Bobservations

We have become friends with a woman who opened a restaurant in Camden. The food is fabulous and it’s a cute funky little place called The Loopy Lemon. They just started serving brunch on the weekends, so I said to Carlos last Saturday:

“You wanna go to The Loopy Lemon for brunch tomorrow? They open at 11AM?”

“That would be lovely.”

“They make a Sake Bloody Mary topped with Grilled Shrimp. Yum.”

“Sake?”

“Sake!”

“Well, I’ll make pancakes for breakfast …”

“Breakfast? You don’t have breakfast at 9AM and then go to Bruch at 11AM! This is going on my blog …”

He then began shrieking like a Karen about his constitutional rights.

I seriously hope he’s only thinking of the dog. I mean, he wouldn’t want to quarantine without me, would he? I’m worried …

While protecting the First DaughterWife and her Eunuch Husband at their DC mansion, Secret Service agents were told they were not allowed to use any of the half-dozen bathrooms inside the couple’s house.

After resorting to a porta-potty, as well as bathrooms at the nearby home of former president Barack Obama and the not-so-nearby residence of Vice President Pence, the agents finally found a toilet to call their own.

The US government rented a basement studio apartment near the Kushner house just so the Secret Service agents guarding these two criminals could have a bathroom; at a cost of $3,000 a month—more than $100,000 to date.

Cuz Jarvanka didn’t want them using their bathrooms.

Joe Biden has appointed South Carolina’s Jaime Harrison, the former South Carolina Democratic Party chair and 2020 candidate for Senator, to lead the DNC and to lead the Democrats through the what might be a tumultuous 2022 midterms.

I like Jaime, I do, but when I think of all that Stacey Abrams did to get Democrats out to vote and flip Georgia from Red to Blue, I’m kinda sad Joe didn’t put her in that position.

Hopefully he offers her something better.

Alex Azar, the Health and Human Services Secretary, resigned earlier this week, citing the violent Capitol riot. Azar will leave his post in January 20 … when Joel Biden becomes the 46th President of the United States.

How is that resigning? I mean, he’s staying on until what would have been his last day anyway. It’s not a resignation if you stay on the ship until it finally sinks beneath the surface of the ocean.

Remember when Rudy Giuliani ranted, wrongly, that provisional ballots were responsible for massive amounts of voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election?

Turns out this dimwit voted by provisional ballot in that election. He’s that dumb.

Ralph Lauren has dropped its seven-year sponsorship of golfer Justin Thomas after Thomas responded to missing a putt at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii by yelling the word “faggot.” Thomas later apologized:

“It’s inexcusable. First off I just apologize. There’s no excuse. I’m a grown man. There’s absolutely no reason for me to say anything like that. … I deeply apologize to everybody and anybody who I offended and I’ll be better because of it.”

Ralph Lauren released a statement:

“At the Ralph Lauren Corporation, we believe in the dignity of all people, regardless of age, race, gender identity, ethnicity, political affiliation or sexual orientation. This is part of our longstanding commitment to foster cultures of belonging—in the workplace and in communities around the world. We are disheartened by Mr. Thomas’s recent language, which is entirely inconsistent with our values. While we acknowledge that he has apologized and recognizes the severity of his words, he is a paid ambassador of our brand and his actions conflict with the inclusive culture that we strive to uphold. In reflecting on the responsibility we have to all of our stakeholders, we have decided to discontinue our sponsorship of Mr. Thomas at this time.”

Good on Thomas for offering what felt like a real apology, but good on Ralph Lauren for showing there are consequences to what people say.

Cardinal Juan Sandoval IƱiguez of Mexico had a video of his posted to Facebook flagged when he stated that COVID vaccines were being used to implant satanic microchips in people.

Seriously.

There’s been a lot of talk from the right about Cancel Culture—given their lack of interest in prosecuting their president for his part in an insurrection—but most of us know that ‘cancel’ simply means ‘accountability’ for what you say and do.

And so it is with pride that I tell you that the Loews Miami Beach Hotel—where I once worked in the Events Department—announced that it will no longer be the venue for a planned fundraiser for Senator Josh Hawley:

“We are horrified and opposed to the events at the Capitol and all who supported and incited the actions. In light of those events and for the safety of our guests and team members, we have informed the host of the February fundraiser that it will no longer be held at Loews Hotels.”

Sounds like the hotel—like most of us—believe that Hawley’s objections to the election results contributed to the attack on the Capitol. And so they simply told Hawley, ”No.”

Good.

James Wilson, male model. He’s got a face for days, and looks hot bearded or even clean shaven.

He looks good fully dressed, or just a jacket and briefs, but when he’s stripping off some coveralls…? And then into the tub …?

Just sayin’.

Oh Miss Lindsey, Please Stop Talking ...

I swear, this bitch just keeps stepping in it … last week South Carolina’s GOP Senator, Lady Lindsey Graham, debated the Democratic challenger Jamie Harrison virtually because Graham refused to submit to a COVID-19 test because, had he tested positive, he might have had to postpone the SCOTUS hearings and then _____ would have been mad at him, and Miss Lindsey can’t take that.

As a result, both Graham and Harrison were separately asked debate questions, and on a question about whether he’d met with leaders of the Black Lives Matter Movement, Lady Graham said, in part:

“I care about everybody. If you’re a young African-American, an immigrant, you can go anywhere in this state, you just need to be conservative, not liberal.”

That response suggested a couple of things: Lindsey Graham doesn’t give a damn about you if you’re liberal, AND  Lindsey Graham suggests that if you’re white, you’ll be completely okay in the state, but if you’re Black or from another country, you’ll only be okay if you’re conservative like him.

Of course, being conservative or pro-police doesn’t magically protect Black people from being harassed or killed by police in South Carolina, or anywhere else for that matter .

Bobservations

Yesterday I was discussing the Chris Evans accident dick pic that blew up the internet this week … of course, this was after a several minute discussion where I had to explain to Carlos who Chris Evans is, because the man knows nothing from pop culture.

But after that, with Carlos up to speed, I told him that Evans had finally responded to the picture with a new Tweet that said:

“Now that I have your attention … VOTE Nov 3rd!!!”

And Carlos had the best response when he said:

“Just don’t vote for the dickhead.”

Every so often he gets a good one off.

Tuxedo thinks maybe it’s time to put women un charge and end this misogynistic bull shiz. But then, he’s just a cat …

Maybe if Bob Woodward had said something about _____’s decision to downplay the virus, some people might not have gotten sick … like the thousands who attended any of _____’s six indoor rallies after he acknowledged on those tapes that the virus was lethal and airborne.

But _____ knew, and still held a series of rallies to boost his ego, so, yeah, that’s on him. And so is this …

At his last rally in Nevada, where a crowd of over a thousand was mostly mask-less, _____was asked about the lack of masks. He told the reporter he was more worried about her because she was awfully close to him. And when she reiterated that she was talking about the rally crowd, he replied that he was kept far away from them.

See, he doesn’t care about ‘them,’ even if they attend his rally, he was only concerned about himself.

That should tell you all you need to know!

Meanwhile, back at Chris Evans dick … his brother, Scott Evan, a hot gay cutie, reacted to the brouhaha over the photo by tweeting”

“Was off social media for the day yesterday. So. What’d I miss?”

You missed a dick, but they’re everywhere so ….

This week ______ participated in a town hall, hosted by ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos and the subject of masks came up. _____ says he often wears them—in hospitals or other places—and then blamed Joe Biden and the Democrats for not instituting a mask- mandate:

“They said at the Democrat Convention…they’re going to do a national mandate, they never did it, because they’re checked out, they never did it.”

His idiot twisted logic caused Joe Biden to Tweet that he cannot mandate a nationwide mask order because:

“I am not currently president.”

Currently!

In Ego News … Madonna is writing and directing another film, which begs the question, Did no producers or film studios ever see W.E.?

The film is about Madonna’s favorite subject … Madonna … and I imagine she’ll try to use some computer magic to make her play the star of the film.

I see clusterfuck.

Lifetime has just announced that it will produce its first gay-themed Christmas movie, The Christmas Setup, which will star real-life married couple Blake Lee, from Parks and Recreation, and Ben Lewis, from The Handmaid’s Tale).

