Happy July 4th!!

On this, America's 250th birthday, keep on marching and fighting and speaking up and demanding that the government go back to working Of and By and For The People.
Take America back from the criminal regime and all it's lapdogs  by voting all of them out.

Bobservations

Carlos was recently called to do an interpretation for the Florence County Court Solicitor’s office, which is about an hour or so from Camden. When he explained that he doesn’t drive, they offered to come pick him up, and then drive him home, so he agreed.

But then he worried about the ICEstapo because although he’s a legal documented immigrant that hasn’t stopped the ICEstapo from grabbing people up, so he decided to research the name of the woman who called him: Christine Lowe … a made-up name because she doesn’t need to be on here. He looked and looked and found nothing about her and got a little worried, so I said I’d take a shot at it and Googled Christine Lowe and also found zip, zilch and nada.

I told him I’d come out of the house and meet her when she picked him up and told him to get a business card from her for his records and then give it to me to check. She arrived, we said Hello, she gave me a card and it all looked legit; she even wrote down her home phone on the back. Still, I went back to the house and Googled her again because her name isn’t Christine Lowe but Kirsten Love.

And she’s an investigator for the Florence County Courts. And she had Carlos home by 5PM at which time I told him to pay attention when someone gives their name because Christine was Kirsten and Lowe was Love and he said it all sounded the same.

Bless his heart.

This Tuxedo story is from February 15, 2009 …

Carlos and I decided today would be a good day to do some deep cleaning, so we worked from one end of the house to the other with vacuums and sprays and laundry baskets and window cleaners and furniture polishes and floor cleaners.

I planned dinner. Sunday is usually Carlos' day, but I was in the mood for marinated pork loin, so there you have it. I gave Carlos a haircut. Not the pseudo-mohawk he wanted but something short so he wouldn’t have to mess with it too much. I stripped the beds and was doing laundry and wondered where the cats had gone. All of them hide on cleaning day. I don't know if it's because they think they're getting a bath, or they simply don't like the turmoil.

I discovered Tallulah napping behind the love-seat in the sunroom. MaxGoldberg hid under the guest room bed. But Tuxedo was a harder find.

Until I walked in the bedroom and caught a glimpse of something cat-like. I lay down on the bed and peered into the pile of blankets, and there he was. Hiding out because he doesn't like it when you clean; all his regular smells and places to play get cleaned up and put away.

I feel that way sometimes myself.

Crawl into a hole and pull the hole in after me.

Former reality TV star Josh Duggar, serving a 12-year prison sentence for possessing child pornography,  spoke from behind bars to dismiss child molestation allegations against his brother Joe.

I saw this headline on JoeMyGod:

NYT: [Corey] Lewandowski Had Access To Classified Briefs

And I assumed because of their extramarital affair that  ‘classified briefs’ meant Kristi Noem’s panties.

I’m an Old School Gay; y’all can have Madonna, and Gaga, too. For me, the Gay Diva Icon to end all Gay Diva Icons is one Diana Ross. And so, since today is the anniversary of the birth of the Diva known as Diana, I will make do by reposting my story of A-Run-In-With-Diana, er, Miss Ross.

As a younger gay boy living in California, I waited for Miss Ross to come to Lake Tahoe, or even Reno, although Reno is tacky and dirty and Lake Tahoe is gaw-geous. So, when I saw the announcement that she would be appearing somewhere, anywhere nearby, I instantly got on the phone to my homies, er, homos, and homo-friendlies, and we made plans to see her.

One time we invited our friends Ann and Steve. They liked the idea of a show, but a Diana Ross show? They weren't fans; but then we enticed them with the idea of cocktails and gambling and Lake Tahoe and cocktails and cocktails, and they relented, so we went.

Now, back in the day at the casino showrooms, if you wanted a good seat, you tipped the ushers at the door to get closer. So I did. And we were seated next to the stage!

Well, I was two seats away from the stage because a couple of queens of mine stepped in front of me. Ann and Steve sat behind me. The show starts and she appears; sings, dances, and works the crowd. Reach Out And Touch! Ain't No Mountain High Enough! Baby Love! She appeared at the head of our table and, well, Steve, Mister I-Don't-Like-Diana-Ross leapt up, sprawled across my head and the two queens in front of me so he could, as he says, just touch her.

I think I created a monster.

A few years later, Miss Ross was back at Caesars Tahoe and once again there were phone calls and invitations to the performance. We invited a straight couple--probably because Ann and Steve couldn't make it and we like to keep a nice gay-straight ratio. I went with my best fag hag Lisette and our straight friends, Shawn and Lori, wanted to close, so they tipped this time, and we were once again next to the stage. Lisette sat right at the edge and I was behind her.

Show starts. Lights dim. Orchestra plays. Miss Ross sequins out and divas all over the place. She tells the crowd she has a bit of a cold, and they bring out a small table with hot tea for her. But she soldiers on.

Come See About Me! Love Child! My Man! Stop! In The Name Of Love! I'm Coming Out! The Boss!

And she keeps coming over to our table to talk to us. She says she loves all the good energy we are sending her and then she looks down at Lori, who was about 26 months pregnant at the time, and asks Lori about the baby, wishes Lori and Shawn all good things, and … They. Just. Sit. There. Needless to say they were never part of the Caravan To Caesars To See Miss Ross again.

Anyway, Miss Ross starts to sing ‘It's My Turn,’ and she comes back  to our table and holds a hand out to me. I rise, like any good gay boy in the presence of diva-liciousness and clasp her hand. No, she says, up here. I believe I used Lisette's head as a steppingstone and I rose to the stage. Miss Ross wanted to slow dance with me; and we did, center stage at Caesar's Palace, while she sang It's My Turn.

And at the end, she kissed my cheek and told me that I was a gentleman.

Somehow I returned to my seat until The Boss. We were up in the aisles dancing and Miss Ross came to us once again and called us all on the stage to dance. I believe I was trampled on by the homos behind me, and this time, I actually let Lisette go up first...after all, Miss Ross had said I was a gentleman, so I was not about to disappoint!

Needless to say it was a fabulous concert and one of those memories that will never fade.

At the end of the show, Miss Ross once again appeared at our table to thank us for being so nice to her.

Happy Birthday Diva! Eighty-two looks fierce and fabulous.

Bobservations

First off, thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. Tuesday was the day of my birth, but the celebration is a weeklong event. Carlos gifted me a day to myself on Tuesday as he had a conference to attend in Columbia and we will celebrate with a meal at one of our favorite restaurants in Asheville this weekend IF it doesn’t snow as predicted; in that case we’ll dine closer to home …

So this past weekend we waited for The Storm. They said snow on Saturday with sub-freezing temperatures and then an ice storm on Sunday taking out trees and knocking out power.

Yeah; not so much. We got about an inch of snow that was gone before noon and then ice storm apparently melted before it arrived but …

On Sunday it was quite cold and Carlos decided to practice his trumpet in the sunroom with two of the four sliders open to the 20-degree air.

This from the man who drops an F-bomb every morning that the temperature is 35-degrees or less.

This from the man who sleeps under five blankets while wearing three pairs of socks, long underwear, sweatpants and a sweater.

But standing in a 20-degree sunroom? Now it was my turn for the F-bombs!

This Tuxedo Says is from August 2021 ...

Tuxedo watches a lot of CNN—like his daddy he has a wee crush on Anderson Cooper, whom he calls his Owner-In-My-Head … where does he come up with these things—and is amazed at the way Republicans think …or don’t actually think.

While we must remember Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti, ICE agents have also been responsible for the deaths of seven people of color since the first on the year.

Top Row, left to right:

Keith Porter Jr. was fatally shot by an off-duty ICE agent on New Year’s Eve outside his apartment complex. An LAPD spokesperson said Porter had fired gunshots into the air and a DHS spokesperson said the off-duty ICEstapo officer was “forced to defensively use his weapon” but offers no evidence to support that.

Parady La, Cambodian refugee, died while being held in ICEstapo custody at the Federal Detention Center in Philadelphia. He passed away after suffering severe drug withdrawal, with his family alleging medical neglect.

Heber Sanchez Domínguez, a Mexican citizen, died while in ICEstapo custody at the Robert A. Deyton Detention Center in Georgia. The cause of death is currently under investigation.

Victor Manuel Diaz, from Nicaragua, died in ICEstapo custody at Camp East Montana in El Paso, Texas. DHS says Diaz died of a presumed suicide but  the official cause of his death remains under investigation.

Bottom Row, left to right:

Luis Beltran Yanez-Cruz, from Honduras, died while under the custody of the ICEstapo after suffering a heart-related medical issue; his death is also under investigation.

Luis Gustavo Nunez Caceres, a Honduran citizen, died in ICEstapo custody in Texas of “complications related to congenital heart failure.”

Geraldo Lunas Campos, from Cuba,  died in custody at the ICEstapo detention center in Camp East Montana; the cause of death was "asphyxia due to neck and torso compression."

Last year, 32 people died in ICE custody, the most in a single year since the agency was created.

Add their names to your rage.

Ticket sales for Amazon’s $40,000,000 documentary about the Slovenian Hooker’s return to the White have been, well, much like her husband’s penis, little and soft. According to one of Britain’s biggest cinema operators, Tim Richards, chief executive of Vue, just two tickets have been booked for the 6pm showing at Vue Islington on its opening evening.

Perhaps if Melanie had included her soft-core porn film as part of the documentary she might have sold three tickets.

The “No Kings” protests against the regime are returning March 28, this time with a flagship event in the Minneapolis on the heels of the ICEstapo murders on Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti.

Other demonstrations are expected again across the country.

Stand up; speak up; resist!

Thanks to Doc Heroin Addict the measles epidemic in South Carolina has spread to at least 789 people, surpassing the 2025 West Texas outbreak that sickened 762 people and killed two young girls. The majority of cases remain centered in Spartanburg County, mostly among people who were either unvaccinated or didn’t know their status.

South Carolina has long strived to be the best at something but who would have guessed it would be measles?

Good, fun news, because it has MAGAts in a giant snit, a rumor has it that Bad Bunny will wear a dress during his upcoming Super Bowl performance. And MAGAts are already ranting and raging all over X even though the story has not been substantiated.

Either way, I like the white, but the pink looks more fun, don’t you think?

It's My Dad's Birthday .......

Today is my Daddy’s birthday so I thought I might honor him with some thoughts …

I wish I could figure out how old you are but I hate doing long math!

I know birthdays get worse as you get older but, on the bright side, you don’t have that many left! Also, statistics show that people who have the most birthdays live longer!

As you got older I saw that life finally started to click for you… well, at least your knees, back and neck started to click. You know you are old when almost everything hurts, and what doesn't hurt doesn't work.

People look at you strangely when you ask for a piece of tinfoil for the leftover pizza.

One minute you’re young and fun, and the next you’re turning down the stereo so you can see better.

At 16 you loved it when your favorite song came on the radio, and then at 21 you loved hearing your favorite song in a bar, and then you started hearing your favorite song in the grocery store.

You have become that person that gets really excited for gifts like a high-quality pair of slippers, a programmable thermostat, or a set of durable socks.

When you used to tell people your age, they’d always say, “Oh, you look so much younger,” but now you just get an awkward silence. But don’t worry about aging, you’re still gonna do dumb stuff, only slower. And don’t think of it as getting old, think of it as outliving the warranty.

Thank you and Good Night!!!

Bobservations

I have a birthday coming up—I’ll be somewhere between forty and death—and Carlos has already given me two gifts.

Now, before I divulge the gifts, let me say that I love Carlos more than anything in life, but one thing I do enjoy is solitude. And since I don’t normally work on Tuesdays, not even from home, Carlos told me today that next Tuesday, as well as the 27th, the anniversary of my birth, he will be busy and gone all day and I can have the home to myself.

Carlos doesn’t get that feeling because he grew up as an only child; I had siblings and relatives nearby and friends and such and learned to like a little peace.

I can do everything or I can do nothing.

That’s love.

Of course, the weekend after my birthday we will be away for a mini-vacation to celebrate!

This is Tuxedo from July 2021 … mid-pandemic …

I’m thinking of running for Mayor of Smallville, but only as a front for Tuxedo, who would be the real mayor.

Nikki Glaser hosted the Golden Globes the other night and released a list of jokes she cut from her monologue. I kinda wish she ‘d left this one in, about “Wicked” star Jonathon Bailey being named the 2025 “Sexiest Man Alive” by People magazine.

“Jonathan is the first openly gay man to be named the Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine. And at first I was like, do we really need to say ‘openly’? And then I looked at a list of past winners and I was like, ‘Oh, yeah, we do.’”

Snap.

Kristi DogKiller and CitizenKiller is a liar; do not let her fool you.

ICE’s jurisdiction is only on matter related to immigration; not stopping vehicles at random.

They do not have nor mal police powers or authority.

To stop a vehicle they need to have reasonable cause to believe it contains an undocumented immigrant.

They cannot detain anyone without reasonable cause to believe that person is undocumented.

They cannot detain a  US citizen for passing by the area.

To draw their weapon on someone they must have reasonable cause to believe their lives are in direct danger.

ICE had no jurisdiction to stop or interact with Renee Nicole Good at all, never mind drawing a weapon, shooting her in the face and then calling her a “fucking bitch” as she lay dying.

The regime is conducting a thorough investigation of Renee while Noem exonerated the murderer, Jonathan Ross, before Good’s body was even cold.

These are the facts; don’t be gaslit by the regime.

I saw this meme on Bluesky, posted after Renee Good’s murder about how she should have just complied; something to think about …

“All you have to do is comply and you won’t get hurt by cops. When they tell you to get down, you get down. When they tell you to turn in your guns, you turn in your guns. When they tell you to get in the boxcar, you get in the boxcar. Why is this so difficult for people to understand.”

Think on that.

Last week, the House passed a bill to extend desperately needed healthcare subsidies and stop millions of people from being kicked off their health insurance and one of the more surprising “Yea” votes was from MAGAt cultist Lauren Groper.

