughly 19% occupied and subscription revenues are down 50%.

Everything he touches gets ruined,

And y’all know what to do, take a stand, raise a voice, cast a vote, and march …

The Resistance is gearing up for what may be its biggest mass-demonstration yet against the increasingly militaristic Fascist Regime—which has sent armed troops to occupy the nation’s capital and is threatening to do the same in large cities from Chicago to New Orleans.

After a series of smaller summer protests, the movement will be back in the streets on October 18 for “No Kings 2”—a sequel organizers are expecting to outshine the original, amid revulsion to the mass deportation led by the ICEstapo.

Head over to No Kings for more information and get out there and Resist!

I Didn't Say It ...

David Archuleta, former American Idol contestant and out Mormon singer, on how trans people helped him come out:

“When I was still a shy 16 yr-old teenager living in Utah, entering the public view on American idol it was daunting because I didn’t know if people were going to see parts of me I was working so hard to bury deep down. I was just a scared queer kid that didn’t understand himself but still trying to do my best in a singing competition viewed by millions, to make my family, home state, faith community, and the idol audience proud. There were a lot of reasons I was nervous but one of the biggest was feeling so exposed when I still didn’t understand myself and feared being outed for something I didn’t know whether I was or not as gay or queer … Adore Delano [RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant] was on my same season of idol and just a year older than me. Even though I wasn’t out yet I felt safe with her. Whatever in me that I so despised and was ashamed [of] went away for a bit when I [was] hanging and laughing with her or having talks. She was the first person from the LGBTQIA+ community I ever had an open conversation with about someone in their queer experience and coming out. I was surprised to see someone openly figuring themselves out and not feeling ashamed or embarrassed or a need to hide. Even though I didn’t realize where I was on my journey, by knowing her and befriending her I became a little less afraid of myself. I’m so proud of her to see her continuing to blossom and continue in her journey being more fully herself in her transition … inspiring others the way she did with me and so many countless others … Happy International Transgender Day of Visibility] to you … and to all the rest of my Trans family who I love and am inspired by. The world is better with y’all in it.”

This just further proves how one of us coming out, as gay or bi or trans, paves the way for others to follow. Had Archuleta never met Adore, he may have just gone back to Utah and lived a closeted life, desperate to stay in the church as so many other gay Mormons have done.

photo

Mrs. Betty Bowers, AKA Deven Green, comedian and America’s Best Christian, on hypocrisy in the new regime:

“I learned this week that you can put your troops’ lives in danger, compromise our national security, and violate the Espionage Act, and the government will do nothing. But if you write an editorial for your school newspaper that [The Felon] doesn’t like, you we be abducted on the street and disappeared.”

Bowers is speaking of Tufts University student Rümeysa Öztürk who co-authored an op-ed about the university’s response to student demands for divestment from Israel. A week later, leaving her home, Öztürk was grabbed by a half-dozen masked agents of the Department of Homeland Security, cuffed, put in a car and driven away.

This is not America; this regime talks about how their side has all the rights to Free Speech, but attacks and disappears those who disagree with them.

Resist.

photo

Jasmine Crockett, Democrat Representative from Texas, Christian Nationalist Mike Johnson's hissy fit:

“So Speaker Johnson threw a tantrum today and cancelled votes for the rest of the week because he couldn’t wrangle enough support  to block new parents from voting [by proxy] in Congress. I guess when you don’t get your way, you just shut it down and go home? The American people didn’t elect us to pout.”

Nine of his own GOP members rebelled against Johnson’s Faux Christian move to tank a procedural vote on a measure that many considered anti-family … allowing new parents to vote by proxy rather than coming to Congress, which is something that was done during the pandemic.

The GOP is so out-of-touch with what people want.

Resist.

photo

Mark Carney, Canadian Prime Minister, on the lasting damage The Felon has inflicted on Canada:

"The old relationship we had with the United States based on deepening integration of our economies and tight security and military cooperation is over. What exactly the United States does next is unclear but what is clear—what is clear—is that we as Canadians have agency. We have power. We are masters in our own home. We can control our destiny. We can give ourselves much more than any foreign government including the United States can ever take away. We can deal with this crisis best by building our strength right here at home. It will take hard work. It will take steady and focused determination from governments, from businesses, from labor, from Canadians. We will need to dramatically reduce our reliance on the United States. We will need to pivot our trade relationships elsewhere and we will need to do things previously thought impossible at speeds we haven't seen in generations."

The bit about pivoting trade relationships "elsewhere" should concern every American. Thanks to The Felon’s idiotic tariffs, the US is no longer a stable partner to foreign nations and even countries like China and Russia are going to look like better options for many of our former allies.

The Felon promised his supporters a new "Golden Age" but he’s dragging us into an economic Dark Age.

photo

Ruben Gallego, Arizona Democrat Senator, announcing that he's putting a hold on [The Felon’s] nominees to run the Department of Veterans Affairs amidst cuts to that agency:

"Talking to veterans, people that I served with as well as seeing some of what’s happening in Arizona, I decided that whatever tool I have to fix the situation, I’m going to use it. And this is one of the few tools I have at this point."

The hold will complicate Richard Topping's nomination process and prevent the Senate from moving quickly to a vote, possibly tying up hours and even days of floor time. In the process, Gallego will be able to generate attention for the VA and highlight to the public exactly how terrible these nominees are.

Democrats need to fight and Ruben Gallego is showing us how you play hardball against MAGAts.

photo

Jonathan Groff, on how his late ex-BF Gavin Creel helped him come out:

“He changed my life. I had come out of the closet personally, but there had been no occasion for me to announce it publicly. We were dating and he was so out and doing ‘Hair‘ [on Broadway] at the time and he organized these buses [to the National Equality March]. I really remember the moment of looking over at him with literally a bullhorn and feeling like, ok am I going to like [come out]. It was such an essential moment because of who he was and how out and vocal and how brave and fearless and externalized he was and wanting to kind of try to be as brave as he was. But it was also the love that I was feeling for him. The need that I feel when I perform, the joy I feel when doing that. Feeling love like that for the first time mind-blowingly meant more to me [than performing]. Because at that time it was 2009, [and with] coming out of the closet it was sort of an unspoken thing that you were sacrificing something in your career if you were going to come out publicly. And I remember looking at him and feeling that I would rather feel this feeling than ever be on a TV show or do a movie. This is so much more meaningful to me. I owe him that and I am so grateful we got to talk about it many times even after we broke up. It’s such an unbelievable loss.”

This is just proof, again, that everyone who comes out paves the way for someone to follow.