Lewis plays a New York City lawyer who goes to Milwaukee to spend Christmas with his mom, who meddles in his love life by arranging for him to run into his old crush played by Lee.

Leis and Lee had a much better meet back in 2010 when they randomly met in the men’s room at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood for the premiere of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, which costarred Lee, who told his friends:

“I just met the man I’m going to marry—at the urinal.”

I’d like to see that film.

Fashion label Patagonia’s latest line of clothing features a rather interesting political message on the tag which many think is Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard’s way of getting his views across. A statement on the brand’s website emphasizes its investment in the election result and the impact it will have on environmental policy.

I am not a label gay, but I can get behind this one.

South Carolina’s own Lady G, aka Miss Lindsey, AKA ReTHUGlican lapdog Lindsey Graham was left with egg on his face—and he usually prefers some other sticky substance—after his campaign tried to smear his opponent Jaime Harrison by saying Harrison wouldn’t release his taxes. Graham even suggested Harrison was hiding something.

And in an instant Harrison released his tax returns but got the last ;laugh when he Tweeted back at Miss Lindsey:

Done. Now do President _____.”

And … snap!

For the last couple of years, I was hooked on the Starz channel’s Power, about a drug kingpin trying, and failing often, to go straight. To be fair, the hook started when I first saw Omari Hardwicke as Ghost, but that’s just me.

This new reboot of the show is Ghost: Power, Book II, which tells the tale of Ghost’s son Tariq, who may, or may not, become a drug kingpin. But the hotties this season are Daniel Bellomy as Zeke Cross, the star athlete, top right, and Gianni Paolo as Brayden, the rich kid, top right, and the Will He or Won’t He Become a Husband In My Head, Justin Marcel McManus as Jabari Reynolds, the hot teacher.

Keep me after class? Okay!

South Carolina Could See A Blue Change

In good news for the state, but bad news for Lindsey Graham, his Democratic challenger for US Senate, Jaime Harrison, has been rising in the polls and raising all kinds of money.

To be fair, it’s still kind of a longshot, but … Graham is trending downward and has an historically low approval rating for an incumbent: 35%. In addition, some 58% of South Carolinians say they want someone other than Graham representing them in the Senate.

Why? Well, maybe it’s because Lindsey Graham backs _____’s trade war 100%, even though he admits that South Carolina businesses will get hurt, and then told those owners to “accept the pain”.

Lindsey Graham defended _____ immediately after mass layoffs at Chemical manufacturer Archroma U.S., Inc. caused by _____’s multiple trade wars.

And while South Carolina is dependent on export income for soybeans, corn, and cotton, and while farming bankruptcies are skyrocketing, Lindsey Graham has done nothing to help.

This past week, Lindsey Graham angered his fellow senators when he pitched a letter pledging total fealty to _____, and promising that the GOP caucus won’t vote to remove him, no matter what crimes might be uncovered.

But this is about Jaime Harrison, the complete opposite of Graham: the former chair of the South Carolina Democratic Party, the first black man to hold that position, Harrison is a Yale-educated attorney who taught high school. He is the son of a single teenage mom, raised by his grandparents so he knows the struggle those who live in poverty; he knows what it’s like for a family to have to choose between paying the electric bill and putting food on the table. Living in a poorer area, he’s seen what happens when a rural hospital closes, or coverage for pre-existing conditions is threatened, the health of all South Carolinians is put at risk.

That’s who he is, and this is how that’s working out for him; he now trails Miss Lindsey by just seven points, but he’s also bringing in money; this quarter, Harrison raised $2.1 million, the largest amount a Democratic Senate candidate has ever raised in South Carolina, and that breaks the previous record of $1.5 million, set by … Jaime Harrison in the last quarter. More importantly, completely unlike Miss Lindsey and her big checks from corporations and the 1% and Russian oligarchs, most of Harrison’s funding comes from small donors with over 60,000 donors giving an average donation of $26.

It’s the people supporting Harrison. But we have work to do down here if we want to send Miss Lindsey home permanently.