Except once this was highlighted by the media, Boebert played the “um, actually” card and posted a picture of her holding an “incorrect vote form” that said she actually wanted to vote “nay.”

How dumb is Boebert? There are two choices for the vote and you say you accidentally picked the wrong one. You had two choices and you chose the one you didn’t want to choose.

It’s hard to fathom which degree of stupidity we’re dealing with here.

Thankfully, the bill still passed even with Boebert switching her vote to “no.”

And since I put this up before we left town I can safely say I have no idea where I am.

Bobservations

Sunday was laundry day at Casa Bob y Carlos and I am the laundress, so I asked Carlos to put what he wanted washed into the hamper or else, you know, no wash.

I walked into the closet and he is holding up a shirt to wash; he reaches inside that shirt and pulls out another shirt; he reaches inside that shirt and pulls out another shirt; he reaches inside that shirt and pulls out another shirt; this happened until all seven shirts were separated and put in the hamper.

He wears Russian nesting Doll Shirts for crying out loud!

This Tuxedo Memory is from September 2015 and is entitled:

“It's My Blog And I'll Tuxedo If I Want To .....

Okay, so this is mainly a filler post as Carlos and I are out of town, visiting Raleigh, North Carolina, and attending a Mexican Independence Celebration at the Contemporary Art Museum [CAM] hosted by the Mexican Consulate and the Consul General.

That's a long-winded way of saying Carlos was invited to a shindig and I was "and Guest."

So, you'll get Tuxedo, sleeping on a high shelf in the closet next to a stuffed rabbit someone gave the cats as a gift, and one they promptly chewed the ears off and destroyed.

I guess now it's just a Cat Pillow?

Anyway, I'll be back live[?] tomorrow. Stay tuned.”

Tuxedo was never a filler cat!

Since the rapture didn't happen after the eclipse, remember who predicted it would ... and then stop listening to them.

This is a good story true or not … there is a little coffee shop, where two people arrive and approached the counter.

“Five coffees please. Two for us and three hanging.”

They paid, they took their two coffees and left. I asked the waiter:

"What’s this about hanging coffees?"

“Wait and you'll see."

Some more people came in. Two girls asked for a coffee each, they paid & left. The following order was for seven coffees and it was made by three women—‘three for them and four hanging coffees.’

I was left wondering...what is the meaning of the hanging coffees, they leave. Then, a man dressed in worn clothes, who looks like he might be homeless, arrives at the counter and asks sincerely...

“Do you have a coffee hanging?"

“Yes we do, sir.”

They serve him a coffee and I got my answer.

People pay in advance for a coffee that will be served to whoever can't afford a hot drink. This tradition started in Naples. Amazingly, it has spread throughout the world’s cities and towns.

It’s also possible to order not only "hanging coffees" but also a sandwich or a full low-cost meal. Wouldn’t it be great if we could all start doing this in the cities and towns where we live? Small kindnesses like this can impact so many lives, in ways we could never imagine.

Maybe we should all try it.

“May you live as long as you want and not want for as long as you live,” is an Irish toast but “bread, cinnamon, eggs and Maple syrup” is a French toast.

You’re welcome.

I do a lot of posts where I tease about Carlos and tell funny stories of him, but his birthday was last Sunday and so this is what I thought of him on his ‘day’ …

“On the yearly anniversary of my dear husband's birth, I shall like to say that in the past couple of months, since the passing of my father, I have had a difficult time.

Things seem to work out and then they don't; things happen, stresses rise and sleepless nights ensue. But all through that Carlos has been my rock and my salvation and my saving grace.

I have loved him for nearly twenty-four years and that love grows each and every day.

Happy birthday, baby, and thank you for all you do to keep me safe and sane and steady and loved.”

And that’s a Carlos Tale of a Different Color.

This is the 50th Anniversary of a woman being able to get a credit card without the signature of a man … let that sink in and then realize that Arizona is rolling back abortion laws to the 1860s.

It's almost like some men are out to punish women.

Years ago Carlos and I went to the Columbia Farmer’s Market Plant Sale looking for plants for our new yard. We found a few we liked and then Carlos found a two-foot-tall Popcorn Tree, AKA Popcorn Viburnum. It produces clusters of small, popcorn ball-shaped blooms in spring while the leaves turn red to purple in the fall. Carlos wanted it and asked one of the vendors how much it was … seventeen dollars, Carlos said, and so we packed it up with a few other plants and headed off to pay for our new additions.

New additions that totaled nearly $150.00 and almost caused Carlos to faint. You see, the Popcorn Bush wasn’t seventeen, but seventy dollarsand Carlos was too embarrassed to tell them we didn’t want it.

Good thing because this is the Popcorn Bush this spring … over six feet tall and worth every penny.
