Mom’s #HimToo Post Backfires

On the heels of Brett’s ascension to SCOTUS, and to take a swipe at the #MeToo movement—failing as badly as the #AllLivesMatter mess did to the #BlackLivesMatter movement—we have noticed the, ahem, #HimToo hashtag infesting social media.

It started when a woman tweeted proudly about her son all the while claiming he couldn’t date anymore because of “the current climate of false sexual accusations by radical feminists with an axe to grind.” And then she added the #HimToo and the Tweet took off mostly because it was kinda funny; and lame. Here’s that Tweet, which, naturally, has since been deleted:

And then a man names Jon Hanson appeared on Twitter, saying the women who Tweeted that first Tweet was his mother, talking about his brother, who didn’t have a Twitter account. He explained that he was both feeling bad for his brother and laughing hard at him because …well, isn’t it clear?

It must have been clear to Pieter Hanson, the sailor in that original Tweet because he joined Twitter, via the handle @Thatwasmymom, to clarify things:

So, there you have it. Mom was wrong, and Pieter’s not a #HimToo-er. But he was spot-on about Twitter’s meme game so here are some good ones:
