I Didn't Say It ...

Don Cheadle, on why he wore that  ‘Protect Trans Kids’ t-shirt on SNL:

“You have this platform and you have an opportunity to say something. My daughter actually gave me that shirt. I said ‘I’m going to wear it, I’m just waiting for the perfect time.’ I think that was a good one.”

It was a great thing to see, a celebrity standing up for the trans community, but not at a rally or a march, just on TV introducing a singer.
Cheadle rules.
Joe Biden, former Vice president, saying he’s “very close” to making a decision about running in 2020:

“The first hurdle for me was deciding whether or not I am comfortable taking the family through what would be a very, very difficult campaign. No matter who runs, it’s a very difficult campaign. I’m certain about where the family is, but the second piece is that I don’t want this to be a fool’s errand and I want to make sure that if we do this—and we’re very close to getting to a decision—that I am fully prepared to do it.”

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again …run, Joe, run.
Emma Thompson, explaining why she quit the animated film Luck  after Skydance, the producers, accused sexual predator John Lasseter:

"It feels very odd to me that you and your company would consider hiring someone with Mr. Lasseter's pattern of misconduct given the present climate in which people with the kind of power that you have can reasonably be expected to step up to the plate … If a man has been touching women inappropriately for decades, why would a woman want to work for him if the only reason he's not touching them inappropriately now is that it says in his contract that he must behave 'professionally'? I am well aware that centuries of entitlement to women’s bodies whether they like it or not is not going to change overnight. Or in a year. But I am also aware that if people who have spoken out—like me—do not take this sort of a stand then things are very unlikely to change at anything like the pace required to protect my daughter’s generation.”

Good for her to take a stand.
Seth Meyers, on _____’s assertion that Spike Lee’s Oscar speech about love and understanding was an attack on him:

“I love that [Spike] didn’t mention _____ by name. but when _____ heard hate, he assumed it was about him. When _____ hears hate, it’s like the Bat-Signal for him.”

Yup, when someone talks of love and understanding and acceptance, ______ hears hate, instantly thinks they’re talking about him and has a TwitterMeltdon™.
Ivanka _____, daughter of the Liar-in-Thief and a White House senior adviser, says the majority of Americans ideologically believe her daddy and not Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s calls for minimum wage increases:

“I don’t think most Americans, in their heart, want to be given something. I’ve spent a lot of time traveling around this country over the last 4 years. People want to work for what they get. So, I think that this idea of a guaranteed minimum is not something most people want. They want the ability to be able to secure a job. They want the ability to live in a country where’s there’s the potential for upward mobility.”

Says the woman born into a millionaire family.
Says the woman who never got a job her father didn’t hand her.
Says the women who never once struggled for a job or a chance to get ahead.
Fuck off, grifter.
Pat Robertson, once again showing how often he thinks about gay sex:

“The incredible thing about the homosexuals is they are willing to destroy lives and destroy the whole fabric of society so long as they and their weird way of doing sex is legitimized. That’s what they want and they will take away everything; they will destroy marriage, they will destroy families, they will destroy, in this case, the foster children. They are willing to tear down the entire edifice in order to have the majority of people recognize the way they do sex.”

Examples, please, of a life destroyed because I’m gay?
 … crickets …
Okay, maybe an example of how many people I have asked to, um, ‘recognize’ how I have sex?
… crickets …
Hey Pat, we just want equality and love, the same things you want, well, except that whole business about being a religious wacknut.
That part you can keep.
Alex Trebek, Jeopardy host, on who should take his job when he retires:

“It’s probably going to be a woman, somebody younger, somebody bright, somebody personable, somebody with a great sense of humor. So I nominated Betty White.”

