That's Right B*tches!

I have been named, drum roll please, The Official Dustbunny Of The Day for March 17th, 2011!
My Irish Grandmother would be so proud. Now I simply must call The Smallville Times so the news can make the afternoon edition!
Read it and weep, HERE

Thanks DD!

Well, I was having a fair-to-middling week here in Smallville. Winter is setting in and it's been dreary and rainy and cold. But then, what's this, one day I went to the mailbox, opened it, a ray of sunshine flew forth from it. A package, all the way from NEW YORK CITY, was inside.
 Ooooooooooh. Aaaaaaaaaah.

And, in that package was a gift from the La Grande Duchess de Dust Bunnies, Her Serene Highness, David Dust. I had been awarded--well, maybe not awarded, but I won---well, maybe not won, but I did leave my email address in a post at DavidDust--an official Rona Green Bunny bookmark. [website HERE]

Hey. Don't hate. Maybe, one day, you'll get lucky, too.

See, this isn't your grandfather's bookmark. Oh, sure, it saves your place in your latest novel, or porn magazine, but it has many other uses, too.

I stopped by the Smallville Arby's.....whipped out my Rona Green Bunny bookmark.....Free curly fries.

Speeding home from work down US 1, I was stopped by a trooper.....I reached into my pants and whipped out my.......Rona Green Bunny bookmark......no ticket.

The bookmark made my bed this morning, and then did a load of laundry.

It's outside raking leaves in the yard even as I type this.

It's amazing. And, it looks good slipped between the pages of, what else, Patti LuPone, A Memoir....and.......Oops, gotta run, my Rona Green Bunny bookmark needs the keys to the car so it can do the grocery shopping for me.
Thanks DD.
Mwah!

I Never Thought It Possible, But.......

......how fitting that today, of all days, Labor Day, I have hit 1,000 posts.

Labor Day and I've had a thousand things to say, a thousand points of view, right or wrong, a thousand jokes, a thousand tales, a thousand bits of my soul I've poured out for you all to see, drops of my own blood spilled onto a keyboard for the world to endure, I mean, enjoy!

So, here's to Labor Day and 1,000 Posts.

I'm glad for those of you who follow and comment, and I'm glad you all have blogs for me to follow and comment upon. A special shout out to the Grande Dame of Dust Bunnies, and the reason I began to blog in the first place, David Dust.

You can thank him for giving me the idea that I could get my procrastinating ass in gear long enough to publish this thing daily, or you can curse him for the very same reasons. I, however, will give him a great Papi Hug and a mountain of Arby's Thanks for giving me the kick start I needed.

Thanks DD! XOXOXOXOXOXOXOX

And now, since it's Labor Day and Carlos and I do not have to Labor, the gays are headed to Charlotte.

That's the news from Smallville.

Happy Birthday Dust Magnet

And I say magnet, because through his wit and wisdom and the ability to cut a vein and bleed so we can all see that we're more alike than we ever realized, he has drawn us to him.
Like a magnet.
Sheesh! I didn't think I'd have to spell it out for you!
Anywhore (A Dustism I love) Happy Birthday DD!
We love you!

I've Been On Pins And Needles And That Ain't Fun!

Yes indeedy fashion do's and fashion don'ts--and you know who you are--the lawsuits are settled, the lawyers have scurried back to their bogs and Project Runway is set to air Season Six this summer over on the Lifetime network--the channel for women and gay men. The bigwigs at Bravo are happy with the settlement and Lifteime is happy with the settlement; Heidi is happy, and Tim is happy. And I'm happy.
And, of course, DavidDust will be happy. Now maybe all that bitching and moaning, and those nasty emails, crying about the lack of Runway will stop....and maybe he can relax the restraining order on me.
Once again, David, sorry about the bitching moaning whining and nasty emails.
So here's to the return of Fierceness!
Let's hope for some of this.

And maybe a little of this.

And definitely this.

But, maybe not so much of this.

Pictures

I stopped by Mistress Maddie's for a spell this morning and saw these pictures of Miss Richfield 1981--yes....that's her name....Miss. Richfield. 1981.
I dare anyone not to see that smile and give back one of your own.
I dare you!

And this is for David Dust
While at PetsMart or is it PetSmart, I never know, I tossed this toy rabbit into the cart for my cats. Tallulah can't be bothered with it. MaxGoldberg is a wee bit afraid of it.
But Tuxedo, sat and posed with it.
I think he's been blogging while I'm at work and he's a closet DustBunny!

A New Day

What a peaceful way to start a new year.
Last night it was just Carlos and me, in front of the TV watching my girlfriend, Kathy Griffin, and my boyfriend, Anderson Cooper, ring in the New Year. Kathy has such a way with words, and seems to thrive on making Anderson blush, that every time someone said anything about a ball dropping, I wasn't sure where she would go with that.
But she did get off a good line to a heckler, just as they were going to commercial. You could hear her saying to someone in the crowd, "C'mon, I'm working here. Do I come down to where you work and knock the dick out of your mouth."
Love Kathy.
So, it was a quiet night in our neck of the Smallville Woods. But then today we went to a nice New Year's Day lunch at Neal and David's--the other gay couple in our little neighborhood. There are about twenty houses around here, and two are gay-owned; ten-percent. We are quite the accurate statistic.
But lunch was nice. Lots of gay couple and a couple of straight women. For such a small town I am always amazed at the number of openly gay couples. I mean, if it can be like this in Smallville, then there is hope for the rest of the world. And the gay boys do know how to throw a soiree. Lots of witty repartee and crass jokes; double- and triple-entendre; recipe exchanges. We were also there to celebrate the 80th birthday of Mattischka aka Matt, one of the funniest old southern queens, of the male or female variety, I've ever met. I want to sit down with him one day and just tape record his stories, because that's a life worth remembering. Not to mention all the food Neal and David put out.
There was all sorts of cocktails and a delicious champagne punch; two kinds of Sweet Potato casseroles--one looked like a pecan pie, and the other had the traditional marshmallows. Carlos brought his famous Pumpkin Cheesecake, and there was Fruitcake--no homo jokes needed--and candies and cheeses and .....and......and. There was ham, and parsley rice; Hoppin' John and collards--for luck in the new year....I'd read at David Dust that up north they do pork and sauerkraut. Down here it's collards and black-eyed peas. I think in California, where I grew up it was Bean Sprouts and Tofu, and in Miami it was Cuban sandwiches and Mojitos. So every place is different.
Anyhow, however you bring yourself luck in the new year, I am looking forward to a Fine Oh-Nine, and wish the same to you!