I could get behind that!
Rick Santorum, AKA Frothey Mix, AKA the former GOP Senator from Pennsylvania, excusing ______’s lies about the Russia investigation because ______, well, lies:

“The president doesn’t tell the truth about a lot of things fairly consistently. And so the fact that he’s not telling the truth about Russia fairly consistently, at least in the eyes of the people around here, why is that any different? It’s not like he’s doing something out of character with the Russia investigation, that he’s not doing in other areas.”

Seriously, we need to get over the fact that he lies because he lies almost all the time.
Siddown, Frothy, you’re as useless now as you were in Congress.
And that ain’t no lie.

Bobservations

So, the other night, I announced I was going to sleep, but told Carlos I was first going to ‘check my fans,’ Carlos calls the people who read and comment on this bloggy thing my ‘fans;’ while, since he doesn’t blog, he says he’s checking his ‘acquaintances’ on Facebook.

But this isn’t about that. This is about, as I am off to check my fans, he says he needs to use to computer after 10:45PM to complete a money transfer for Tia Gloria/Her Social Security checks are direct deposited into an American band and once a month Carlos transfers funds to hear. But, since there is a limit on the number of coins you can transfer at one time, and you can only transfer once in a 24-hour period, he needs to finish the transfer he’d started the night before at 10:45.
“Oh. Then I guess I have to be off the computer in 25 minutes?”
“No. I’m just saying, leave it on and I’ll do a transfer after you’re done.”
“Well, I don’t wanna inconvenience anyone, so I’ll be done before 10;45.”
“You’re not incon—”
“I don’t want to bother anyone.”
“You’re not bother—”
“I don’t want to intrude …”
“You’re not intruding—”
“I don’t want to impose …infringe … overstep …”
“You’re not—”
“I don’t wanna rock to boat.”
‘WHAT BOAT?”
I knew I’d get him. Boat.
Audrey Pence, the daughter of anti-LGBTQ and perhaps self-loathing homosexual Michael Elizabeth Pence, recently announced her engagement to Daniel Tomanelli on Instagram, with photos taken at Race Point Beach in the Massachusetts resort town of Provincetown …the gayest town in America.

Audrey has made her political views known and has called herself socially liberal and politically independent, though as far as the Pence kids go, Audrey may not be the only one who has rejected their father’s arch-conservative homophobia.

When John Oliver published his parody Marlon Bundo book, Charlotte Pence, who authored the original book about the Pence family bunny, said …
“His book is contributing to charities that I think we can all get behind… I’m all for it.”
And I’m sure Mother and Michael Elizabeth Pence weren’t thrilled about that, or Audrey saying ‘Yes’ in P-town … though I heard their first choice was The Castro?.
Jussie Smollett. It’s looking more and more like he faked his attack; he was arrested this morning for filing a false police claim about being attacked. Lotsa folks are doing the ‘I told you so’ dance at people like, well, me, because I believed him, but here’s the deal …

I will always believe a victim until I learn otherwise. The day I instantly decide that a person who says they are a victim of domestic violence, a hate crime, a rape, whatever, is a liar, is the day I am less human, and less humane.

That said, Jussie needs to apologize, explain, and go away, because when we have states in this country who don’t believe sexual orientation should be included in Hate Crime legislation, what Jussie did was feed that homophobia, and make it harder for LGBTQ folks to get the protection we need from people who hate us.

Thanks for nothing, Jussie.
Better news … Don Cheadle, one of my favorite actors and now one of my favorite people, hosted SNL last weekend and introduced the musical guest wearing that t-shirt:
“Protect Trans Kids”.
Cheadle’s career has been intertwined with LGBTQ issues for years, from playing the father of a gay, gender fluid son on House of Lies, and appearing in Logic’s 2017 clip “1-800-273-8255” which followed a gay teen as he inched toward taking his own life after he’s been outed having a relationship with a boy and subsequently rejected by his father and his boyfriend’s father.

Thanks Don. It wasn’t a huge gesture, but it spoke volumes.
Out on the West Coast, Contra Costa County Libraries,  set up an event called Drag Queen Story Hour, where drag queens would read to kids from books that display diversity and different gender identities.

Well, as happens, wingnuts got their panties in a snit, and set about protesting the event, calling it ‘inappropriate’ for children.

And, as happens, when the event began over 500 people showed up. Oh, not to protest, that was a much, much smaller group, but to attend the event … with their children.

Times do change.
Everyone from liberal media to conservative asshats like Lindsey Graham have questions _____’s sanity, though only Miss Lindsey has changed her mind and become ______’s lap dog, but nowhere was it more evident that the president is a narcissistic child than last weekend after SNL skewered him again.

And he TweetRanted:
“Nothing funny about tired Saturday Night Live on Fake News NBC! Question is, how do the Networks get away with these total Republican hit jobs without retribution? Likewise for many other shows? Very unfair and should be looked into. This is the real Collusion!”
Oh honey, it’s TV. If you think that’s collusion, then it’s clear you know nothing about the Mueller investigation.
GOP lawmakers in Wisconsin have forced the removal of quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s name from a state resolution marking Black History Month because they think  he’s too controversial … for kneeling protest of black men, women and children killed by police officers around the country.

I wonder if they’d have done the same for MLK or Rosa Parks?

Democratic Congressman David Crowley, who wrote the resolution, said the incident was “a textbook example of white privilege” and a “slap in the face” and said:
“Many of these people that you don’t agree with will still be in the history books that your children and grandchildren will be reading.”
Luckily, most of these GOP asshats and bigots will soon be forgotten.
In November 2016,  I blogged about Pamela Ramsey Taylor ... see post HERE ... who made a racist Facebook post about then-U.S. first lady Michelle Obama after _____’s election:
“It will be so refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified First Lady back in the White House. I’m tired of seeing a [sic] Ape in heels.”
Well, Racist Pamela was fired from her job at a county development agency in West Virginia for being a racist tool, and that was good; this is better:

Pamela Ramsey Taylor just confessed to taking more than $18,000 in flood relief benefits after falsely registering for FEMA benefits after the June 2016. Taylor claimed that her primary residence had been damaged in the flood and that she was staying in a rental property, but it was proven that her primary residence was undamaged, and she was still living there.

In her plea agreement, Taylor agreed to pay restitution of $18,149.04, though she also faces up to 30 years in prison and a fine of up to $500,000 when she is sentenced on May 30.

Racist and a thief. Wonder where she learned that :::::cough _____ cough:::::
We recently watched the Battle of the Sexes, the true story of that epic tennis match between Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King back in the 1970s. The story also focused on King coming to accept the fact the she was a lesbian, and featured a storyline about Margaret Court, an Australian tennis player known more today for being an unrepentant homophobe.

Good film, but you know this isn’t about that it’s about a trio of Hot Men from the film, like …

Austin Stowell, top … I’m guessing, and featured here before, who played Billie Jean’s unsuspecting husband, Larry.

James Mackay, bottom right, who played Barry Court, husband of Margaret.
And Lewis Pullman, bottom left, who played Larry Riggs, son of Bobby.

Two interesting footnotes: Lewis is the son of actor Bill Pullman, who also played a role in the film, and, kudos to the real Larry King, who divorced Billie Jean when she came out. Larry King remarried and when he and his second wife had children, they named Billie Jean King as the godparent.

Love that … and the hot guys.

I Ain't One To Gossip But ....

You always read about women and cat-fighting, but really, it’s men and cat-fighting that takes the cake. I mean think Kanye and Drake, Kanye and, well, anyone. And then think British pop star Robbie Williams and his neighbor, Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin.

These two have been sniping at one another ever since Williams submitted plans for a basement gym and pool at his West London home five years ago. Page wasn’t keen on the idea that the construction might damage his own home, Tower House, a mansion designed by William Burges that dates back to 1875.

So, the two fight; over the years Page has objected multiple times to Williams’ planning proposals and complained enough to get his construction workers fined for noise issues. But, last December, the local council granted Williams permission to build on the condition that he’d monitor any noise issues and vibration levels that might pertain to ground movement at the Page manse.

Well, that wasn’t good enough for Robbie, and because Jimmy keeps sticking his nose into the construction, Williams has taken to blasting the music of his Led Zeppelin rivals, like Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, and Deep Purple whenever Page sits in his garden. Williams even strolls into his yard dressed like Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant by “wearing a long wig and stuffing a pillow up his shirt.”

Seriously. Grown-assed men acting like little girls.

Wait, that’s a nasty thing to say about little girls.
Since I mentioned what a diva Kanye can be, let’s dish.

He’s backed out of headlining Coachella this year because they wouldn’t build him a giant dome to house his enormous ego … along with any modicum of talent he may have left.

It appears that Coachella co-founder Paul Collett received a call from Kanye requesting a dome smack dab in the middle of Coachella. Well, concert executives explained that it would be impossible to build a massive Ego Dome in four months and would require rearranging the entire festival site and removal of a large section of Port-a-Potties, Kanye blew up.

But, you know, who wouldn’t when they’re told they can’t have a dome because people gotta poop? And so Kanye hung up, stomped his feet, and ran to Kim’s bedroom to weep. And then he called back and said he wouldn’t appear at Coachella ever!

And he was informed that promoters had already gotten … wait for it … it’s epic …it’s still making me laugh … I am dying over here … Ariana Grande to take his spot.

Yeezus replaced with Mimi 2.0? Brilliant!
Sorry, not sorry, but Wendy Williams, who is either in the throes of an addiction to pain killers, causing her to look more dazed and confused than ever, or in the middle of a scandal because her husband’s side piece is with child, is taking a break from her show to deal with Issues A and/or B.

Wendy was supposed to return to her show last week, but did not, and is now scheduled to return sometime in Whenever. Co-Presidents of the show’s syndication company, Ira Bernsteins and Mort Marcus, put out a statement supporting Wendy because co-presidents always make statements when things are not falling completely off the rails:
“As she has for the past 10 years, Wendy delivers an incomparable live talk show day in and day out and we want to give her the best opportunity to heal and recover… Wendy has our complete and unwavering support and we look forward to her return to the iconic purple chair.”
Wendy is still a mess and needs more time to recover. That’s the truth.
If you aren’t watching Scientology and the Aftermath  then you are missing the most frightening television show ever.

Leah Remini, a former Scientologist who escaped the cult, is hell-bent on tearing down the ALLEGED church cult, and is apparently doing such a good job of it, that the Cult of $cientology [Co$] has accused her of … wait for it … murder.

True, Leah may not have held the knife, and she may not have even been at the scene but … according to Co$ international spokesperson and Director of Public Affairs, Karin Pouw, Leah is to blame for a stabbing that occurred outside of a Co$ headquarters near Sydney, Australia last week.

And, true to form, Pouw didn’t call the police to tell them about Leah’s involvement in the murder, but she did pen a strongly worded letter to A&E president Paul Buccieri—A&E airs Scientology and the Aftermath—accusing Leah and the show of inciting the murder with her words.

The incident took place January 4th, where the victim, Chih-Hen Yeh, a Co$ security worker was escorting a female church member to a “purification ceremony” when the woman’s teenaged son stabbed him in the neck with a large kitchen knife. Yeh died later in a hospital emergency room.

According to Pouw, the murderer “was inspired by an anti-Scientology website that featured your (Paul Buccieri’s) people and included a link to Remini’s show.” Yes, it was the link on the website with the knife in Sydney … if this were a Co$ version of Clue.

Pouw also claimed, and, again, not to police because, well, she’s an idiot, that “prior to committing this heinous act, the murderer spouted vicious religious hatred and propaganda, incited by A&E and the Leah Remini - Mike Rinder series.”  Pouw goes onto claim that "whistleblowers" claim Leah “coaches” people to “incite hatred against Scientology” which she calls “scandalous bigotry” and that the series—again, it’s Scientology and the Aftermath, Tuesdays at 9PM on A&E—has born “strange and bitter fruit”.

Oh Karin Pouw, now you’ve gone and plagiarized Billie Holiday in your crazy rant. You’re clearly reached the edge and stepped over. Up next, Pouw will find a way to insert Leah Remini into the _____ White House scandal. … or say Remini was involved in the fake moon landing …or 9/11 … or ….
Dear Goddess, no one rides a story to death like Kathy Griffin.

That bitch is still on her World Victim Tour about that posting of herself holding up a “decapitated Trump head” and has decided to go all Karin Pouw on  someone she says didn’t stand up for her: actor Don Cheadle.

Seriously. Kathy says her “friend” Don turned his back on her in her time of need and took to Twitter to shame him. Sadly, Don wasn’t playing, and he came at her brilliantly.

It all began innocently when Don Cheadle Tweeted a photo of himself wearing a hat from Sleeping Giants, an anti-sexist and anti-bigotry campaign. That sent Kathy Griffin over the edge, or, well, further over the edge, reacting as if the idea of Cheadle showing support for Sleeping Giants was a personal attack on her:
Oh GREAT Don. I will never forgive you for your nasty tweet the day my smear campaign started. You know it was a fucking smear campaign and you have never taken a moment to apologize. Some liberal you are. Yes, my memory is long my ex friend. Shame on you. I kept a list. Fear me.”
Fear me? I guess she’s off her meds. But this is what she’s ranting about … in response to someone who said Kathy probably voted for _____ after that picture was posted, Cheadle Tweeted that he believed Kathy hates _____, and then added ... “That pic tho …” ... and that set Griffin off and she that first Tweet;but Cheadle needled her with his response:
“Huh?”
And Kathy replied:
Huh? You’re a dick in real life, but believe it or not I truly hope what I went through never happens to you. Never. And if it did I would be the first in line to stand up for you, get my ass on television and do everything I could to defend you & the 1st amendment. It’s easy don.”
Seriously. Have you ever had anyone go off on you, and you’re like, ‘What the hell are they even talking about?’ Don Cheadle did, and he shot back in a series of Tweets:
“sigh ... ok, kathy.
1) we had one conversation on a flight about our mutual disgust for individual 1. i don't "friend" that quickly so we can't really be "exes."
2) had i been your "friend" and you had asked my opinion, i would have said, "kathy. for you own sake, please do NOT depict yourself holding the bloody, severed head of the president, evoking daesh, daniel pearl and every other painful, disturbing memory associated with it, your first amendment rights notwithstanding." and had you said, "fkkk you, i'm doing it anyway," i would've said, "well girl, be prepared to have the dogs sicced on you. the secret service doesn't play around with sh*t like that no matter WHO the president is. you're also risking your career for what i see as zero upside. just tell him to #diagf [die in a grease fire] like i do." maybe you would have listened. doubt it.
3) taking every opportunity to oppose him and support those looking to unseat him, IS defending you albeit not your personal, cringe worthy photo-op.
4) apologize for a tweet!? ...
5) i'm sorry that you're still dealing with the aftershocks of your actions. it's egregious.
6) this is six more than necessary answers to your "don's a dick because he didn't go on tv to champion me," tweet.
7) you wanna rap offline, you know how that works."
Kathy didn’t respond because, well, she’d been served by someone who refuses to stoop to her Woe Is Me, I’m A Victim level.

Own it Kathy. You fucked up, and now you should shut up.

Random Musings

While on the set of the Graham Norton Show earlier today, Madonna revealed the title of her upcoming album, which is "M.D.N.A".
Um, I'd like to buy an 'O'.

Those wacky Catholics. They want to protect children, but allow child raping priests sanctuary. They want to work to feed the poor while they all dress like Vegas showgirls. They hate abortion, and they hate birth control. And gay adoption. And gays. And gay marriage.
And, on Boxing Day, the Bishop of Córdoba, Demetrio Fernández, uttered one of the most inane things I have ever heard a person who wasn't officially brain-dead say:
"The Minister for Family of the Papal Government, Cardinal Antonelli, told me a few days ago in Zaragoza that UNESCO has a program for the next 20 years to make half the world population homosexual. To do this they have distinct programs, and will continue to implant the ideology that is already present in our schools."
The.UN.Wants.To.Make.Half.The.World.Gay.
Um, Bishop Asshat? You cannot make people gay. We are born gay. You, however, seemed to have chosen to be a bigoted frightened little man, in a big hat and red shoes.
Make people gay. Seriously?
Methinks your tiara is too tight.

So, Dexter and Homeland are over for the season and my Sundays were feeling a little lackluster.
Then I heard about Showtime's House Of Lies, starring Don Cheadle, and thought I'd take a look see.
It's brash, bold, profane, hyper-sexy, dirty, funny, thought-provoking, smart, well-acted.
And that's just Cheadle.
Seriously. It's gonna be good.

Okay, so this flier appeared this week and Mittsy's peeps got their flip-flops knocked for a loop. His spokesflunky disavowed the 2002 flier, allegedly distributed during Boston's Gay Pride festivities, saying it was not created by the campaign during Romney's run for governor.
Except..... Josh Barro, a former Romney campaign volunteer told BuzzFeed the flier calling for 'equal rights' was campaign literature. Flip. Flop.
And now Team Obama is hitting Romney for this flip-flop in an email from its LGBT coordinator Jamie Citron:
"The Mitt Romney who ran for U.S. Senate in 1994 promised voters in Massachusetts that he'd be a stronger advocate for LGBT rights than Senator Kennedy. And in 2002, while running for governor of Massachusetts, Romney's campaign passed out fliers for Pride Weekend, saying "All citizens deserve equal rights regardless of their sexual preference." Yesterday afternoon, Mitt Romney's current campaign actually disavowed that 2002 flier. You're probably wondering a few things. First, just exactly which part of that flier doesn't he agree with? And second, what could have possibly changed between yesterday morning (when Romney said he felt gays and lesbians deserved "full rights") and yesterday afternoon? Maybe he thinks that line won't play as well in the upcoming South Carolina primary?"
Oh Mittsy. Make up your effing mind on an issue and stick with it. Quick flip-flopping just to get elected.

Overheard at work:
New employee: Morning Bob!
Me: How long have you worked here?
New employee: This is my second week.
Me: Then you don't know the rules. I won't acknowledge you until you've been here six months.
New employee: Oh.
Me: See you in 22 weeks.

In an effort to make himself appear less rabidly anti-gay than he actually is, Rick 'Frothy Mix' Santorum said this at the the New Hampshire Republican Presidential Debate; January 7, 2012:  “I’m certainly not going to have a federal law that bans adoption for gay couples when there are only gay couples in certain states.”
Um, Frothy? When you wish to appear less like a Googling drooling asshat, you might want to check your facts.
According to the US Census in 2010--the first time married same -sex couples were counted--there are same-sex couples living in 99% of the counties in this country.
See Rick, it's true. We're here, we're queer, and we're like the Visa card: we're everywhere you want to be.
Deal with it.

Top Chef: Texas. Restaurant Wars.
Soundbites.
The guys went too subtle.
But Chris--I made a dessert--should have been knifed.
Ed needs a stylist.
Paul is Pia Z'adorable.
Tyler got the axe, er, knife.
The girls went bitchfest.
Lindsay should never be allowed access to the public.
Sarah was a bitch to Bev--is it me, or are the fat girls all mean to Bev.
Grayson was a team player.
Bev won. Take that bitches.
